She found herself thirsty at the mention of setting a date and mumbled out something that sounded like "not quite" before heading into the safety of the kitchen. She bent over the counter and buried her hands in her face. She had no idea how to deal with this. She just wanted to sit alone and think for a while. She didn't want to marry anyone, least of all Rodolphus. At least at this moment. She couldn't even think about marrying Lord Voldemort, seeing how intrusive her mother was with wedding plans. And she truly loved him.
She sighed and straightened up, fanning her face with her hands to calm her. She turned and rummaged through her fridge, grabbing a pitcher of some sort of juice. That, along with three glasses was what she carried back out to her family, as if that was the reason she had left the room in the first place. "Juice?"

Druella frowned slightly. "Well, it's not tea, but I suppose it will do," she said crisply, accepting a glass from the tray. She took a sip, made a face, and quietly set the glass down on a coaster.
"You seem nervous, Bellatrix. I hope it is just your reaction to the unfortunate circumstances surrounding Andromeda and not some sort of problem with your wedding plans? Rodolphus isn't getting cold feet, is he? I could speak with him, if you like."

"No, no. Don't speak with Rodolphus. It's nothing concerning him." The was the last thing she needed, for her mother to butt in. As if it weren't already a dramatic situation, adding Druella Black into the equation would make it down right chaotic.

Druella eyed her daughter suspiciously. "So then, Rodolphus is not the problem, is he?" she said in a silky voice. "You are the problem. Well, dear, what is the trouble? Are you getting cold feet? Or do you have your eye on another man? You know what your job is, dear, and if this other man is also a suitable match, I suppose it would be acceptable to break your engagement with Rodolphus, as long as we are able to get a commitment from Rabastan to marry Andromeda first. It's an important alliance, with the Lestrange family, and we can't toss it aside for just anyone."

Bellatrix was stunned. She had not expected her mother to be so understanding, even if she was just guessing at this point. Rodolphus and Bellatrix were introduced while attending Hogwarts, with the point being marriage. It was just luck that they had fallen for eachother and that their current engagement was not forced upon them. So Bellatrix didn't know what to say to her mother. She almost wanted to hug her and thank her. But still, Bellatrix did love Rodolphus just not as much as she had before she met Lord Voldemort. And no matter what Andromeda had claimed that day Bellatrix and her father had stopped by for a visit, Andi wouldn't be marrying Rabastan. It was an emtpy promise, and it seemed everyone but the senior Blacks were aware of this."Mum, I really don't think Andromeda meant it when she said she would marry Rabastan. Their last relationship didn't end on the best of terms, and I think she was just upset when she said that."

Druella scowled. "Well, that may be the case; however, I really don't intend to give her a choice. I am going to speak with her as soon as I leave here and inform her that she must either marry Rabastan Lestrange or she will remain disowned forever. If she refuses, that is fine with me, I have no use for troublesome, rebellious daughters. The only question I have is whether or not Rabastan will have her. And for that, I will still be expecting you to inquire of him whether he still has any scrap of affection for her."
She abruptly stood up and moved closer to Bellatrix. "And do not think it has escaped my notice that you are changing the subject. One way or another, there must be a union with the Lestrange family, and if Andromeda cannot or will not make an alliance with Rabastan, then I will be expecting you and Rodolphus to set a date. Now then," she said briskly, walking to the door, "I shall take my leave and go and deal with Andromeda. I will be expecting to hear from you soon, Bellatrix." In a kinder voice, she nodded to Narcissa. "And good day to you, Narcissa, darling."
And with that, she opened the door and walked out. The sound of her high heels could be heard all the way down the hallway until she vanished into the elevator.

She swallowed hard as her mother left, breathing rapidly. Her warm feelings for her mother shifted quickly, but into what she didn't know. She wanted to be mad and at the same time she wanted to cry. Everyone, including Bellatrix, had always thought that Bella was Druella's favorite. Naricissa was the daddy's girl and Andromeda the outcast. And certainly their mother had had a reputation of being...well, a hard ass. But still, forcing Bellatrix to marry when her mother obviously suspected she was unhappy. It was a little heartbreaking.
The sound of their mother's heels on the floor disappeared and Bellatrix turned to Narcissa. "Are you staying?"

Narcissa kept quiet when her mother was talking. She knew better than to speak up to her mother when she was talking to someone else. She felt bad that Bella was basically being forced to marry Rodolphus, although she always thought that she cared for him. Narcissa pushed that thought out of her mind and listened to her mother.
"Good bye Mother. See you later," she said polietly. She listened as her mother's steps faded, before turning to Bella. "I don't have to," Narcissa said. "If you want me to stay I can, however if you don't then I can go."

"Well what do you want to do Narcissa? Mum's not here, you can make your own decisions now." She didn't mean to be short with Narcissa, she was just taking out her anger on the nearest person and that was unfortunately Narcissa. Cissa had a bad habit of trying to please everyone.

Narcissa looked at Bella with slightly widened eyes. She was angry because she was being short. Cissa seemed to catch it when Bella was angry. Of course, she could make her own decisions, but she didn't know if Bella wanted her to stay any longer. Cissa swallowed. She didn't want Bella to become anymore angry if she gave the wrong answer.
"I-I think I'll head back to school," she said. She wasn't sure if she really wanted to stay there while Bella was angry. She didn't really want to catch anymore than she had to.

She felt bad for making Narcissa upset, which she could tell she was just a little. And she hadn't meant to run her off. She was actually debating on confessing her little secret to her. But she bit her lip and said, "I'll see you in class then."
