(Nikita, I hope it's OK I'm just bringing you here with me. LOL)
After talking to Narcissa, Andi left the castle grounds with Nikita and walked into town, heading straight for the Leaky Cauldron. She held her breath for a brief moment, half hoping to find Ted in here as well. If she saw him here, drinking, she might have forgiven him, if only he'd take her back. She knew in her head that she shouildn't even think such things after he'd hurt her so badly, but she still loved him and ached for him. The loss of him made her feel like she had a huge, gaping hole in the center of her chest. She needed him to fill it again.
But he wasn't there. Maybe he really didn't care. Maybe he'd picked up a leggy blonde or redhead and headed home to have some real fun. She could never compete with someone like that. She'd been a fool to think she could.
At the bar, she ordered a whole bottle of firewhiskey, rather than bother with glasses, and slunk over to the table in the corner, not even bothering to wait for Nikita. She needed the numbness only alcohol could bring.

Nikita had gotten stuck with students asking questions and she felt that in answering them at least she was saving Andi from having to answer them. She told the girl to go on and that she'd meet her there.
"Sorry the students were somewhat hectic and I caught up with Renneau to tell Dumbledore that we weren't available for a while." she said having covered her bases. Nikita wasn't one to actually follow rules, nor did she let people tell her she couldn't do this or that, but because she respected Dumbledore she had wanted to first give him the heads up and then made her way swiftly to the Bar.
She noticed the Firewhiskey, " I see that you're ahead of me." she said and then ordered two glasses.

Much of what Nikita had said was over Andi's head at that point. She wasn't drunk yet; she had only had a few sips so far. She just was so buried deep in her own pain that trivial things like asking permission just hadn't occurred to her. She stared blankly at the glass, as if not sure what to do with it. She wanted to just pour the contents of the bottle down her throat, but she always needed a few minutes to adjust to the burning.
"It doesn't make sense," she moaned, dropping her head down on the table. "Why would he say that to me? Why did he end it just like that? I know he loved me... I felt it. Was I that naive?"

Nikita didn't know much about men, not decent men anyway and so anything she would tell Andi would probably be unflattering to the entire sex not just Ted, still recriminations and such probably weren't the best idea right now, " You are not nearly drunk enough." she announced since alcohol was something she did understand. She wished she wasn't so clueless on guys.
"That's just the way men are...they don't know how to love the way a woman does."

Andi poured a glass for herself, then pushed the bottle over to Nikita. "I loved him with my whole heart... everything I had. I chose him over my family... how could he do this to me? I spent a whole night crying in his arms and he said he loved me... it didn't feel like a lie..."
Shaking her head, she tried to force the memories of that night from her mind. But they just wouldn't go. They just kept repeating. She gulped down half of her glass, choking slightly as she did. But she didn't care. She needed the oblivion. She just hoped it wouldn't take long to find it.

The poor girl had trusted the wrong person and got burned for it. Nikita poured her own shot and tossed it back, it went down smoothly without any hesitation or wince on Nikita's part. She was used to her share of shots.
It was a little unnerving how open Andromeda was with her pain, so open and honest about it, not that Nikita wasn't doing her best to comfort the girl, the simple fact was Nikita had learned to hide her own pains and griefs and bury them so she could move on, dealing with raw grief, she imagined would be excruciating.
"Easy with that..." she said when the girl choked, " Alright...perhaps he's having one of those stupid moments...men have numerous stupid moments...perhaps he'll come around." although if it was Nikita in Andi's shoes she wouldn't take the man back.

Andi gulped down the rest of her glass. "He was kissing some girl," she whispered. "And he told me..." She shook her head. She couldn't repeat it. Pouring another glass, she lifted it to her lips with a shaky hand. "It just... it doesn't feel right. I... I'm not an idiot, I can usually tell when someone's lying. The things he said before tonight... they didn't feel like lies. But I guess... I guess they were. Beautiful lies."
She gulped down the contents of her glass and reached for the bottle again.

Molly had thrown on her cloak and left her apartment as soon as her owl left for Sirius. By the time she arrived at the Three Broomsticks, she was fuming.
She stopped in the doorway, looking around before she spotted Andromeda, and some blonde she didn't know.
Without taking off her cloak, she strode purposefully to the table and slid into the seat next to Andi, putting her arms around her cousin. "I am so sorry, Andi," she whispered. "I'm already planning his murder. Don't worry, the alibis are taken care of."

Andi sniffled loudly and buried her face in Molly's shoulder. "Oh, Molly, am I ever glad to see you," she gasped. Again, "glad" was an overstatement. She was not capable of feeling glad about anything. But she needed Molly right now, and it was an enormous relief to have her here. "Please don't talk like that," she said sadly in response to Molly's murder comment. If it were anyone else, she might have cheerfully agreed, but for some reason, she couldn't bear the thought of harming Ted. Even if he'd just cut her heart out and stomped on it.
"But how did you know what happened? Please tell me word's not starting to get around already, is it?" She bit her lip fearfully. She was humiliated enough as it was, she didn't need the entire wizarding world to know of her shame.

"No, Andi," Molly said, though she really did intend to murder Ted Tonks. No one hurt Andromeda like this, and she knew Andi was sad right now, but she'd get angry eventually, and then they could talk murder. At least, that's what Molly though.
"No, word's not spreading. Sirius sent me an owl and told me I was needed, so I came." She was still hugging Andi, refusing for a moment to let her go. She glanced at Nikita, then the bottle. "One bottle is not going to be nearly enough for tonight."

Sirius. Sweet Sirius. She'd spotted him standing nearby while she was talking to Narcissa. He must have heard everything, but felt uncomfortable talking to her directly. So he'd sent a note to the one person who could help. She'd have to thank him later.
"I just don't understand... it doesn't make sense... He's either the best liar in the world or I'm the biggest fool..."

"You're not a fool. Godric, Andi, don't let him be the one that makes you start building that wall around your heart, okay?" She took a deep breath, feeling like she was about to deliver a speech. "I've always admired you for how passionately you love... how trusting you are... and I wish I could be like that. Yes, Ted was a brilliant liar, and your trust in him was betrayed, but don't let him ruin you."
Oh, she would surely murder the man in cold blood if he was the one who ended up destroying Andromeda.

Andi pulled away from Molly's embrace and looked up at her cousin with a devastated expression on her face. "Molly, please don't give me the 'plenty of fish in the sea' speech, OK? I just.... I can't. I can't do this again. I really thought..." She let out a choked sob as tears filled her eyes again. "I really thought he was the one. I thought we were going to get married... he said he'd be my family..."
Merlin, why wasn't she numb yet? Why hadn't the pain turned into anger yet? She grabbed the bottle and poured another glass, gulping it down like a drunken sailor.

Nikita had been slightly grateful when Molly arrived and tried to keep herself quiet and attentive to what Molly was saying hoping that she would learn what to say or at least what was going on. She listened and performed background bartending filling up Andi's drink or Molly's drink whenever the time called for it her own as well.

Molly reached for her cousin again. "Stop it, Andi. I didn't say anything about more fish in the sea." She had known better than to say it. She knew what that speech felt like and she knew how little it helped. She also knew Andromeda enough to know that it wouldn't make her feel better at all.
"All I said was not to let him ruin you. In fact," she glanced at Nikita, an apology in her eyes for not introducing herself or saying hello or anything of the sort. "I think we should get absolutely plastered tonight, nurse our hangovers in the mornings, and then go march into Ted's apartment and demand that he either explain things or take back his words. He needs a good... demanding," she finished lamely. He needed a good ass kicking, but Andi would just say no.

Andi wiped at her eyes and shook her head vigorously. "No... no, please, Molly... I don't want to see him. I can't. It hurts too much. I can't even say his name without feeling like I've been punched in the stomach. Seeing him again... I can't do it. I can't look in his face and... he'd know how much he hurt me and I can't let him see that..."
Her hand shook wildly as she took another gulp from her glass. Please, make me numb already, she pleaded silently with the amber liquid. She didn't know how much longer she could stand to hurt like this.

"Okay," Molly said. "We'll wait a while for that, then." She sighed. She wished she could help Andi get through the sad part first... what were the stages of grief? Denial, sadness, anger... weren't there four more? Andi would feel better when she hit anger, though, but Molly knew that was going to take a while.
And while Andi didn't want to face him just yet, Molly did. She had the temper of a firey haired Irish girl, plus the temper of a Black... he was facing a storm when she decided to show up. And he deserved it for what he had done to Andi, and Molly didn't even know the whole story. Sirius' letter had been very brief.
"Andi... I'm here, okay?" She whispered at length. "Whatever you need."

Andi sighed and continued to drink. The warmth from the firewhiskey was beginning to spread through her, melting the icy block in her chest. But instead of soothing her, comforting her, it made her feel as if she were burning up from the inside out. The fire raged within her, but instead of giving her the fuel for anger and rage, it just left her feeling weak. The fire was consuming her, and she was afraid that when it was done, it would leave her nothing but a blackened pile of ash on the floor. But then, she reasoned, at least the pain would stop.
"Thanks, Molly," she said softly. Her words were starting to slur a little, so that it sounded the two words had been mushed together into one nonsensical word. "I just don' unerstan'... why was he kissin' that girl? Some cheap blonde... slut... When he was wi' me, he ne'er even looked at other girls..."

"I thought we already established what a bloody fantastic liar he is?"
She could have thrown out the idea that the girl hd thrown herself at Ted, but she didn't believe it, and she didn't want to get Andi's hopes up. Of all people, why did he have to do this to Andi?
"It's going to hurt like hell for a while, Andi," Molly told her honestly. "But maybe he's figured out that he's pretty miserable without you, too."

Andi frowned into her empty glass, then clumsily reached for the bottle to pour a refill. "I hope he's miserable," she said in a sour tone. "Then maybe he'll come back. Oh, Molly, I know I shouldn't, but I really want him to come back. I feel so... lost... without him...."
She wasn't exactly sure when it had happened, but somehow he had become her whole world. She'd given him her heart, mind, body, and soul, and now she had nothing left.
