He was glad that June at least knew what his opinion was about Talon. Al could tolerate him from time to time (mainly because he had too), and he also felt that Talon was just nice to him because he was part of June's family.

"Well, don't fret if he doesn't ask you to marry him. It's perfectly fine if he doesn't, besides, that gives me more chances to just kidnap you. And I will be expecting some kind of contact if there is any treasure, because you know that I'll be there in a heart beat." June's question made Al give a gasp. He put a hand on his chest. "Why would you ever think that? Me take you somewhere where there could be hidden treasure?" He looked at her surprised, then gave a shrug, letting the surprise slip from his face. "I don't know, besides even if I tell you yes or no, that's telling you something and I can't do that. That's the whole point of kidnapping, you don't know where you're going. It'll be a surprise!"

June, unfortunately, was well aware of what everyone's opinion of Talon was. She hated that she had to keep her friends away from Talon because he would get jealous, and her family because they didn't like him. She loved him, though... and why couldn't anyone just put up with it for her sake?

"You know I want to get married eventually, Al," she told him, raising her eyebrows slightly. "And no, I'm not ready now, and I know he's not, but if Talon ever asks, I'll say yes."

She then exaggerated a sigh. "You're killing me here. You know I'll be curious about this place for however long it takes you to take me there! that's hardly fair."

“Well, if he asks you causing you to say yes, then I’ll still be at your wedding. I can’t let my Juney have her wedding without me there.” Al winked.

“See, that’s the whole point. You’re supposed to be curious and excited about going. I can’t tell you of the place. It wouldn’t be right if I told you because then one, that’s the whole point of kidnapping, you not knowing where you’re going, and then it wouldn’t be a surprise.” At the moment, Al wasn’t even sure of the specific place where he would be taking June eventually but he had somewhat of a general idea.

“By the way, it is completely fair, that’s why it’s called a surprise.”

June smiled, relenting, and nodded. "Thank you. You know someone has to be there to walk me down the isle, right?"

The question may have sounded like a joke, and for now, it may as well have been. Any wedding was a good distance off in the future, if it ever happened. When and if it did, she would worry about all those details- but she hoped that, one day, she would be able to seriously ask Al if he would walk her down the isle.

"Al," she said, her eyesbrows raising as she leaned forward slightly in her seat. "You know better than anyone that I can't stand surprises. Especially when people tell me about them ahead of time. I'll be dying of curiosity until you come kidnap me. I might very well have wasted away from the anxiety by then."
