"As long as you don't plan on falling down a well. But if that's what you want then I'm sure I'd love it too. And yes I have in fact seen a muggle TV but I couldn't figure out to make it work." The fact that it needed to be plugged in had never occured to him when he'd tried moving the little knobs and buttons on it. "What would you name a dog, Lassie?" It seemed like an odd name to him but he didn't mind what she named her dog, as long as she was happy. He liked seeing her happy, because it made him happy in return. She had such a breathtaking smile that lit up her whole face.

Genevieve giggled. "No, I certainly don't plan on falling down a well!" she said. "I don't even think I'd know where to find a well. At least, not where I came from. There weren't any wells around, ever. Although I did know a kid who got trapped in an old abandoned mine. It was his own fault, really, he wandered in, looking for gold. It was pretty dumb of him, though, because he was in a coal mine!"
She let out a contented sigh and shifted position, so that she was lying with her head on his lap, looking up at his face while her hair was spread out on the grass like a shiny gold curtain. "I don't know what I'd name a dog. Certainly not Lassie, though. I always thought it was kind of a silly name. Don't you think?"

It was certainly unoriginal, but he hadn't wanted to say that, just in case she did actually like the name.
He couldn't resist the urge to run his fingers through her hair, which was soft as silk, and about as shiney.
"I suppose it is," he finally agreed. "So, what would you name your dog, then, Viv?"

Genevieve closed her eyes as he ran his fingers through her hair. She had always liked when people played with her hair, and she liked it most of all when he did it. It made her shiver with excitement. "I don't know," she said thoughtfully. "I think it would be hard to pick out a name for a dog or anything else, until you see them, you know? Because how else would you know if the name suited them without looking at them? Like, you wouldn't want to name a big, tough-looking dog Fifi, or a tiny little poodle Killer." She giggled at the thought of it.
"Although I kind of like the idea of giving them human names, like Charlie or Harry. Or maybe something regal for a big dog, like Prince or Duke."

"I don't know, Viv. I actually really, really want a poodle now that I could name Killer." He laughed at the thought, but sobered up quickly when the thought turned into the two of them in a big house with a poodle that barked a lot. Why was she in every thought he had about the future lately? He was worried that his own thoughts were working faster than hers.
He wanted to get her a dog, though it would be impossible while they were in school. But something like a Retriever... something gentle and loving that she could dote on.

Genevieve smiled. "You're silly, Lance," she said. She closed her eyes and tried to imagine a poodle named Killer, and only came up with a scary white puffball that barked a lot and bared its teeth.
"I'd rather have a big dog... something sweet and gentle, that would protect our children," she said in a dreamy tone, unaware of the fact that she had referred to "their" children, as if the future existence of such a thing were a foregone conclusion. "Maybe a golden retriever. And I'd want three or four."
