"That's what I was thinking," Aurelia said, sighing. "I want him to know, but... it seems like it's too much to tell him just now. And Dani... I don't even know how I'm supposed to tell her. Pavel was awful and he was a terrible father... but he's the only father she's ever known. It might confuse her to know that he might not really be her father. And besides... she might tell Henri, and she wouldn't understand if I asked her not to. I feel like I should wait on telling her, too. But I have to tell her something..."

"You don't want to get her hopes up, either, Aurelia. What if you tell her and it turns out Pavel really is her father? She'd be heartbroken."
It was a rough place that Aurelia found herself in, but she had love all around her. There was so much good happening for her that even despite how confusing things seemed, she could be nothing but happy for her friend.
"It's all amazing, though. That you found each other, that Dani likes him, all of it. Embrace it and don't let it slip by you. I'll be here for you."

"Exactly," Aurelia replied. "That was actually why I never had a test done to find out if Pavel was really her father or not. Before I left him... One time, when I had to take Dani to the hospital for one of her seizures... I found out that they could test to see if Pavel was her father... but I decided I didn't want to know. I'd rather believe that Henri is her father." She smiled sadly. "Not that I would love her any less if Pavel was really her father..."
She took a sip of her tea, then looked up, her smile brightening. "I feel better now that I've talked to you about it. I guess I just needed to get some of these things off of my chest, you know? And you're right... it's amazing to have this second chance. I don't know how it happened, but it's a good thing."
