Geoffrey looked up at his uncle as he entered the room. The man truly did seem to slip in and out with an effortless grace, and he always knew what was going on in the house. If Edward hadn't been such a kind and polite man, it might have made Geoffrey nervous.
"Hi, Uncle Edward," he said. His smile was slight, given the subject matter they were discussing. "I'm glad you're OK with it. You don't mind if my friend Riley stays a while, too, right? I think she needs the company."

"Of course not. It'll be a pleasure to see Miss Nieves again." he said with a commanding smile. "Your other uncle's still here, as is his house guest, and I like nothing more than a full house." his grin and manner were completely contagious and his presence swallowed the room in energy. Edward was one of those people who refused to let things stand in his way, that part of him had been broken for so long when there was nothing he could do about Samantha, but now that he had her back it seemed only natural that he would revert to form.

Geoffrey smiled. "Great, thanks," he said to his uncle. "It sounds like things will be pretty busy around here. That's a good thing... maybe it'll shake Christine out of her depression. Something has to work."
Uncle Edward was so much more upbeat these days, and he knew it was because of Samantha. All the family togetherness could only help improve all of their moves.
"I should actually get going... I have to pack a few things. Riley and I will probably move in tomorrow night."

He gave his nephew a small nod, acompanied by an even smaller smile. Something to shake that girl out of her doldrums but he didn't know what to do, perhaps company would work.
"We'll be looking forward to it." he nodded, " And I'll tell Jenson to air out one of the guestrooms." his staff was certainly up to the task, "You will of course take your old room." he nodded more and more planning in his mind, " and we'll have a small dinner to celebrate your visit. Nothing showy of course, but something to uh..put Riley at ease and make her feel welcome."

Geoffrey could almost see the wheels turning in his uncle's mind and it made him smile. Uncle Edward was always so organized, always planning and thinking. It was the reason he mostly ran the family business, because he was the man with the vision. Geoffrey admired that about him; he had a sense of purpose. Sometimes Geoffrey wasn't entirely sure what his purpose was. He knew it wasn't working at the Floo Network. But he wasn't sure it was in the shipping business, either. But that was the reason he had chosen the job in the Ministry--because he wanted to try things out and find his own place.
"That would be great, Uncle Edward," he said. "I'm sure Riley will appreciate it."
He turned back to his mother and gave her a quick hug. "I'll see you tomorrow, Mum. Thanks again."

Edward nodded toward Geoffrey and bid him farewell before turning to Lillian and offering her his arm. They could have tea and settle down. Lord knew her nerves were strung with the attack and with her nephew's death. Edward wished there was more he could do, but as it had been proven to him time and again with his own daughter, he was no match for fate.
