Tessa was patient with Anya's grasp on the language, and she smiled encouragingly. She was actually doing really well.
Though it was often overcast and rainy here, she agreed that it was bright, and often times it still seemed like the sun was shining.
"I'm sure you'll make friends quickly. You are in Gryffindor, correct? It's a little difficult not to make friends with that sort."

Anya nodded, "Yes I have friends with a good boy, he is very sweet. He even let me know his friends." She gave a shy little blush at this but seemed otherwise happy about having made a friend already, and having been introduced to his friends. She had never really had friends before and it was nice to meet new ones.

"Good!" Tessa said, smiling brightly at this news. Leave it to Gryffindor to make a transfer feel right at home. They were the best, second only to Hufflepuff for that sort of thing.
"Which classes are you taking?" She asked. The girl seemed friendly and willing to talk, so Tess hoped to give her things to talk about.

Anya answered easily though still her voice was soft as always, "All the required core classes, except I was allowed to trade Astronomy with Arithmancy." She liked answering questions, it didn't require her to know what to ask. She was usually too shy to ask many questions, but answering was not usually hard. This older girl seemed very friendly and she found she liked her so far.

Tessa nodded. "Advanced studies, almost? That's wonderful. I never could get into Arithmancy myself, but I love Astronomy. It's a fun class. What do you think of classes so far? I imagine they're a little easier than what you're used to."
Tess was good at engaging people in conversation, if not making them feel comfortable, no matter their age.

She smiled, taking his arm and nodding. "Would you prefer that I called you by your last name?" She asked. If it would make him more comfortable, she would. "Are you going back home for the holidays, then?" She asked softly, just trying to make him feel relaxed and at ease. Talking about ones home usually did that. Ivan shook his head slowly, "No it is okay, Ivan is fine. It just is an adjustment, that is all. Old habits die hard, as they say." As they walked he looked at her and studied her features. Lelani was very beautiful if you liked the fair blond types, and he found that though he was not used to seeing women so fair, she was indeed very stunning. He was too polite and respectful to say anything or admit to it of course, but he did take notice. "No, doamna, I will not be going home. I have no home left there to return to. My sister and I are orphans under my cousin's roof at the time. We will be staying here at the school whenever possible." |

"Yes, the classes here are good though so far. Just the approach of subject is differing than Durmstrang, though, not harder or easier... just differing. I hope to advance with much hard study here and learn what is taught." Anya was a very strong student, loyal, hard working, corageous, kind... she was not afraid to try new things even if they were different than she was used to. And she found she rather liked it here much better than her last school, there seemed more as if the sun pushed away the shadows within the walls of this school versus what she was used to. There was a lighter air and feel to the school, and she found it very comforting.
