Cameron was not deterred by her chastisement. In fact, he grinned wider. "It's not a job for a proper lady, but then again, well behaved women rarely make history."
If she could criticise him for his manners, he could feed it right back. They both had extremes, he figured, though ultimately, he didn't think his manners were really that bad.
"You could always try it with me, and then decide if you liked it. It's rather presumptuous of you to assume you wouldn't want to do it with me." He raised his eyebrows as if making a good, solid point.

Savannah lifted her chin slightly. "That does not make any sense," she told him.
Sometimes she wasn't sure what he was going on about. It was almost like he was fishing for ways to include her in the conversation, just because it annoyed her. Was he making fun of her? Did he want her to get annoyed?
"Anyway, I suppose whatever job I do would probably be up to my husband. If I ever have one."
