Issac's eyebrows went up slightly as an amused smile crept onto his lips. He'd noticed that Shelby was a very warm and energetic woman the first time he met her, and it still held true. Before he could really even say anything, she was gone, and he almost laughed, but instead turned his attention to Leighanne.
He held out his hand. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Leighanne. I'm Isaac, like she said. I've been a waiter before, so abuse me as you like. I can take it."

Before she could even say 'bye mum', Shelby was gone. Leighanne refrained from sighing. There was something in her mother's eye that made her suspicious as to what she was really thinking. Brushing that fact off, she focused her attention to the new waiter.
She shook his hand before returning it to her side. "Well, at least we're not starting from scratch. It's not that hard to work here. You just have to make sure that you know the menu alright and are able to make any kind of suggestions the customers ask for, other than that its a piece of cake." At the mention of abusing him as she liked, Leighanne let out a small laugh. "I promise not to abuse you too much." She gave him a smile and then pointed toward the kitchen.
"I suppose we ought to get started. You can help me set the tables for the lunch crowd while I tell you a little bit about what we do. Then I can show you stuff in the kitchen if you ever need anything. Sound good?"

Isaac nodded. "Setting tables it is," he said, that ever present, polite smile painted on his lips. He definitely wanted to know his way around their kitchen, and make friends with the kitchen staff. He hoped, after proving himself for a while, that maybe Shelby would give him the oppertunity to move up.
"I've looked over the menu too... Granted, I don't have it entirely memorized, but I'm getting there." He liked to be prepared, liked to prove himself in whatever job he was in, and this was no different.

Grabbing the sliverware container off the counter, Leighanne started to walk toward one of the empty tables. "I already wrapped the sliverware last night, so all that has to be done is put it on each table." Started to take a few out then glanced up at him.
"Already," she asked impressed. "Well, I do think that you are going to do quite well here." Leighanne smiled before setting down the wrapped sliverware on the table. "So, do you have any general questions?"

Isaac shrugged. "I've had a lot of waiting experience. I try to be pretty easy going, and I learn quickly, so I hope that you'll find I do work well here." Likewise, if there was a problem, he expected to be told about it so that he could fix it quickly.
When she asked if he had any questions, he smiled and his dimples deepend. He grabbed a few things of silverware and helped her set the tables. "I do actually," he said as they worked, moving to the next table pretty quickly. "What's you're favorite dish on the menu?"
As far as waiting went, it was all pretty basic. He would get the intricacies of this particular restaurant quickly, and ask questions as he needed to. The question he asked her could have been a flirtation, as he just generally acted like that around girls, but it really served two purposes. One, it would help him get to know the menu, and two, it would help him get to know her.

At least she didn't have to start from scratch with this one. "You know, I think I like you already," Leighanne said with a laugh. "Having a quick learner does actually make things a lot easier and I know that you'll end up working out well. Mum wouldn't just chose anyone to work here."
It was true, her mother did know what she was doing even if Leighanne didn't see her meaning at first. Isaac seemed like a good addition to the staff already. Not to mention, he could be a distraction, especially with those dimples, but Leighanne was determined not to let that happen.
"My favorite dish? You have to go for the hard questions, don't you?" She looked at him teasingly. "I think that its a tie between the Cheese Ravioli and Linguini Cielo e Mare."

Isaac laughed. "Well, I do my best to be liked, that's for certain." He pulled his weight, and he never complained about it. They would both be glad that he was hired. He was a good waiter and he knew it. "At least you know I won't be so nervous my first day on that I drop a bunch or dishes or anything."
His smile softened at the teasing look she gave him, and then, more or less ignoring her answer about the her favorite, he put his hands on his hips. "Look at that... you just warmed up to me, didn't you?"

She bit the inside of her cheek to keep from blushing. "Don't let your head get to big that I answered your question, you might just float out of here," Leighanne said still teasingly. "Besides, you asked a question and I said that I would answer anything you asked." She was glad that her mother was in the kitchen at the moment, rather than where they were. Leighanne would never live that moment down.
"And what do you expect me to do? Just crack a whip and say work? And I think I should let you know that you sort of like a girly-man with your hands on your hips while you're standing like that." Leighanne gave him a wide smile before setting the table she was currently at.

Isaac grinned. So she was warming up to him, and him calling her on it made her blush. That did a lot for his self confidence, actually.
"When you first brought me over here, Ms. Leighanne, you looked like you were depressed at having to train another new waiter. And now you're joking with me. You like me. And I like that."
He laughed when she pointed out that he looked rather effiminate, and spread his feet a little, puffing out his chest. "Really? I was going for superhero. Maybe 'Girlyman' should be my superhero name."

"Well, at first I thought that I was going to have to teach you the basics," she said. "Just teaching the basics can be annoying sometimes. And Mr. Adelson, don't let the idea that I like you go to your head. I'll still crack down on you if I have to." Leighanne gave another smile.
"Superhero? Are you serious? You in tights?" She gave a small shudder to go along. At the name of 'Girlyman' being his superhero name, she rolled her eyes and threw a towel at him while she laughed. "If that was your name, then I would feel bad for you. I don't think anyone would take you seriously. Not to mention, I'm sure that that name would have the bad guys trembling."

"Tights and a cape. You can't forget the cape. You could be my sidekick. Manly-Girl. We'd be a great team." He dropped the pose and shrugged, though. "Except I don't think you could pull it off. There's nothing manly about you, doll."
He laughed and caught the towel against his chest. He was learning a lot about her in these moments, even if she didn't quite realize it. She was friendly and warm, but she hid behind her humor. He didn't know what she was hiding for, but he didn't know her well enough to pry yet.

"Oh, right, the cape. I forgot about that one. I'm sure that would add a little attraction to steer some attention away from the tights." Leighanne laughed again. "And I suppose I could take that as a compliment? I should hope there was nothing manly about me. Although, I think I am a little worried about you... I'm not sure if you really have shown any manly skills as of yet." She gave him a teasing look.
After he caught the towel, she moved on to another table and set that one as well.

"The tights would be the best part of the costume, Leighanne," Isaac said, his expression serious, though there was laughter sparkling in his eyes. "And you should let me cook for you before you decide I have no manly skills."
Maybe it was a shameless plug for himself, as he really hoped he might get the oppertunity to cook here. It was his ultimate goal... he just had to stop getting all these waiting jobs. It was getting frustrating, but he was keeping a positive attitude.
As they moved to the table, he stuffed the tail of the towel in his back pocket. "Sweetheart, there's nothing manly about you. You're a beautiful woman. Surely you know that."

Let him cook for her? The only other people that had cooked for her was her mother, the chef there, and well she didn't want to think about the third one. Glancing to him, she knew that her mother would be not so subtly telling her to let him. "I might take you up on that Mr. Adelson. After all, you do have to prove your manly skills some way or another."
At his compliment, Leighanne kept her head down for a moment while she was making sure that the napkins were neatly wrapped around the silverware. Once she was sure that there wasn't strong evidence that she had blushed, she looked up at him with a raised eyebrow, yet a teasingly look on her face. "Is that what you always do? Ask the women you work with if you can cook for them, and flatter them while you're working?" She made sure that she kept a teasing tone in her voice. After all, she didn't want to offend him. He was nice, so far at least, and there was also the fact that she would never hear the end of it from her mother...

"Looks like I'm going to have to perform a culinary miracle just to prove to you that there's a little testosterone in my blood. I can handle that."
He followed her with more silverware and napkins to the next table, watching her carefully. He saw how she looked away whenever she was complimented. What was there to be embarassed about when someone told you that you were beautiful? He didn't know.
"No, I don't," Isaac replied. "Only to the coworkers that really stop me in my tracks."

She wasn't in school anymore. Compliments shouldn't make her blush so deeply or make her ears burn like that. Right? Used to, Leighanne didn't blush deeply at compliments. She would just take them if they came her way. A dust of pink would appear on her cheeks, but she would thank them and continue on about her work or whatever she was doing. Never did she remember her ears burning so. Maybe it was because it had been so long since she had gotten a compliment, or maybe she had gotten them but now was one of the first times she was really listening.
His next words made her ears feel more on fire. She tried to play it cool or something and looked to him and smiled. "Well, I guess I would have to say thank you." Leighanne looked back to her sliverware and finished wrapping the napkins around them to match the number of chairs. "I believe its your turn to wrap the sliverware for the next couple tables," she said giving a hint of a flirty look.
"So, am I supposed to give you anything in return for this flattery? Or is it just for me to listen to, to see if you can make me blush like a school girl," Leighanne asked with a hand on her hip, still with the same hint of a flirty look.

Shelby had finished her business with the cook, and decided to do a little bit of spying. She couldn't quite help herself; she really wanted her daughter to be happy. She often tried to find a nice young man for Leighanne, but so far she had not had much luck. Until Isaac. She had liked the looks of him from the minute he came in for the interview. He was handsome, well-built, and charming, with a smile that could stop a girl's heart. What wasn't there to like?
Eager to see how Leighanne and Isaac were getting along, she strolled into the dining room, where the two of them were getting ready for the lunch crowd. It was nearly impossible to miss the tension between them and the way they were looking at each other, but Shelby smothered a smile. "How are you two doing out here?" she asked, acting as if this were strictly business. "Almost finished with the tables?"

Before she could get an answer from Issac, her mother appeared. Leighanne nearly jumped whenever Shelby came up beside them. Part of her wondered how long her mother had been standing behind them, listening and watching. She knew for sure that her mother would probably ask her about how the day went once they closed up.
"We're doing alright," Leighanne answered. "Issac has caught on fast. He does have some of the menu memorized already." She finished with the silverware at the table. "Now, the tables are finished being set. I just have a few more things to show him, like where to pick up orders. After that, we'll be ready for the dinner crowd."

"I'm all into making you blush like a school girl," Isaac replied with a smile, just before Shelby interrupted, and he stood up a little straighter, but he didn't lose his smile.
He looked at Leighanne as she told her mother that he was catching on fast, and he shrugged at Shelby. "She's bragging about me already. I think we're going to do just fine," he teased, giving her a subtle little nudge.
"Right, about this dinner rush... are we throwing me right into it?"

Even his subtle nudge made heat rise into her cheeks, but as she looked at her mother, she rolled her eyes playfully.
"I'm sure the dinner rush will be something you can handle Girly-Man," Leighanne said turning to him with a laugh. She was sure that her comment would cause her mother look at her oddly, but Leighanne couldn't help what slipped out of her mouth. Before her mother could make a comment about anything, she grabbed the silverware container and started to walk toward the front. "Come on so I can show you what is left so you'll be ready." As she passed by her mother, she tried to avoid any looks from her.
