Hayden left quickly and walked with a hurried step through the hospital. Hopefully he would find Riley. As he reached the right wing, he headed straight to the desk however Riley hadn't been seen coming in but Hayden peeked into Geoffrey's room anyway just to see if they missed her. No such luck. He wasn't going to bother Geoffrey's sleeping form. The poor boy didn't need to be worried anymore.
On his way out he thanked the lady at the desk then walked just as quickly out as he did in. Returning to the ministry, Hayden didn't bother hiding his worried look. He gave a shake of his head, he hadn't been lucky either.

Kit was the last one to return alone. Like everyone else, she really hadn't expected to have any luck finding her. Where ever she had gone, it seemed like it was either a place where she didn't want to be found, or where someone else didn't want her to be found.
Looking at everyone standing there, looking worried, she sighed. "So now what?"

Ted's heart was falling with ever person that returned, and he was growing increasingly worried. He didn't think Riley was going to be found.
He sank into the nearest seat, running his hand through his hair. It was his fault she was gone. he should have been watching her more carefully, or had someone else keeping an eye on her. Now, she was Merlin knows where. Was she hurt? In danger? Worse, was she dead?
He looked helplessly at Angelique, unsure what to do.

When Angelique saw them all gathered, she came back in to the main office, swilling a bottle of headache potion. "I take it no one had any luck?" she said, shaking her head.
She sighed and sat down on the edge of the nearest desk, which happened to be the empty desk that had once been occupied by Roland Ferrera. "OK, look. Clearly she doesn't want to be found. She's a grown woman... we can't go running all over London looking for her. Here's what we're going to do. I'm going to alert the MLE of a possible missing person. They can run routine sweeps that we can't. They'll keep an eye out for her, and that's really all we can do right now. I know you're worried... and honestly, so am I. But we're getting nowhere fast."

"Unless someone took her, and she does want to be found," Ted suggested. That's what he was worried about.
He leaned back in the chair he had sunk into and sighed again. He kept all of the guilt to himself. "Maybe we're all wrong. Maybe she'll be back in a couple of hours and it will have all been a mistake."
It was evident that he didn't believe that, though, and he rubbed his eyes. "So we just wait?"

"I saw her leave of her own free will," Arthur said. "I mean, I suppose it's possible that she was under a spell, but I think someone would have seen something if that were the case. The only thing I'm worried about is the possibility that where ever she went, she ran into some kind of trouble."
He sighed. "Look, I wasn't going to say this, but I don't think Riley has been staying at her apartment since Roland died. I think she was spending her nights somewhere else. Maybe that's where she went. Maybe it's some place safe, and she just didn't tell anyone because she didn't want anyone to stop her."

Ted barely responded to what Arthur said, other than to sigh for the millionth time. "She should have told someone. How are we supposed to help her if she gets attacked?"
He glanced at Angelique again, and then at everyone else who had helped looked for Riley. There was nothing more they could do, and Angelique seemed less concerned than he thought she might be. And at least Vincent knew, too.
"All right," he said. "But can someone tell me if they see her?"

Angelique was actually more concerned than she was letting on. Her behavior lately had been troubling enough, but with the attack and now the disappearance... she was extremely worried. But it wasn't going to do anyone any good to send the entire auror department off to find her. Missing persons cases were more the jurisdiction of the MLE. And there was still a chance that Riley would turn up again.
"All right, everyone," she said. "I'll go talk to the MLE. The rest of you.... get back to work. I'll let you know if we hear anything."
She sighed, then got up and headed over to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
