Sitting Alone (Lily, Kris, Marauders?)

[Remus Lupin]

Remus walked into the dining hall alone. It was a bit early for dinner yet, but the activities had ended early, and Remus felt like he'd rather be alone in the dining hall than hanging out in the cabin with that jerk Dean. He was feeling particularly sad today. He couldn't stop thinking about Sabrina and how he wished she were here with him. It just wasn't fair that she had died so young. No one so young and pretty should ever have to die, he thought.

He sat down in the far corner and leaned his head against his hand. In truth, he was already tired of camp, and just wanted to go home.

[potter]

After seeing Remus disappear into the Dining Hall after the activities, James decided to follow him and take a break from from the regular camp life with Dean and all of his other teammates. Once he walked into the room, he saw Remus sitting at the corner of one of the tables. He seemed to be deep in thought.

James quietly walked up to Remus and sat next to him. "Hey," He said, smiling slightly. "What's on your mind?"

[Remus Lupin]

Remus looked up at James and smiled slightly. "Oh, just... things. I guess I'm just a little homesick. I mean, even though I'm mad at my father right now. And I was thinking about Sabrina."

[Kris Lupin]

Kris walked into the dining hall not really sure what else to do. She looked around then saw Remus, he had been through more then she had, probably more then anyone. She walked over to him and his friend. "Hey, Remus."

[Remus Lupin]

Remus shrugged. "Hey, Kris," he said. He stuffed his hands in his robe pockets and stared down at the table. "I was just saying that I was thinking about Sabrina. I wish you could have known her. I wish she was still here."

[Kris Lupin]

"I met her once, it wasn't long after she and you broke up, listen, I just want to apologize for the way I told you I was your sister, I really was just trying to figure out how to tell you by making it sound like it was someone else, I slipped up when I..err..." Kris glanced at James. "....mentioned the family secret." She didn't know if James knew or not but she wasn't going to be the one to tell him. "I envy you, Remus, you knew dad...and you still know him better then I do..." She hung her head, she was kinda wishing she hadn't signed up for camp, she hadn't seen Sirius so far. She knew she needed to meet and talk to other people but she didn't know what to say.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus shrugged. "It wasn't your fault. Dad should have told me. I'm still mad at him for keeping it from me. You were in a weird position. I probably would have felt the same way if I were in your shoes. I just can't believe Dad would keep something like that from me!"

[Kris Lupin]

"I know, giving me away didn't help, did it?" Kris said almost bitterly.

[Remus Lupin]

Remus shook his head. "No, I guess it didn't. I'm sorry. I wish... I wish I could have helped you." He sighed. "I wish a lot of things were different. I swear, when I get older... I want to fight to make things better."

[potter]

James watched intently as Remus and Kris carried on their conversation. He was slightly confused with all of the talk about their family and a certain "family secret". He couldn't recall ever being told about one of Remus's "family secrets". Deciding not to trouble Remus even more, he ignored the thought. "Well, all of this emotional talk is making me sad. So can we, maybe talk about something else? I can't believe that we're all so bored already... We need something actually fun to do. This is summer.... there's no way we should be allowed to be even more troubled than we usually are during the school year."

[Remus Lupin]

Remus shrugged. "Yeah, you're right, I guess," he said. "But even though we're in a different place, it still kinda feels like we're still in school. And it's hard to have much fun when we're stuck with that jerk Dean as our team leader. We have to get rid of him somehow..."

[potter]

"I'm all for that. But I don't have many ideas for how to do it. All this depression and boredom has kinda decreased my flow of clever and tricky thoughts." James said, discouraged. He sighed lowly and looked down at the ground, trying to think up a scheme to either get rid of Dean or be separated from him. "Maybe we could develop a sudden but believable allergy to the clothes he wears or something." He suggested with a grin and a slight chuckle. "I don't know. Unless you want to try and set him up to constantly break the rules or something to get him thrown out."

[Remus Lupin]

"Remus shrugged. "Well, we know he was out in the woods last night, drinking. I don't think he was alone, either. Malfoy was looking a little unsteady this morning, too. We could try and get him in trouble for that... but I think it would be more fun to mess with him for a while. Like..." He stopped and thought for a minute. "Maybe we could put some kind of itching powder in his bed..."

[potter]

"Oh, nice one." James commented, grinning mischievously. He thought for a moment. "And then what if we enchanted his shower to only spew out Swelling Solution or something? The healers here might think he has hives or some kind of contagious rash and send him home." He added, feeling quite clever for coming up with the idea. "What do you think about that?"

[Remus Lupin]

Remus laughed. "Oh, yeah... I like that one," he said. "I wonder where we could get our hands on some Swelling Solution... I'm hopeless at potions, so I couldn't make it..." He thought suddenly of Sabrina and how she had tried to help him at potions, but he forced that thought from his mind.

[potter]

"Oh, yeah, good point. Where could we get something like that? I don't think I know anyone who's that good at potions." James said, staring off in another direction and thinking for a moment. "We could always try to see if we could get someone outside the camp to send a package of it or something. Or we could try to order it from Hogsmeade....maybe they'd have it?" He suggested, grasping at straws. The whole idea of the plan was too good to let it go to waste.

[Remus Lupin]

"Hmmm... yeah, we could see if we can order it from Zonko's," Remus said. "Maybe we should send them an owl to see if they have any of that." He glanced at his sister, who was watching quietly and not saying a word. He wondered what she thought of him for trying to play a prank on someone. But Remus decided he didn't care. Dean was a jerk and deserved whatever he got.

As Remus turned to Kris, James glanced at her also- wondering why she was being so oddly quiet. Turning back to Remus he said, "Sure. We can send an owl. I'll do it once I get back to cabin. I'll take care of the Swelling Solution and you work on the itching powder part." He suggested, grinning again at the brilliance of the plan. It was simple, but it seemed effective. He was just happy to have Remus off the topic of Sabrina for a while. "If we do do this and Dean gets sent home, who do you think they'll replace him with?"

[Remus Lupin]

"As long as it's not Malfoy, who cares?" Remus said. "I don't think anyone else could be as bad as Dean or Malfoy. Of course, if they do stick us with Malfoy, it'd be even more fun to get rid of him. We could give him something to make his hair fall out!"

[potter]

James chuckled. "I guess that would be worth-while. But I don't think they'd give us Malfoy. Maybe they'd just promote one of us? Or, at least, maybe you... I would hope that no one in their right mind would make me leader. You know I'm not quite "qualified" for that kind of stuff. Not really surprised that Rori got the spot for her group though. That seems like her kind of thing."
