"Oh, really?" Geoff said, raising his eyebrows. "Well, then, I may just have to drop by. I don't think Mum and Dad would mind if I showed up unannounced." He laughed. "Nothing like an impromptu family reunion. Do you know if Christopher and Anthony will be able to make it? I mean, we may as well go all out, right?"
Nodding towards the counter, he asked, "Do you want me to get you something? Coffee? Tea? Maybe a muffin?"

She laughed, " I think they're expecting you there too." they could only be two people. James and Lillian Montgomery. Christine sighed, she was still upset over the verdict that was her future, and how all that independence had been ripped away, of course, it wasn't complete independence, there was of course the body guards, which she still wasn't forgiving her father for. She'd never secretly admit to being glad about being home and seeing family again.
When he mentioned the tea and muffin she nodded, "Tea and muffin." she smiled. Christine had a healthy appetite but she worked everything off and then some on the ship as a sailor, she also couldn't help but stay active.

Geoffrey laughed. "Oh, really? Nice of them to let me know." He'd already been planning to stop by his parents' house during the weekend, but now he would have to make sure he did it. How typical of his parents. It was a good thing he adored them.
"OK, coming right up," he said, standing up and heading toward the counter to get her order. A few minutes later, he returned, carefully balancing two muffins on a plate, along with a cup of coffee and a cup of tea. "Here you go," he said handing her the tea and muffin.

Christine laughed, "You know Dad. He can remember figures up the ying yang but ask him to remember a social event and it's a dead battle." she shook her head and then smiled, " You know if mum caught wind of the fact that pop didn't say anything " her smile was a bit evil at that, she had some payback in mind for making her go to school. She wouldn't do it of course, because she loved her father and that sort of thing would have been beneath her...still it was nice to think about.

Geoffrey caught a glimpse of that evil smile and shook his head knowingly. He could always tell when evil thoughts were crossing her mind, even if he couldn't always tell what she was thinking about. "Whatever you're thinking, don't do it," he said. "You're already in enough hot water, and I'm almost afraid to see what they'd cook up to make you more miserable than going to school. Besides, I'm supposed to be the practical joker in this family."

She rolled her eyes, there would be no practical joking about it. Shrugging she decided not to talk about it, "Thank you for the muffin." she said moving across the subject as if they hadn't discussed a thing.

Geoff shook his head. "Don't mention it," he said. "I figure it's the least I can do for you." He paused to take a sip from his coffee, then leaned across the table to look at her. "All right, Chrissy. I know you're dying to tell me about some of your adventures since you've been away. So why don't you start by telling me exactly how you managed to end up falling overboard?"

Christine's good humor was back at his question and she smiled mischievously, " Oh it's nothing really." she said shrugging, " The stupidest thing when that storm hit. You know Uncle Chris told me to stay in his cabin, but I wasn't about to let the ship sink just because he refused the extra hand." she said rolling her eyes the way she would tell it she had saved the entire ship, of course she had a hand in it. She was an excellent sailor and she knew that they needed her help that another pair of hands couldn't hurt if it wasn't for that last wave. She shook her head.

Geoffrey shook his head. It was so typical of his sister to insist on being in the thick of things, instead of staying where it was safe. "Well, don't tell Dad, but I'm proud of you," he said. "You've never been the type to hide away while others are working. And I love that you're independent. Just... be careful, OK? You really could have been killed. And I don't know what I'd do without my baby sister."

Christine smiled indulgently towards him then shrugged, she gave him a look that insinuated her infamous "if I weren't a girl" speech. In fact if it had been Geoffrey on that ship he would have been expected to help, not hide in the cabin, and if Geoffrey had happened to go overboard they'd get him back and it wouldn't have been such a big deal, but because she was a girl and "delicate" she had to attend school now as punishment, it was absolute hypocrisy. She sighed, " You'd get along." she waved as if to indicate that her presence wasn't necessary.
