He shrugged. "You're obviously not as interested as I thought you'd be," he said. "That's fine. I can keep other people's secrets too."
Thought it wasn't hard to piece together. What other possible reason would Adele have had for being angry but jealousy?

Samantha had her theories and she wouldn't have been surprised if Adele liked her brother, many girls did, many were disappointed. She would have been surprised if her brother returned the attention, however she wasn't about to talk to Dorian about it, she would have preferred he didn't talk about her or her family at all, he was dangerous with that tongue of his.

Dorian sighed, but he wondered if he could egg her on. He decided against it, knowing she close off immidiately, and he had only just now gotten her to close her book.
"What are you reading?" he asked, feigning interest to keep the conversation going.

Sam lifted the cover to show him some inconsequential title, it wasn't really what she was reading, but it was a good cover for the book she had in her hands. She wouldn't want him to see what she was really reading, she would lose the element of surprise which was ofen a woman's first point in battle...not that she was going into battle with him...no of course not...but it didn't hurt to be prepared.

She gave him a look before her eyes turned soft and luminous "I'm sorry." she apologized softly, "What would you like to talk about?"
It would have been easier if he wasn't gorgeous, his looks were a problem as was her own budding passion, he had made her angry yesterday, she hadn't been angry at another person in a while on a personal level. There was a thin line between anger and passion.

He rolled his eyes. "You like to play games, don't you?" He asked. "It's all right. Almost everyone here does. It's.... intrigueing," he said, shrugging.
"So. Beauxbatons. Why did you transfer? Was it because of your brother?"

"I'm not playing a game." she said and there was an easy smile behind her eyes, " You simply pointed out that I was being rude and distracted while you were trying to talk. Well you have my full attention now." she stated.
When he asked about her brother again she shrugged, " One of the reasons I guess, and it's closer to home." she answered without mentioning anything remotely close to the real reason.

He knew she was being vague on purpose, and he wanted the whole story. There was something intriguing going on here, and he wanted to know what it was.

"Oh it was quite painless I assure you. There are a few I will miss from Beauxbatons but we keep in touch through owls. I'm not adverse to change." she shrugged, " Life changes for everyone, and I'm hoping to be very happy here. I think I've made an okay start at it as well."

"I wouldn't go that far." she said shaking her head, not *everyone* liked her, there were a few who distinctly didn't like her, but she could deal with that. "What question?" she asked still somewhat avoiding the story he obviously wanted.

"Middle of the year?" she asked, " Not so far in." she said shaking her head, " I've only missed a few classes, otherwise I'm all caught up, and family is very important to me so I'm glad to have transfered. You're sniffing for a story that isn't there Dorian...I'm sorry. My life just isn't that exciting."

She gave him a smile instead of the iritation she felt, " So enough about me. " she said wanting to change the subject, " This is your sixth year, what are you studying?"

They would have a very light conversation then. Her reasons for leaving Beauxbatons were her own and they were messy she wasn't about to share them with someone like Dorian. He was the type, she thought, that would indulge in drama, in her own personal pain even if it amused him. He was so apethetic it seemed he'd do anything, step on anyone, just to feel something. They were alike in that aspect, but she had other things that drove her to do the things she did.
"Do you have an idea of what subjects? " she asked, "Do you have a favorite subject?"

He laughed. "I'm not stupid," he told her. "I just find it hard to care much about subjects in school. Defense is interesting. I wish it delved a little more into the dark arts, but what can you do?"

She hitched then, it was a small hitch but her brows had rose slightly. It was different when you knew the dark arts from childhood. When you went to bed wondering what punishment would be next. Oh it was very different, dark arts...well she had, had her fill.
"No you're much too clever to be stupid." she said instead.
