Emma saw the look from Kassia, and Ophelia's excitement. Jadon was diplomatically keeping his emotions to himself. She knew how Benjamin could be frustrated by Ursula sometimes, but the silence had gone on long enough.
"Of course we have enough food for them. Bobi, please send them in." She gave her husband a half apologetic look.

Ben stared around the table at his children as Bobi had delivered the news. So Ursula and Nathalia were here and as always the girls were ever so eager to invite them in, whereas Ben sat in silent contemplation. Ursula was family and yet her alternative lifestyle never sat well with him, it was disgraceful for a witch of her status to act in such a manner. As his lovely wife took the initiative and invited the two in, he looked over and noticed her apologetic look.
Smiling, he reached across the table and grabbed Emma's hand. "Well it seems your Aunt Ursula and cousin Nathalia have decided to come for a visit." Standing up, he turned towards the entryway to greet his sister and niece.

When the tiny little house elf returned, Ursula shot a look at Nathalia. This was going to be fun, she was sure of it. She always loved to watch Benjamin and Emma squirm in her presence. They treated her "alternative lifestyle" like a large pink elephant sitting in the middle of the room... the harder they tried to ignore it and pretend it wasn't a factor, the more obvious it was.
Her nieces, of course, she adored. They gave the impression of vapid, empty-headed girls, but Ursula was convinced that there was more to them than that. She hoped she could inspire the girls to speak up for themselves and not be content to be empty, vapid society wives.
She breezed into the dining room on the heels of the little house elf. "Emma, darling!" she said enthusiastically to her sister. She went straight to her, giving her a quick embrace. "And Benjamin! I trust all is well with you?"

When Ursula and Lia came into the room, Jadon stood from his seat and went to his cousin first, pulling her into his arms.
"Lia, it's good to see you again! I'm glad you came," he told her before he let her go to his sistes, who were all bubbling with excitement, and he went to Ursula.
"Aunt Ursula," he greeted her, hugging her quickly as well.

"Jadon!" Ursula said brightly, hugging her nephew. "My goodness, just look at you. I don't know what you're eating, but it's doing your body good. You must make all the girls crazy." She winked at him and moved over to an empty seat next to him.
"Honestly, it's such a slap to my ego to visit all you beautiful Burkes. I feel positively homely next to the lot of you. Ophelia... you are positively stunning... and Kassia and Allaire... you're all so beautiful."

Kassia admired her aunt and cousin for their courageousness, something she herself didn't dare indulge in. Part of her felt she had too much to do around the household, too much to take care of. Fee wasn't capable of taking care of herself, and would have gotten into trouble by consorting with that Gryffandor, not that Kassia herself was prejudice, but she knew that their father wouldn't have liked it, and Kassia did so live to please her parents.
Allaire would do alright, but there were some ways Kassia felt that she took care of her younger sister as well. Kassia worked behind the scenes, and didn't care for the spotlight, even if there was something inside of her waiting to burst, she kept a tight lid on it.
She smiled grandly when her relatives entered and waited her turn to be greeted.

Ben smiled weakly as Ursula came into the room and greeted Emma and himself, he never agreed with his sister in law's special lifestyle. Yet she was family and Benjamin would never let it be said that family wasn't welcome in the Burke household. "Yes dear Ursula, all is well. A bit hectic at work at the moment but nothing too special. Come take a sit and join us won't you?"
Watching as Ursula went and addressed the children, he hoped that none of his beautiful girls, decided to follow in their aunt's footsteps, no he decided he would forbid it if it did happen. Glancing over at Emma, he smiled and reached over once more to squeeze her hand.

Kassia's eyes traveled from her father to her aunt and back again a few times though she tried not to make it too obvious. While she was far too reserved to be as outspoken as her aunt was, there were times when Kassia felt her own blood bubbling over into a passion she didn't quite understand. It was something she often suppressed in her desire to be the perfect daughter, she couldn't abide by any flaws in her own life, she could only admire them from afar.
"Thank you Aunt" she said demurely in regards to the compliment that was paid her earlier.

Nathalia thought it ridiculous how quiet this family was. Those girls were too perfect and too well behaved to be having any fun at all with their lives. One day, one of those perfect princesses was going to rebel. She hoped she was there to see it.
"Hi Uncle Ben," She said sweetly, leaning down and kissing her uncle, then her aunt, on the cheek.

Ophelia might have looked like the perfect, demure princess, but no one quite knew what bubbled beneath the surface. If her father tried to arrange a marriage for her, the entire family would be in for one heck of a fight. She had decided long ago, that she, and only she would choose her own mate. No one, not even her father, would choose for her.
She had heard legendary stories in the family about how her Aunt Ursula had run away to Italy rather than marry the man that had been chosen for her. And although Ophelia had no intentions of following her aunt's unorthodox lifestyle--she liked men, thank you very much--she knew that she was willing to go to similar lengths to avoid an arranged marriage, if it became necessary.
"It is good to see both of you," Ophelia said politely. "Please sit down. Nathalia, there is a seat next to me." She beamed at her cousin. "You must tell us about New York City."

That rebellion, should it ever come, would put Kassia through hell, though nobody knew that yet. Kassia would in all likelihood take responsibility, she was very good at taking responsibility. She felt that there was simply so much she had to prove to her parents, to society, there was something in her that was slowly dying from expectation, something that wanted to break free and take hold of something for herself, something that could be only hers, but she never indulged that whimsy.
But she would take it. Whatever they could throw at her she would withstand the pressure. She had a steel core of strength inside and she would not be taken down easily, even if she did make herself an open target, but all this was speculation, who knew what the future held?
As Ophelia sat their cousin next to her Kassia smiled, just like Fee to grab at whatever attention she could get.
"Are you hungry?" she asked demurely but then her eyes shot to her father's she should have thought before offering them food, only this was family so surely he couldn't object, she gave him a little smile then one for her mother and denied the blush that wanted to creep up on her face.

Nathalia laughed airily and sat next to Fee, smiling at the rest of the family. Her eyes met her mother's when she was asked about New York... they both knew she had stories she wouldn't be sharing with her cousins.
"I'm not hungry, Kassia, thank you though. What would you like to hear about New York, Fee? I'll tell you anything, but first you have to tell me how you've been since I last saw you."
