Adventures in the Ballroom

Teagan resisted the urge to roll her eyes. It was really sort of ironic, although not altogether surprising, that a Slytherin had come to rescue them. When Dolores made a snide comment and a barely veiled hint that it was all Teagan's fault, she smirked at her slightly.

"Yes, well, that wasn't my fault and we've been through this. If you hadn't been so nosy we wouldn't have been in this predicament. But Dolores here is quite right. We've been stuck in here and the bloody door seemed to have decided it would quite dandy if we got a chance to have a lovely little chat. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm rather hungry," she said in a chirpy voice that did nothing to hide the nagging fear in the back of her mind that these two would leave her here.

Teagan planned to high-tail it out of there as soon as was possible.

Dolores had no intention of stopping her, either. The sooner they put this whole thing behind them, the better. If there had, indeed, been some sort of cosmic force that had trapped them together in that ballroom as a means of teaching them a lesson, well, that lesson was lost on Dolores. She hadn't changed her opinion of the girl; in fact, she thought her quite impertinent. And just because she had allowed herself to be polite for just a moment and give the girl a pillow to sleep on didn't mean that they were destined to be best friends.

Although, it wasn't exactly like Dolores could afford to pass up potential friendships...

She brushed herself off again, as if trying to clear off the entire event. Looking up at Aubri, she even managed a sugary smile. "Thank you, Ms. Newbury," she said with a syrupy politeness. "Your assistance has been most appreciated."

And with that, she walked away, brushing somewhat rudely past Teagan.

Aubri's eyebrows went up. Who got themselves stuck in a room? But more than worrying about that, she was amused at the way these two went on. They clearly didn't like each other, and she could only imagine what they went through the night before.

"No problem, Dolores," she said, and nodded once at the little ravenclaw girl.

Chuckling to herself, she shook her head. "Just stay out of trouble."

When she opened the door, she half expected to find two older students, a boy and a girl, most likely. Hell, she might have even expected to find her sister. She sort of missed before a first year, come to that.
