“I’m glad, too,” Aurelia said, feeling her heart skip a beat at the look on his face. For a moment, she just let herself get caught up in the miracle of this situation. After all these years, Henri was back in her life, and he could still make her feel like a giddy schoolgirl. Maybe it didn’t matter if it wasn’t the way it was before. Maybe all that mattered was that they were together now.
“It’s so odd… when Dani told me about her new friend Henri… I assumed it was another student. I never even thought to ask. And then I told her a little about you. Who would have guessed we were talking about the same person?”

Hearing that they talked about him made his ears burn. His smile turned almost shy. "The universe has a funny things of making things work out," he said, repeating his mother's words to him. Henri couldn't describe the feeling he got, knowing that after all these years, Aurelia still held onto the memories of him. It made him want to try harder to remember.
The Black Cat apartments came up too fast. Henri stopped as they reached it and gave a sigh. "Maybe, on Friday, if you have time, we could grab tea, a late lunch, or something like that? We don't have to if you don't want to." Henri didn't want to push Aurelia into doing something that she didn't want to do, it was just an open invitation if she wanted to.

Aurelia's smile was warm. She wished she could stay with him, to talk and make the years that stood between them disappear. He was back in her life again, and even as he stood in front of her, she was having a hard time letting herself believe it. Would she wake up again at any moment?
"I would like that very much," she said.
She reached out a hand to him, feeling shy as she touched his face. "I still can't believe it's really you..."

Henri smiled again at her response. Maybe this was the reason why he hadn't dated in so long. He couldn't ever explain the reason as to way he didn't feel like going out on dates, but now it seemed like he couldn't wait to go on one.
He stood still as he noticed her hand reaching up. When her hand made contact with his cheek, Henri felt a sudden rush of warmth. His smile widened. "I'm not going to be running off any where anytime soon, so you'll have time to get around believing it," he said with a somewhat teasing tone in his voice in an attempt to make her smile.
His smile slowly faded. "I'm sorry for pain I've caused," he said with his voice turning soft. "Je verrai que je peux faire pour faire des choses mieux."

"You don't need to make things better," Aurelia said, translating for him. Thanks to him, her understanding of French was almost as good as her understanding of English. The only reason she knew English so well was because she had lived here for so long. But her understanding of French, that was all because of him.
"It wasn't your fault. I'm certain of it now. I don't know what happened, but I really believe you would not have left on your own. We'll figure this out, somehow. Together."
A thrill went through her at that word. She was finally together with him, after so long. She had almost given up hope...
"I will see you Friday."

The word together sent a shiver up Henri's spine. It wasn't one of those fearful or dreadful shivers. It was some what of a thrill. Henri couldn't explain why he was glad to hear that word but he wasn't going to question it.
He wanted to find out everything. If the memory charm couldn't be reversed, he could get stories they shared from Aurelia.
As she said her goodbye, Henri felt the urge to hug her, but he wasn't sure if that would be alright or not, so we resisted his urge and dug one of his hands deeper into his pocket.
"Je vous verrai vendredi Aurelia," he said with a trace of a smile.

There it was. The way he said her name and and it sound like a love poem. It sent a shiver down her spine, but in a good way.
She reached out impulsively and took his hand in hers for a long moment, just holding it and feeling the warmth of his skin. Even his hand felt familiar, and she couldn't help but remember all the times he had touched her with it, from the innocent touches on her cheek, to the more intimate ones.
"I can't wait," she said at last. "Au revoir."
She slipped into the French for just a moment. Her French had never been very good; she could understand it but never speak it very well. The smooth, flowing words were so different from the harsh staccato of her native Czech. English was easier to speak.
With a sigh, she turned and opened the door to the apartment building. "Thank you again."

Aurelia's hand was extremely soft as she took his hand. It made his hand feel funny, but he couldn't hide the smile. Henri squeezed her hand gently, enjoying the feel of her hand.
"Au revoir," he repeated. He didn't make a comment about her French. It sounded good to him and he liked the way she spoke. "No problem," said Henri slowly letting her hand go. He watched her enter the apartment building and he waved at her before she was gone out of sight.
His smile remained on his face. He was already ready for Friday to come. Henri turned away from the Black Cat Apartments before he cast another glance back, then started on his way back to his place.
