"Oh right, we were recalling how much of a bully you were when we were kids," Collin laughed. Really, he had been picked on a lot, even with his older brother around. A price to pay for being in Slytherin, Cillian had said once.
Out of the corner of his eye, Collin saw that Kyle was still nearby. Collin leaned in very close to Lyra and whispered. "I think our new 'friend' over there is watching you," he said quietly, so as not to be heard by Kyle. Really, there was no reason for Collin to dislike the Landers kid. It was just that, he didn't really like many people, he had his small handful of friends, Noah, Lyra, Collette, Ashton etc... and he didn't see why he should be bothered to care about or even awknowledge anyone else.
Before he could turn and tell off Kyle for staring, his eye caught Brenda comming down the stairs from the boys dorms. She was most likely just with Cameron, and Collin made a sort of huff noise that was supposed to be a quiet laugh. He smiled at her as she came towrd them. "Hey," he said cooly. "naw, I don't mind." He said, not even addressing Lyra to ask if she cared.

Lyra eyes shifted from Collin to Kyle and back again, a smirk playing on her lips. Kyle was but a child so the fact that he was watching her was funny. She was going to comment on this when Brenda intruded on them. Lyra wanted to shoo the girl away, but Collin seemed to think she was friendly enough to keep around. Collin was wrong. Lyra knew that. But she wasn't about to start something in the middle of the common room. She had learned that lesson well. "Hello Brenda," Lyra said somewhat coldly. "Been playing in the boys' room, have we?"

Kyle looked over at Brenda, not saying a thing, he gave a curt nod and then turned his attention back to the others.
He had mostly just heard rumors about her, but none of it was to pleasing to hear, well for the most part. Of course he didn't care, people could live their life however they wanted.
The cigarette sounded nice actually, but if his old man ever found out that he smoked now and then, he would have a sound beating planned rather quickly. Of course his dad tended not to go for such things, but sometimes particular subjects set him of. Something about his mother making him quit and him thinking of his son doing what his mother wouldn't have wanted. Of course his dad would never slug him, more shaking and shoving. His dad may have change since his mother died, but he wasn't a monster like some people's fathers. He had seen the damage they had done.
Out of the corner of his eyes, he saw Lyra's eyes pass between himself and Kyle, but the implication of the subject was lost on him. His mind was wandering again and he proceeded to glance over at the fire place, wondering if Lyra was going to chase off Brenda or not. However, Kyle it seemed didn't mind her presence. Of course he was the kid their so nobody could have cared less about his decision, especially since only a few moments ago he was about ready to ditch ship himself.

Brenda gave Collin a flirtatious smile as she sat down across from him and lit her cigarette with her wand. Collin was cute, she thought, and he was probably the only seventh year boy she hadn’t been with at least once. She was going to have to change this, but she could see from the look on his face that it wouldn’t be too difficult a task.
Then Lyra spoke, and Brenda fought off the urge to curl her lip in distaste at the sound of the girl’s voice. They may have been roommates, but they were most certainly not friends. “What’s the matter, Lyra? Jealous? If you want, I could say hi to Rystain for you next time I’m up there.”
She knew exactly what had happened between Rystain and Lyra and she had no problems with rubbing a little salt into the wound. It wasn’t like Lyra wouldn’t have tried to do the same if the situations had been reversed. The difference was, of course, that Brenda wouldn’t have been foolish enough to fall for anyone, let alone someone like Rystain.
Taking a long drag from her cigarette, she looked over at Kyle and raised an eyebrow at him. “And what are you staring at, kid?”

Poor little Kyle had all sort of choice words and snide jokes towards her. But it did little use against a girl like that. No doubt she was proud of what she did. He knew how guys thought, he was one after all, and yeah something about that was exciting, but even he had some morals about such things. The list he had heard that she was slowly scratching off would have been as tall as him by the sounds of it.
There he sat though, not wishing to say anything to her. So he shrugged and huffed out, turning his attention to the others. What he would have liked to do was flip her the bird and to get lost, but he doubted Collin would be to happy with him, as if Collin wanted him around anyways.
Thats how things went he supposed, and when he gt to their age he would act the same way. Thats how life was, people grow up and take the place of the people that were there before them, and as a standard mad a worse mess of things.
Leave off, or I'm going to huff and puff back Ms. Big Bad Wolf, he thought to himself.
If there was one thing, it was unafraid of her. Not a lot frightened him, because he was either too foolhardy or occasionally just too angry to give two thoughts to it.

Brenda arched her eyebrow as the kid ignored her. If there was one thing Brenda couldn't stand, it was being ignored. She didn't care if people said bad things about her, just so long as they were talking about her. She did what she did largely for the attention, and if she didn't get it, she acted even worse. This time was no exception, even though the person in question was only a 14 year old kid.
"What's the matter, kid? Forget how to talk? I asked you a question." She leaned forward, allowing a generous view of her cleavage, then blew a cloud of smoke in his direction.

That down right angered Kyle. He had tried to do the right thing and keep his temper in check, but no she had to push it just a little to far. Kyle did not like getting pushed around, and if his dad's Quidditch career had taught him anything, it was if someone shoved you, you shoved right back.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I thought you might have had enough brains behind that make up to realize I wasn't interested in talking to you. Piss off Brenda."
It came out with his eyes glaring at her something fierce. Why did everyone feel the need to bother him with their trival nonsense. She probably just wanted his attention, she was such an attention whore after all.
Of course saying such to her could have been one of the largest mistakes in his life, but at the moment, it felt rather good. If she felt the need to be pissy with him, he planned on being downright mean. She didn't matter to him in the least, so he turned back away from her.
He mouthed sorry to Collin. It wasn't really right to get him in trouble with her, but she was being an uptight pain, and he had a low threshold for stupid.

But if Kyle thought Brenda was going to escalate things even more, he was mistaken. The insult aside, all she had really wanted from the kid was to get a rise out of him. If she couldn't turn someone on, she wanted to make them angry, to outrage them to the point where they would just get all upset and start yelling. At least, this was true of boys. She was more likely to fight with the girls; they were petty and whiny and sometimes just as nasty as herself.
She let out a deep, throaty laugh. "Oh, so the pup's get a temper, huh? Well, aren't you just precious? No need to get all huffy, kid. I don't bite. Unless you want me to."

Collin was shaking with fits of laughter. The more Kyle agued, the more cool Brenda was. Collin found the whole exchange rather entertaining.
"Cool it Landers," Collin said firmly. "just ignore him Brenda, we have been," Collin said, gesturing between himself and Lyra.

But Brenda loved to stir up trouble. It simply wasn't in her nature to just ignore someone. If someone was annoying her, she let them know it. And even if they weren't, she felt it was her duty to annoy them instead. Kyle was just lurking in a vaguely creepy manner, and she wasn't about to give him a pass on that.
She blew some more smoke in the boy's direction, then smiled, showing off her even, white teeth. "He looks like he can't decide if he wants to join us or run away. Come on, kid, come over here, why don't you? Don't be scared."

"Oh look, you;ve stunned the thing to silence," Collin said, smiling at Brenda. "Probably never had anyone ever talk to him that long with out threatening to throw his lunch in the lake," Collin chuckled. He looked over at Kyle and sneered. The kid had a lot to learn.
Collin's whole focus had been set on Brenda, and he hardly noticed that Lyra was next to him now, except for the fact that the seat beside him on the couch was taken. "What are you planning for the rest of the day Brenda," Collin asked, leaning back casually.

Brenda smirked and turned her attention back to Collin. If the little brat was going to sit there and be mute, then so be it. She had more interesting things to do, anyway.
Such as Collin.
"Oh, I don't know," Brenda said in an airy tone. "I think I'm supposed to have some classes or something, but I don't really care. I think I'll just have Daffy do my homework for me, anyway. And I might have another go-round with Cameron... the poor dear needs a little rest, though. What about you, Collin? Besides hassling Fourth years, what are your plans for today?"
She was completely ignoring Lyra by now as well. She'd never known Lyra to hold her tongue so long, but maybe the whole incident with Rystain and Lani had left her confidence shaken. It didn't really matter to Brenda; as far as she was concerned, it was better if the brunette stayed silent.

"Nothing too exciting," he said. "I only had one class today and I slept through it. Oh well, who needs Divination anyway," Collin didn't really feel too dissapointed to be missing the class. Because he was just going to end up working in the shop with his parents, brother, and the Burkes after he graduated, Collin didn't care too much about school work these days.
"Other than that its just been a lazy day," He said. He looked up at the door which was the entrance to his dorm room that he shared with Cameron and the other Seventh year boys and smirked. Brenda wasn't really the only female visitor the boys had had up there, but Collin wasn't stupid, and he knew what had been going on in his dormatory earlier.

Brenda didn't really care much about the future, either. She rather figured that her father would probably marry her off to some rich old wizard who would be too blind to realize that she was fooling around with the gardener. But for now, she was free and she intended to enjoy it.
"You know what?" she said, casting a disdainful look at Lyra, who was still sitting mutely next to Collin. "You wanna get out of here? We could go for a little walk around the castle. I'm bored."

"Um..." Collin looked around the common room and then glanced at Lyra. She wouldn't mind right? Really, they weren't really doing anything all too interresting in the first place. She could find something else to do whilst he went off with Brenda.
"Sure, why not," Collin said to Brenda, getting up off the couch. "I'll see you later Lyra," he grined at her for a second before leaving the common room with Brenda.

Brenda smiled sweetly, giving Lyra a little wave. Lyra had just basically allowed her to whisk Collin away and hadn’t even bothered to fight it.
Once they were out of the common room, Brenda turned to Collin and ran her hand up his chest. Her eyes took on a flirtacious look as she began to lick her lips seductively. “I thought we’d never lose those gits,” she said, winking. “Why don’t we go up to the Room of Requirement? I have a need for something… namely, you.”
(I say we move this to a separate thread now)

Collin grinned wryly at Brenda as she ran her hands along his chest. Unlike how he earlier looked back to see if Lyra minded their leaving, Collin didn't second guess himself when he nodded earnestly. So what if his roomate was seeing her. They all basically "shaerd" anyway.
"Sure, sounds good," he said coolly. He smirked and turned, following her to the Room of Requirement.
(sure, good idea, after you)

Lyra had sat silently, attempting to ignore Brenda's presence which was quite hard seeing as she had taken over her friend's attention. At least in her silence they were taking the mickey out that Kyle. She didn't mind him too much, but he was getting to be a nuisance. Once the kid was out of the picture, and Collin and Brenda seemed to be having their own little conversation, Lyra went back to thumbing through her magazine.
She decided not to pay Brenda any mind when suddenly she and Collin were leaving. She gawked at Collin but then shrugged. She gave a slight wave along with a roll of her eyes as he left with that blonde harlot. What was with all these damned blondes anyway?
After a moment longer of flipping through her magazine, and Kyle still sulking between her seat and his previous one, she got up and went to her dormitory. If she knew Brenda the girl wouldn't be back there until later, so Lyra might have a chance at peace for a bit.
