"Woah, woah, woah." Gideon was uncomfortable enough when he thought Molly didn't like Arthur. And now she was kissing him, right in front her brother. Uncomfortable would have been pleasant to the awwakrdness Gideon now felt as a witness to their scene. "Alright, no kissing please. At least wait until my back is turned Molls. Honestly! I don't want to see that."

Arthur was still blushing. "I... we're sorry, Gideon... just forgot you were there and all..." He took a deep breath. "So... um, Molly, would you maybe like to go out for coffee later? Um, with me, that is?" he added as if it was an afterthought. "I'd really like a chance to be able to talk to you some more."

Molly shook her head, still not acknowledging her brother for the moment. He had made her feel terrible about herself for a couple of days... he was going to have to work for it now.
"I have to work later," she told him. "Another time? Gideon and I should really be going, soon." She took a deep breath and held it in her lungs for a minute before she expelled it.
"Send me an owl," she said, her eyes almost imperceptibly narrowing. "And we'll work out a time."

Arthur smiled, feeling a weight lifted off his shoulders. So he hadn't completely blown everything with her! He almost wanted to do a little dance in the middle of the hallway, but he refrained. "I will. I promise... I'll send it to you this time, instead of sweating over every word. I'll send it as soon as I get home tonight. And we can go whenever is good for you."
He glanced at Gideon. "Thanks again for the lamp, mate. And for not killing me when Molly and I... well, you know." He blushed fiercely.

"If I were you I wouldn't make a habit out of it Arthur. I may not Head your department but I do have some ties to those higher up." He gave a lopsided smile to show Arthur that he was kidding. Once the shock of this startling revelation wore off, he would also be able to joke with Molly. But at the moment he was hurt that she hadn't mentioned this sooner, and weirded out that he had had to witness it.

Molly bit her lip as she smiled, and mouthed 'bye' to Arthur. He had one more chance... if he didn't send that owl, she was officially giving up on him.
She tugged Gideon away. "I suppose I have couple of things to explain, don't I?" She asked, tilting her head. "I'm really sorry. You're not angry, are you?"
The last thing she wanted was her brother disappointed in her.

"Angry? What? No, of course. But we'll talk it over more once I get some food in me. You know; happy stomaches, happy heads." They left the Ministry, headed for the restaurant.
