"Andi," Ted said, smiling at her. "Don't think so much. If you do, you're going to get wise and take back your yes, and I really don't want that. The cat will be fine, and you already look beautiful. If you changed, then I have to go change and it's just going to take longer. Call me hopeless or sappy, but I really can't stand another minute without you as my wife."
His eyes were twinkling, and he was almost laughing. It was crazy, but that was the kind of love he was in.

Andi laughed. "You're crazy!" she said, throwing her arms around his neck. She kissed him deeply, then pulled away and smiled. "This is crazy... but OK. Let's go. Let's just do it."
She couldn't even believe she was considering this. And yet, nothing in her life had ever felt more right than the idea of running away with him and getting married. She giggled, feeling as giddy as a school girl. Oh, tomorrow there would be hell to pay... Molly and Alice would never forgive her for getting married without them. But right now, all she wanted was to make up for the time she'd lost with him.

"I may be crazy, but you love me," Ted replied, and he wrapped her up in his arms. "We're just going to go," he whispered, and then concentrated on a little alley that he knew of in France... he'd been by there before on one of his missions, and there was a chapel nearby. But no one ever even paid attention to that alley, and that was where they apparated to.
Ted pulled back and took her hand. "I know of a place," he told her. "You can say no if you don't like it, but it's cute and charming."

How was it that in France, even the alleys were charming? Or maybe she was just seeing it through rose-colored glasses because she was about to be married to the man she loved. It didn't really matter either way. What did matter was that she was going to marry Ted.
It was true, a hasty elopment was not how she had pictured her wedding day. But then, she was probably never going to get that picture perfect wedding. It was all a fantasy, anyway, and not real. She had imagined standing at the altar in a white dress with her mother and sisters by her side, her father giving her away... But none of that was never going to happen. Her mother was a monster, and her father just yelled a lot. Bella was... Bella. And Narcissa, the only one who would have willingly stood with her, would surely be disowned for doing it.
No, this was better. Who needed all of that, anyway? Andi didn't even like the way she looked in white. No, all she needed was the man she loved. And realizing that, she was able to let go of the childish fantasy of a family that never existed and embrace her new family. This one would be different.
There were tears of joy in her eyes as she looked up at Ted. "Anywhere is fine with me. I'd marry you right here and now if I could."

"I'm not going to marry you in an alleyway," Ted said. "I already feel bad enough about not giving you some fairytale wedding." In fact, he would probably feel bad about that for a very, very long time. He would make it up to her.
Threading their fingers together, he kissed her again, since he couldn't stay away from her, and then lead her to the little chapel. It was only a few blocks away, a short walk, but it seemed so long to Ted.
Stopping in front of it, he looked at her. "Still up for this?"

Andi smiled softly and shook her head. "Fairy tales are for children," she said. "I don't need all the frills... the white dress or the flowers. All I need is you. It's all I'll ever need."
She reached up and out her hand on his cheek, brushing her fingers against one of the scrapes that still remained from his injuries from the attack on Hogsmeade. "I could have lost you... and I never want that to happen again. Let's go... let's get married."

Ted couldn't stop smiling if he tried. Whatever he did to deserve this girl, he wished he knew. He never wanted to lose her again. He refused to let it happen, in fact, but there was still part of him that wished he could give her a more ornate ring, the frilly dress, her father walking her down the isle.
But it was out of his control. He kissed her again, and lead her to the chapel. Since it was relatively late, it was empty, save a preacher and his wife. Ted explained quickly what they wanted to do, and the preacher obliged, gesturing them up front.
His own mother was going to kill him, he realized. She hadn't even met Andi yet, and here he was, marrying her in a non-catholic church. He almost laughed. Maybe he was crazy.

Andi's only reservation was that Molly was going to kill her for eloping. No one else would really care... Maybe Narcissa, but she'd have to pretend not to. But ultimately, it wasn't about anyone else. It was about her and Ted. Those horrible, painful weeks they had been apart were now nothing more than a distant memory... just a bump in the road.
The preacher's wife whisked her off to a little antechamber off to the side of the alter, and began to fuss over her, fixing her hair and giving her a small bouquet of calla lilies which she explained had decorated the table in the hallway earlier.
A few minutes later, Andi emerged, still wearing her muggle jeans and sweater, but her hair was pinned up and adorned with daisies. She couldn't help but hum a few bars of the wedding march a she walked up to Ted. "Let's do this," she said.

Ted was wound up waiting for her. He had not been fussed over the way Andi had, and he too was in his muggle jeans and a long sleeved shirt.
When she came back, he heard her humming and couldn't help but smile. Sweatshirt and all, she had never been more beautiful, and he would thank his lucky stars every day for her. He heard stories about guys getting cold feet before their wedding, but he didn't get it. He couldn't wait for her to be his wife, and if eloping had any consequences, he would deal with him. They would all be worth it.
"You're beautiful," he whispered when she was finally standing with him.

Andi was breathless as her brown eyes locked onto his blue ones. She had no doubts about what she was doing. She could feel it, deep in her heart, that Ted was the only one for her. He always would be. She'd sacrificed so much to be with him, and yet it didn't really feel like she was giving up anything at all. A family that had never really respected her opinion, that had kicked her out without so much as a second thought--who needed them? In comparison, she was getting the only person who'd ever made her feel like she was special. It was a chance to start fresh, start a whole new family on the ashes of the old one.
"You, too," she whispered back, placing her hand in his.

He brought her hand to his lips, kissing the back of it. She would never understand just how perfect she was in his eyes. He would never be able to tell her so perfectly as she deserved to say it, but he was all right with trying to for the rest of their lives together.
The preacher caught their attention, and Ted almost laughed. "Sorry. We're ready," he said, and considered, for one brief moment, that his mother was going to kill him for not only eloping, but not having a Catholic wedding, either. She'd forgive him. She would have to when she met Andromeda.
The preacher started his monologue, and Ted couldn't tear his eyes from her.

Andi's eyes were fixed on Ted's as well. His eyes were just *so* blue... sometimes she just wanted to drown in them. It was very hard to focus on the preacher's words as she looked up at Ted. Her every sense, her every thought was fixed on Ted, and she really didn't care about anything else. In a few minutes, she would be his wife. Mrs. Andromeda Tonks. It didn't exactly flow off the tongue, but to her it was the most beautiful, perfect name she'd ever heard.
The preacher was asking her to repeat something and she blinked at him, turning her head. Oh, right. Her vows.
"I, Andromeda Black, take thee, Ted Tonks to be my lawfully wedded husband, to have and to hold, for richer or for poorer, through sickness and in health, for as long as we both shall live," she murmured, focusing her gaze on Ted.
