When the Rhumba Rhythm starts to play(*Josh)

"What makes you think that?" she asked although she completely agreed with him. She thought that most things were perfect when she was with him, well in complete honesty she thought the sun and moon rose on his shoulders which were broad and strong, capable of fighting away all her demons, and holding her close, he was the only one who could do that for her.

"Well, I am going with the most beautiful girl in school," replied Josh. "Of course, my opinion might be a little biased, but that doesn't matter." He grinned. "And we always have fun together. And actually, I don't think it will be perfect. I know it will be." Josh pulled her into a dip before bringing her back up and swaying with her again. He was going to do whatever he could to make the dance memorable for her. That included kissing her in front of everyone, or he thought that he would pull her off to the side it just depended on what was occurring at that moment.

Eve smiled against Josh's chest pulling her arms up she was beginning to believe him when he called her beautiful, when he did sweet things for her she was beginning to see her own worth again, something that her father had managed to destroy, yet she didn't blame him, she couldn't, she loved him too much still. Instead she blamed herself for not being the woman her mother was, it was folly but it was much easier admitting that she failed than admitting that she didn't have control over fate.

" Perfect sounds nice."

Josh put his hands on Eve's mid-back as she brought her arms up. Eve was a lot more than she thought she was and it was Josh's goal to make sure that she saw that. If she didn't love him like he did her, then that would be alright to him as long as she saw how much more she was than she thought.

"You know, the dance is going to take forever to get here. However, in the mean time I promise that I will entertain you in whatever way I can."

"You always entertain me." she laughed a bit, " I have the best time when I'm with you." she wrapped her arms around his neck and rocked back and forth with him, " But I would love to do this more often." she whispered.

[Josh Jordan]

"Oh, I can promise you that we will do this more often," said Josh. "We'll randomly start dancing in the hallway, in here, or somewhere completely different. I'll make sure to surprise you." He grinned widely.

Josh was close to her and he could feel his body against hers and he felt comfortable. "I wouldn't have ever dreamed of dancing with anyone else like this," he whispered quietly.

"What will people think?" she asked with a laugh in her tone spinning out from him and returning. She felt so light on her feet and graceful in his arms then again he made her feel many wonderful things.

"I wouldn't have ever dreamed of dancing with anyone else like this,"

She sobered and smiled up at him, "What makes me so special?"

"I don't really care what people would think," said Josh smiling. "They could think whatever they wanted to. They could think that I was crazy or something and look at me like I had five heads and I still wouldn't care." He gave her a wink and continued their dancing. Josh didn't mind if there was no actual music, it seemed like they moved to a beat of their own.

"You're my Eva," he said as if it was the most obvious answer ever. "And there's no one else I can call that."

She laughed, "You've known me forever Josh. I'm like a little sister to you, people know that. I doubt they'd say much, if anything at all." she smiled but the light faded a bit in her eyes. That was a very true statement. She had known Josh all her life it seemed, she was like a little sister to him. She always followed him around and looked up to him as if he were God himself with her big brown eyes of adoration staring at him. She had been in love with him for as long as she could remember, although that love had started to change her feelings were only growing deeper.

Josh didn't really consider Eve like his sister anymore. Of course, that changed a while back but he hadn't said anything about that to Eve about it. "Well Eva, to be honest with you, I don't think brothers and sisters really dance this close," he said pulling her to him. It was a way to let her know that there was something more there but then again he wasn't quite ready to tell her straight out just yet.

She wasn't about to question his statement though her curiosity was really getting to be unbearable. At the same time it felt so wonderful to be held as close as she was being held that she didn't give enough attention to her curiosity and focused on his arms around him.

She wondered what he would say if she asked right out how he felt about her, but she wasn't ready for that answer, not tonight instead she shivered. Whether it was from the cold or simply being by him, she thought it was the latter given how warm he was making her feel, it was then she noticed that the windows were fogged and it was indeed night time, around the time they should be getting to bed. She glanced up at him and barely suppressed a yawn.

Noticing Eve's expression, he could tell that she was getting tired. She didn't have to tell him or even yawn. "Alright ma'am, I think someone is getting sleepy." Josh smiled and tapped her nose gently. "I'll carry up there and then we have all day tomorrow to dance whenever we want to."

Without warning, Josh picked her up easily and started walking up the stairs to his and Lance's room. "I've had fun tonight Eva."

She laughed and nodded, but inwardly she somewhat frowned. Picking her up, noting that she was sleepy, that was all very big brotherlike. Then again she was going up to sleep in his room, in his bed, with him and yes...that was brotherlike too, but becoming less and less so.

She yawned then fully and closed her eyes as he carried her, " You're a wonderful dancer."

"I do try," Josh said with a quiet chuckle. He closed the door with his foot and put Eve down on his bed carefully. The covers were already turned down from him already laying there. He moved to the other side of the bed and crawled in, pulling the covers over both of them and snuggling underneath them.

"Sleep well Eva," he said kissing her goodnight on the cheek.

Eve was asleep in his arms before she even touched the bed, however she tried to pry her eyes open to say goodnight to him and Lance but by the time she was under the covers she was gone. She must have been more tired than she thought, but her dreams would be pleasant that night as their dancing continued in her mind.
