Colette had skipped her last class of the day, History of Magic, to take a little time to visit her brother Cillian at their family's store. She knew her father had business out of town today and she would not recieve a lecture on the importance of school, at least not this time. She did not, however, know if Mr Burke would be in today but she took her chances nevertheless.
She traveled through the Floo Network, as it was the fastest way out of the castle, and appeared in the hearth at Borgin & Burke's covered in soot. She pulled er wand and removed as much soot as she could magically, then patted her sleeves to make sure she was clean. The front room seemed empty, which meant whomever was working today would be in the back room. "Hullo?" she said quizzically as she poked her head past the old, black curtain that blocked the view of the storage room from the front.

Collin didn't even bother with classes today, and since the common room was filled with the aggrivating sounds of the younger students, Collin decided to floo over to the shop and see if Cillian was there.
Only moments after leaving did he hear another visitor by floo powder arrive. after some time, he saw his younger sister, Colette, peel her head around the curtian to where Collin was currently standing.
"Ah, Colette," Collin said, smiling at his sister. "Skiping class are we?" he laughed.

An order just came in and Cillian went to work stocking the shelves with the new items. A few shelves were unorganized, so he had to set to work on that before his father returned and fussed about it. Cillian hated when his father started going on and on about how things should be.
He heard people coming in from the hearth, and Cillian shook his head. He had a hunch who it was, and then the voices only confirmed it. Cillian had to move to the front room so he could finish putting up a few things. "Hello you two," he greeted.

"Oh you're one to talk," Colette replied, rolling her eyes at Collin. Cillian pushed past them both with a few things for the front shelves. "Cillian, would you kindly remind our brother that he should be at lessons today," she teased, jabbing Collin in the ribs with her elbow. She flipped her dark hair behind her shoulder and grinned at them both. "What are you doing today? I was hoping it would be something more interesting than hearing about Goblin Wars over and over again."

Cillian looked at them both before shaking his head. "Both of you should be in lessons today," he said with a laugh. "Although being here is a little bit better than going to class I suppose. There's no harm in missing every now and again."
He turned back to his box and opened it. There were a few books in it and Cillian started to restock them. "Well, today I'm just restocking our shelves and organizing things that have been scattered before father gets in and starts complaining about it not being done. And I swear, if either of you mess it up I promise I will make you re organize everything." He gave his siblings a look before returning to the shelves.
"How have the two of you been? Anything new that I should hear about?"

"Right," she answered, drawing out the middle of the word until it was three times the length it should have been. "Every now and then...sure." She didn't usually make a habit out of skipping lessons, but as History of Magic wore on she was starting to get a few more absents on her record. She couldn't stand that class. And she honestly didn't see why she needed it. When would she ever need to know the exact date that Brunhilda Something-or-other was sentenced for crimes against muggles?
"I can't promise I won't accidentally mess things up. But I won't purposely do it. Need some help?" Without waiting for an answer she grabbed a package from the larger box and stuck it up on the shelf that Cillian was replenishing. "I've got nothing new. That's part of the reason I skipped out today. I need a change from the boredom."

Before he could answer his sister, she had set the box on the shelf. "Thanks. Now, that since you want a change for boredom, I have something for you to do. No complaints from you, I mean it." Cillian looked at her pointedly. "Now, the box that is up there can be unpacked. You both know that father wouldn't like the idea of you two just standing around doing absolutely nothing. Plus, the job will get done twice as fast, so get to it."
Cillian looked in between his siblings. "And don't look at me like 'yeah right' either. I'm completely serious."

"Boredom, thats for sure," Collin agreed, following as his sister did and placing packages on the shelves. "I skipped out on Divination. Explain why I even considered taking that class? Its a load of rubbish..." he rolled his eyes. "If i see another crystal ball and someone expects me to see something in it, I'm smashing it..." Collin made a mental not to really go see his teacher and drop the darn class.
He made an over dramatic sigh as Cillian ordered them to empty the box. Working in the shop was not what he had expected to get out of boredom.

"Well, Divination is sort of lame," Cillian agreeing with his brother.
"And don't sigh like that Collin," he said raising an eyebrow. "I don't care if shelving items is not your idea of getting out of boredom, but it makes this job go by faster, and these two are the last boxes that I have to unpack right now, so be happy." He shook his head and started to finish up on his current box.

Colette didn't mind the work like Collin did. She was jealous of the boys, Cillian for already working in the shop, and Collin for having the opportunity to do so in the future. Their father thought it was improper for a young lady to work in such an environment and strictly forbid her even asking about a job after graduating in another year. She smiled happily, glad to just be out of school for a bit. it didn't matter what she was doing in place of it. "Oh, c'mon Colls. It's not that bad. Don't be so lazy."

"I'm not lazy," Collin muttered as he continued on with the boxes. He would never understand his siblings love for this old and ratty shop. He hated the idea that he'd have to work in here full time after finishing Hogwarts. He knew Colette was jealous, that she wanted to work here, and Collin would be more than happy to give his little sister his position, if their father would let them.
Collin examined one of the products before storing them. Yes, he'd much rather be able to use the products sold here for his own fun, rather than sell them to others.

Colette laughed, a high pitched bell sound. "No, I suppose you're not. But you really shouldn't be so negative about the work. You'll be doing it full time this time next year. And then you and Cillian will have all your fun together and I'll be stuck at Hogwarts by myself." Colette was not looking forward to next term. She had plenty of friends, but her closest had always been her brothers. It was a change when Cillian had graduated, but she still had had Collin. Next year she would be alone.

"Yes, we're SO excited to be spending every waking moment here at the shop, aren't we Cillian," Collin smiled. He minded the work, but he didn't mind spending the time with his brother. The Borgin siblings had always been close and he too had been slightly thrown off when Cillian had graduated. He looked at Colette with a sympathetic smile. "You'll be fine for a year without us there kid," He said, wrapping one arm around his sister's shoulder and giving her a side hug.

"Of course we are Collin," said Cillian grinning. "We'll have plenty of fun working. Stocking shelves is such fun." Cillian didn't mind working in the shop. It interested him because of all the things that people brought in and sometimes worked out a trade. The Dark Arts always interested him, but he wasn't one to join the ranks of the Dark Lord however. He could be a supporter, but he couldn't see himself joining ranks.
"Aw Cole, you'll be just fine next year. After all you are a Borgin and I do believe that Collin and I have taught you well. Besides who says we can't appear sometime and visit? What kind of brothers would we be if we just left you completely? I couldn't imagine doing that, could you Collin?"

"Never," Collin agreed sincerly. He totally wouldn't mind coming back to Hogwartz to visit Collette, not to mention Noah, who was a year behind him in Collette's year. "I'd miss my baby sis too much."
Collin picked up a random artifact that he began to place on a shelf, but then took a closer look. "Hey Cill, what's this?" he asked, facinated.

Cillian laughed and grinned at Colette. "See, we can't just leave you behind. You'll have plenty of fun, promise."
He turned back to the shelf but then looked at Collin. "That is," Cillian started. He took a step closer to Collin. "a staring glass eye. It's pretty neat actually. Helps you see whatever is around you, although you can only use it if you've lost an eye. Interesting object really, and of course its very expensive."

Collin looked at the eye a bit longer. "Neat," Collin said. Almost worth loosing an eye over, he thought. Then he placed it gently on the shelf so that it wouldn't roll away. "It's not, preused is it?" Collin wondered allowed.

A grin spread across Cillian's face. He could tease his brother and freak him out a little or he could just tell the truth. Deciding that it would be better to tell the truth rather than have Collin knock everything off, Cillian shook his head. "No. That one is actually brand new. It's the only one we have at the moment. People don't just show up and hand us an eye like that."

"Well, I'm sure I've seen stranger things happen around here," Collin laughed. "Haven't you Collette?" Collin asked his sister.

Colette gave Collin a sneer when he called her his baby sister in that tone. She wasn't that much younger than him, only a year. That hardly made her a baby.
While the boys talked about the glass eye Colette continued to unpack the boxes and load up the shelves. She listened as they chatted and when Collin addressed her she said, "Loads stranger. But a secondhand eye would be quite disturbing."
