"If that's what you think it was, then I won't crush your hopes," Hayden said with a light smile. For a quiet person, he could joke around from time to time. He really let himself go around his cousin but that was a little different from the three people standing with him. These other people were the people he spent seven years living with during school.
Hayden gave a nod to the two others in greeting. "How has everyone been?"

"Yeah, you just can't deny that I have a magnetic personality," Damon said, waving his hand in front him. The three of them really were so much more serious than he was, and sometimes he wondered whether they would have all been as close through the years at school if not for him. He was the one who drew them out, joked around with them and made them laugh.
"I can tell you how everyone's been, including you," he continued, answering Hayden's question. "You lot have all been working too hard. And I've been goofing off enough for the three of you combined. But you're in luck, because I am apparently about to become gainfully employed, so maybe now we can all achieve a nice balance. Starting with this weekend. What do you say? I'll drag you all out for a night at the club, and I'll do my best to get you all hooked up before the end of the night."

"I told you," T finally spoke up. "I TOLD you they'd show up," he laughed loudly. "And power of your presence? I do believe I was the first one here..." he smiled.
"How are you guys?" T asked, scotting his chair slightly so that Hayden and Sean had room to join them. "Damon here just decided that he needs to take us all to a club 'cause we're no fun," he said.

Damon's thinking was probably correct. Hayden probably wouldn't have said much to T nor Sean if it hadn't been for Damon. It was just who he was and he was glad there was actually someone there that got him to talk from time to time.
Hearing T, Hayden gave another laugh and shook his head then looked back to Damon. It was true, he worked a lot, just like T and Sean. If Hayden didn't have his work then he wouldn't really have anything. "A night at the club," he asked looking at his friend questioningly. Hayden and a club didn't go together all that well. He wasn't much of a dancer nor was he much of one to just go up to a girl and start talking to her.

Damon saw the look on Hayden's face and could almost hear the excuses that would inevitably follow. Well, he wasn't going to accept them this time. Hayden was going to go out and have fun, even if Damon had to drag him out kicking and screaming.
"Oh, no. Don't give me that look. You are going out with us. If not the club, then at least to one of the pubs. I know you go out drinking sometimes, at least. Is there somewhere in particular that you'd rather go to?"

Hayden knew that there wasn't any way that he could step around Damon. Damon knew him fairly well and Hayden also knew that Damon wouldn't have any problems with literally dragging him out.
With the question about a particular place, he gave a shrug. "I don't know," he said. He couldn't very well just spit out Stu's. If he did, Hayden knew that there would more than likely be questions and he didn't feel like answering any that could be formed from suggestions like that. "If you want to go to the club, I can't promise any dancing but I'll go."

Sean almost laughed, keeping the comment to himself that he was the psychic one of the group... kind of. It was a fact he never openly discussed with them, only Dan. But they knew a little- after being friends for years, they knew.
But his smile quickly dropped at Damon's idea. A club was probably the worst idea Damon could have come up with. He did it once and met Paige, who he considered to be a friend now at least, but having that many people around that he could bump into and touch... it wasn't a good idea.
"I think I'll have to pass on that one, Damon. But have fun, anyway."

“Oh, Sean, you’re killin’ me here,” Damon said, rolling his eyes dramatically. “You guys have got to get out. I’m serious, I’ll drag you out by your hair if I have to. But OK, you guys don’t like the club… that’s cool. We can go out for drinks. Anywhere but the Three Broomsticks… I think I’m still banned from there. Long story, you don’t want to know about it, I’m sure. We could go to the Leaky Cauldron… or, hey, what about Stu’s? There’s this bartender there… really cute. I keep asking her out and she keeps saying no… maybe one of you guys will have better luck. Come on, what do you say?”

"You got banned from the three broomsticks?" T asked in slight disbelief. "what did you do? hit on a waitress in front of her boyfriend and end up in a fight?" he asked; shaking his head.
"Drinks I think I can handle, as long as there aren't a lot of people," T was way too shy for even the smallest of crowds, which is why one wouldn't go looking for him at a club. "Stu's sounds good, haven't really been there in a while, what do you say to that Sean? Hayden?"

Damon laughed. “Yeah, something like that. It’s kind of a long story, and I’m sure you all don’t really want to hear about it.”
While the three of them needed him to drag them out and make them do fun things once in a while, he needed them, too. He could be pretty wild at times, and their influence help keep him grounded much of the time. If not for the three of them back at school, he probably would have done something to get himself expelled. It wasn’t that he was bad; he just liked to have fun and sometimes didn’t know when he’d gone too far. T, Sean, and Hayden helped pull him back from that edge.
“Come on, you two. I’m not taking no for an answer.”

Knowing the fact that Damon was banned from the Three Broomsticks, it made him shake his head. It wasn't surprising news to be honest.
"Stu's sounds good with me," he spoke up. Of course Hayden knew that Damon wouldn't take no for an answer and he would literally pull him out of his appartment. Roland had done this several times before and Damon had done it at least once. Now, however, Hayden seemed just a little more open to go out. "Sean, you can't leave me alone with these two. Knowing them, they'd drag me up to sing or something."

"Guys..." Sean trailed off, the look on his face clearly saying that he didn't want to go to Stu's, or any other bar or club. They just usually didn't work out well for him... but then, with as much as he kept to himself, how did he expect them to know that?
He sighed. "Yeah yeah, fine. I'll go. For a little bit, but you'll understand if I have to leave earlier than you guys do. I am constantly on call, you know." He gave them a half teasing look, but it was half serious, too. Hayden would understand.
Speaking of Hayden... he turned to the Auror. "And since when did you get so keen to go out? Eager to try your luck with the pretty barmaid that keeps turning Damon down?" he added with a little laugh.

Had Hayden still been in school, Sean's question would have made him blush ten shades of red. However, thankfully he did have Roland around because sometimes his cousin would joke around with him similarily from time to time, and Hayden became used to it.
To Sean's first question, he gave a shrug. "I don't know. I just figured that going out for a drink from time to time doesn't hurt anything. Besides, staying at home during the time I'm not working is just sort of boring." Hayden chose his words carefully. The last time he talked with Nathalia, that was interesting. She had pretty much offered herself to him but Hayden didn't take that opportunity. He wasn't sure how things were going to be the next time he really spoke to her, but he wanted to find out. This news, however, Hayden wasn't about to spill to his friends. Not even Roland knew about that.
He allowed a smile to cross his face when Sean laughed. "I'm just looking forward to a night to go out with the people I rarely get to see anymore."

"I've never understood why we can't all just spend a night *in*," Sean muttered, but it was half in jest. He rain a hand through his blonde hair, wishing he could get more sleep than he had been getting lately. Hayden looked tired, too, but at least in good spirits.
T and Damon both looked enviably well rested, and Sean was a little jealous.
"Listen, if we're deciding on Stu's, I absolutely refuse to sing. Merlin help any of you that make me try, too.."

Hayden was in good spirits because he was around the guys he considered to be the closest people to him other than family.
"I'm with Sean on that one. There is no way in the world I'm singing either." That was one thing that Hayden would not do. He was too shy when it came to something like that and he already knew that he didn't have much of a singing voice.
He knew that nights out with them would be those long nights. Some how he was going to have to have enough energy in order to make it through the night. Damon wouldn't just allow him to just sit there and be in his own bubble.

Honestly, what was he going to do with these guys? They always seemed to be making excuses to get out of doing anything fun. A least T wasn't complaining, but Hayden and Sean were just absolutely hopeless. Anyone less stubborn than he was would have given up on them already. But for Damon, their steadfast refusal to take part in anything resembling fun was only further proof that they needed this badly.
"OK, fine," he said. "No singing. I promise, I can sing off-key enough for all three of you combined. But you are each going to have at least three drinks, and you're going to have fun. Ideally, you'll each go home with a girl on your arm, but at the very least, you are going to loosen up and have fun. Got that?"

Hayden gave a light laugh. "Okay, three drinks I can handle." He knew that Damon was stubborn enough not to take no for an answer. Although, Hayden was a little unsure of how the ideal part was going to go. He doubted that he would end up leaving with some girl on his arm.
"And loosening up that's okay too. We'll have fun like we used to." They all needed a night out to have fun, even Hayden could admit that. They were all so caught up in their own lives that they didn't get to go out a whole lot but he knew that they were going to end up having fun. He just hoped that he wasn't going to end up drinking too much.

T was usually quiet, known to go into contemplation about little things. He finally decided to speak up again. "Who said anything about singing in the first place?" T laughed. "I'm sure Stu wouldn't want our ugly mugs up on his stage anyway, our singing alone would scare away the customers."
He agreed that the four of them needed to losen up a bit. True, he didn't have the most demanding job like Hayden and Sean, who worked for the ministry. But his job at the library did keep him busier that Damon at least.
"yea, like we used to when we were 16," T agreed. "Life wasn't as hectic then, was it?" he wondered aloud. He vaugely remembered thinking life could only get easier when they got older. Now he only wished they could be kids again.

Sean alone was frowning. Not because he didn't like the idea of hanging out with his three best friends. It sounded great, and Merlin knew he didn't relax enough. It was just... difficult for him, too. Things were constantly pressing in on him.
So he didn't say it, but his stipulations for them going out were no singing, one drink, and no girls. He felt guilty enough planning to have fun when he was still on a case. They didn't even know if the girl was still alive or not, and he'd just come from the mother's... It didn't seem fair of him to not spend every second he had trying to find the girl.
He sighed. "Things were definitely simpler when we were 16. When did we turn into adults and how can we make it stop?"

“Speak for yourself,” Damon replied. “I haven’t turned into the ‘A’ word yet, and I don’t plan on it. But I’ll tell you what, you stick with me and I’ll make sure it stops. As far as I’m concerned, growing up is more trouble than it’s worth.”
Both Hayden and Sean had chosen jobs that were very serious and stressful. Yes, they were important, and he knew they were good at what they did. But when your life became all work and no play… well it was just sad. Maybe Damon needed to grow up a little, but Sean and Hayden in particular needed to “grow down.”
