Although she and Narcissa had vowed to keep in touch despite the fact that Andi had been disowned, circumstances had prevented them from talking. So much had happened in that time. Andi was married now, and pregnant. And she had some hope that, at least Narcissa would be happy for her. Even if her parents and Bella weren't.
She sent an owl to Cissa, asking her to meet her in the Room of Requirement on a night when Cissa wasn't likely to be too busy, then went ahead to wait for her there.

The good thing about Andromeda being at the school was that they could meet and wouldn't have to really worry about anyone. Of course, Narcissa made sure no one knew she was leaving. If Rabastan found out, she was sure that he would tell on her. However, she was rather good at sneaking out. After all, she and Lucius had done something like that before.
Recieving the owl, Cissa knew the perfect night that she wasn't too busy. Severus was helping her with defending her mind but tonight was a night that she had a break. She slipped off to the Room of Requirement to meet her sister.
Reaching the seventh floor, she looked for signs of Andromeda and once her eyes landed on her, a smile spread across her face. "Andi," she said in a happy whisper just in case someone was near by.

Andi just smiled at her sister. For Cissa's own sake, they couldn't have a lingering greeting here in the hallway. So she just concentrated on a room where they could talk. When the door opened, she led Cissa into the room and closed the door before throwing her arms around her sister.
"Oh, Cissy, it's so good to see you! I've missed you so much. How have you been? Is everything OK with you?"

Quickly Narcissa followed Andi into the room of requirement. Her smile widened as she hugged her sister. "It's good to see you too! I've been good, everything has been good." None of that was a lie. Things were going fairly well right now. She was learning how to defend herself although Narcissa wasn't sure if she should mention it to Andi. Maybe she would say something later on, if the topic arose but that probably wasn't a possiblity.
"How about you? How are you and Ted? I imagine that everything is going great. Look at you, you look amazing!" Words were rushing out of Narcissa's mouth as she was happy to see her sister again.

Andi laughed happily. Although she wouldn't admit it aloud, she had feared that Cissy would have changed her mind about things. Bella's opinion, along with their parents', had been quite clear, and she worried that they would have found some way to convince Cissa to see things their way. But seeing her sister now, all those fears seemed to disappear. Narcissa had not changed a bit, and Andi was glad for it. Having someone on her side, even if she had to be secretive about it, helped a lot.
"Thank you," she said. "You look as beautiful as ever. I'm so glad things are going well for you. Ted is wonderful and perfect. And I have news for you!"

It was hard to change Narcissa's mind once she had her mind set on something. She couldn't leave Andi behind, after all she was still her sister. Bellatrix didn't care, but Narcissa wasn't going to let Bellatrix influence her like that. She wasn't a puppet. Although, she did know what to say around certain people and she could make herself appear to be one if the need should happen.
It was good to see Andi finally happy. "News," she asked excitedly. She took Andi's hand. "What type of news?"

Andi was proud of Narcissa. She had learned to play the game and was able to put on appearances for her family, but still have a mind of her own. It would have been so easy for her to just be their puppet and go along with what they said. But Cissa wasn't weak. After all, she was a Black. For the first time in a very long time, Andi was actually proud of that fact.
"Lots of news, actually," Andi said. "Good news. First of all... Ted and I got married!"
Excitedly, she held out her hand for Narcissa to see. "I'm so sorry I couldn't invite you... it was kind of a spur of the moment thing... we eloped in France."

A shocked gasp came from Narcissa. She looked down to Andi's hand and then looked back up with a smile on her face. Part of her sort of expected Ted and Andi to elope. Maybe it was the part of her that thought that their parents would have found out and attempted to end the wedding had Andi and Ted gone through with an all out wedding.
"Oh, don't worry about that," she said waving off her apology. "You're married!" There was a lot of excitment and Narcissa felt that she could be bubbly for once rather than be what some people expected of her. "And you went to France! How romantic!" She threw her arms around her sister. "Congratulations! I'm extremely happy for you and Ted!"
To Narcissa, love was love. Maybe it was just the fact that she was a little naive and liked the ideas of fairytales coming true. There was no way that she could ever turn her back on Andromeda just because she fell for someone who wasn't so called 'ideal' by their parents.
"What is this other good news?"

Andi smiled and hugged her sister again. "It was very romantic," she agreed. "Whoever said big fancy weddings were the way to go was wrong, because this was so perfect. It was just the two of us, in a tiny little church, declaring our love for each other. I don't think I would have wanted to do it any other way."
Her happiness was electric, and it was impossible not to smile along with her. She had her sister here with her, and she had a bright future with the man that she loved. Her parents might have let her down, but she was starting a new family on her own.
With a mysterious sort of smile on her lips, Andi put her hand on her stomach. "You're going to be an aunt."

This time, Narcissa's jaw dropped. She looked at Andi, then down to her stomach then back up to her sister's face. This news wasn't something she was expecting at all but she was completely ecstatic by it all. "Really," Narcissa asked, not knowing what else to say for a moment as she wrapped the idea that Andi was pregnant around her head. "Oh my gosh," she said more excitedly as the news settled in.
Not being able to hold it in, Narcissa let out a small squeal of laughter and once again hugged Andi before pulling back to look curiously at her stomach. "How far along are you?"

It meant the world to Andi that Narcissa was so happy. She knew that her parents and bela would never be as happy by this news, but the look on Cissa's face made up for that. She still had one person in her family who could squeal with joy at hearing the happy news.
"About 3 months now," she replied. "It's just starting to show now... and the morning sickness has finally started to fade. But I'm hungry all the time! I'm afraid I'm going to be huge before this baby is born..."

"So that's why you look like you have a certain kind of glow," she said looking back up to Andi. "As for getting huge, I don't think you could ever get fat. The only reason you would be any kind of big would be because of the baby but even then, you'll still be as pretty as ever." Narcissa smiled and she started to wonder how it would be if she and Lucius had a baby. She had always wanted one of her own.
"I know your baby is going to be absolutely gorgeous! If it's okay, could I possibly come visit after its born?"

“Of course you can visit!” Andi said immediately. “I’m sure we can figure out a way for you to visit and not be seen. I would love for the baby to know at least one of her… or his… aunts. I’m afraid I’ve given up on Bella… It kills me, but I just don’t think she’s ever going to change her mind and accept Ted or the baby… or me.”
She looked sad as she said this. In spite of their differences, Bella was still her sister, and a part of her was always going to ache inside for the distance between them. “I keep hoping… if you stay in touch with Bella, maybe you can bring out her softer side. She must have it, after all, right?”

A frown appeared at the mention of Bella. She knew that there was no way that Bella was going to accept Andi being with Ted, let alone having a child with him. "I'm going to be honest with you," Narcissa said with a solemn voice. "I don't think Bella will have a softer side. I can't talk to her about you because well, it could jepordize everything. You would end up being in more danger than I would be in if she knew that I talk to you."
Narcissa averted her eyes to the floor. "I'm sorry Andi." She brought her eyes back up to Andi's. "But the good thing is that you are married to the guy who loves you more than anything and you two are going to be starting a family together. That is what is important. You know I will be there for you no matter what happens. You're family, even if others don't see it that way. I will never leave you behind."

Andi knew it was true, but she fervently wished it could be different. That somehow Bella could be saved. But the last time Andi had seen her, there was something… dangerous, almost fanatical in her eyes.
“I know,” she sighed. “I know you’re right. And I just… I wish it could be different. Please… just stay as close to her as she’ll let you. You might be the only person to keep her away from going over the edge. And maybe it’s already hopeless, but I just… I can’t believe that. She’s my sister, and I love her… In spite of everything.”

"I will," she said with a nod. Narcissa knew that Bellatrix was slipping away. Maybe she had always been there but it started to become more evident as time passed.
She reached out and took Andromeda's hands. "Whatever happens with Bella, don't let it get to you. We both knew she is more stubborn than anything and she will do things her way." If Narcissa was completely truthful, she would have to admit that Bella scared her from time to time. It was just sometimes when she would look over to Bella when she was thinking and there would be this look on her face, a look that Narcissa couldn't describe.
"There's not much I can promise, but I will stay as close to her as I can." She knew that the conversation had turned to a dim one, and Narcissa wanted to pick it back up. She liked seeing Andi happy.
"But let's not talk about that anymore. I want to hear more about this baby. Are you going to find out what it is or are you going to wait until its born?"

Andi felt a burning sensation behind her eyes and she blinked back a few tears. Although it was apparently easy for Bella to just write off her own sister, Andi was having a hard time doing that. They had fought often, and never really saw eye to eye, but they were blood. How could they be so different?
And she felt horribly for Cissa, too. She was caught between her two sisters. And even she knew that their differences were too great to overcome. It was a hopeless cause, and as much as it hurt, Andi was simply going to have to let Bella go.
But at least she still had one sister. And she had Ted and the baby and her cousins Sirius and Alice and so many friends.... In the end, Andi was better off than Bella was. It was just so incredibly sad that they could not save Bella from the darkness.
Cissa brought her out of these dark thoughts by mentioning the baby again. Just the thought of it brought a smile back to Andi's face. "We don't know what it is yet... I think we want to wait. But... to tell you the truth, I have a gut feeling that it's a girl. No reason why.... just intuition."

This was the Andi that Narcissa liked to see. She was beaming with excitement and she wasn't dwelling on the things that could bring her down. That was the Andi Narcissa wished she could always see.
"Oh, you're going for the surprise hm? Oh, could I help decorate a nursery? Maybe we could do one of those things were I can find out the gender of the baby and then go in and do the nursery myself and then I could charm the door so that way neither of you could step foot inside until the baby was born! That is of course if you had a nursery or even wanted me to do that." Her mind was turning fast like it had before.
"Whatever gender the baby is, it is going to be absolutely gorgeous!"

Andi couldn't help but get excited, imagining it all. Cissa's enthusiasm was contagious, and soon any thoughts of Bella had vanished completely from her mind. Really, she was lucky to have at least one family member who supported her and was happy for her and Ted. It was more than she had expected when she first started seeing Ted. And yet, even knowing the risks, she had plunged in anyway. She had not been able to resist Ted from the very beginning.
"That sounds wonderful, Cissa. I'd love it if you could help with the decorating. But we'll have to be really careful so that you don't get caught. Just because I'm OK with being an outcast doesn't mean I want the same thing for you. You have a future with Lucius, and I don't want to ruin that for you."

Hearing that she would have to be careful, Narcissa waved her hand. "Don't worry about me being caught. That won't happen." She was very confident in her skills for sneaking around and not being caught. "And don't worry about ruining anything with Lucius." Luckily, Lucius was understanding when it came to this sort of thing. Also, Narcissa was really confident in her practicing Occulemcy with Severus. So far it was going fairly well and she hoped that she could become strong enough to keep anyone out of her thoughts, even Lord Voldemort himself.
"Everything will be alright even with Lucius. We're going to have a lot of fun decorating!"
