[Korbel]

"Because," said Korbel. "She shouldn't be punished for who she is, she can't help that she's the hunter's sister. It's not like she asked to be."

[Quinn]

Quinn rolled her eyes. "Yeah, right. It's just because you like her, that's all," she said angrily. "I swear, I was gonna wait for you to come out, but you two were acting like a couple of pups in heat. Disgusting." She shook her head. "You're betraying the pack, you know that right, Korbel? Keeping a secret like this from Gretchen... you told me yourself, the hunter killed Buck!"

[Korbel]

"So," Korbel shot back. "It's not her fault what he did! She had nothing to do with what he chooses to do." He glanced at Quinn angrily. "Anyway why should you be so angry if I do like her? You don't hear me getting angry when you go out with some guy."

[Quinn]

"Because it's different, that's why!" Quinn shouted. "When I go out with guys, don't care about them. You... you're going out of your way to protect this girl. You know full well Gretchen would want to know that the hunter has a sister!"

[Korbel]

"And what? Use her as bait," he shouted back at her. "She has nothing to do with him! She just found out about him not too long ago. I'm protecting her like I would do you or Dawn. It's my job to! No one else will!"

[Quinn]

"Your job?" Quinn repeated. "Your job is to protect the pack. She is not a member of your pack!"

[Korbel]

"She's my friend! So what if she isn't in the pack. You know as well as I do, Gretchen wouldn't let her in," said Korbel. "Plus, I'm not the leader of the pack, so technically I don't really have to protect the pack! Why should I protect them when they don't even like me?! I just protect my friends."

[Quinn]

Quinn crossed her arms and glared first at Korbel, then at the girl. Something about the girl made her furious. She found herself thinking of Korbel and the girl and what they had been doing... She let out a loud yell. "What do you see in her, anyway?" she demanded. "She's just a mousy little kid..."

[Korbel]

Korbel raised his eyebrow at Quinn. "She's different, that's what! She doesn't mind just sitting there and talking! What's it to you? Why should you care what I see in her?"

[Quinn]

"Because.... well, just because!" She sputtered. She realized now that she had always expected Korbel to be hers, to be there for her whenever she needed him. It was wrong of her to expect it, but that was how she felt. "You know what? To hell with both of you." She turned and walked out of the cave.

[Kris Lupin]

"You don't think she'll tell about me, do you?" Ashura asked squeezing his hand slightly.

[Korbel]

Korbel sighed loudly as Quinn left. He didn't really know what had gotten into her. Normally she would act differently if he had found someone, but this time was completely different. He was very confused about everything. He didn't really want Quinn mad at him, because she was really his only friend in the pack, and of course she was like his sister. He pulled his hand from Ashura's and walked off into a space of his own, pacing back and forth. At first he didn't answer her question, he just ran a hand through his hair, continuing to pace. "I don't know," he finally said. "There's no telling about her."

[Kris Lupin]

"You can go after her if you want." Ashura said quietly as she looked at the ground. She really didn't want him to but he seemed upset and if he wanted to go after Quinn she couldn't stop him.

[Korbel]

Korbel shook his head. "She's got to cool off. It's not good to talk to her when she's angry or upset. Trust me," said Korbel.

[Kris Lupin]

"Alright. I just hope she doesn't tell." Ashura sat on the ground with her back against the cave wall. She felt as if it was her fault that she was mad at him.

[Korbel]

Korbel stood in front of Ashura and knelt down. "There's no telling about her. She's a wild card," said Korbel. "But let's not worry about that right now."

[Kris Lupin]

"Ok... and to answer your question you asked before she came in... yes... I... I do w-want to be your mate." Ashura looked away blushing, he was the only guy she had been with since she was bit.

[Korbel]

Korbel put a hand on her chin and turned her face towards him, then gave her a smile. "There's no sense in you being shy about it. There's nothing wrong with that," said Korbel. "You don't have to be shy around me."

[Kris Lupin]

"Well.. I... you're the first guy I've been with and had such strong feelings about... I really don't know h-how to describe how I feel." Ashura said looking at him wishing she knew how to say everything she felt about him.

[Korbel]

"I can't say that you're the first girl I've been with, but I can say that you are the first girl that I've had strong feelings about, and actually want to stay with," said Korbel. "I don't really know the rules of a relationship, but we'll just figure things out as we go. That's okay if you don't know how to describe it."
