Molly usually didn't have reason to go to the Ministry, even if both of her brothers worked there. Today, however, she was in London doing a little shopping, and had the night off, and thought about taking both Gideon and Fabian to dinner. She came to the Ministry about the time they should both be getting off work anyway.
She had tried the Auror Department first, but Fabian hadn't been there. In fact, very few Aurors had been. It made her shiver to think they were all probably out on missions or doing something dangerous. She tried not to let this make her worry about Fabian. When he wasn't in the Ministry, he was pretty hard to track down.
Gideon, however, was a little easier to find, as he had his own office and a whole department to run. Checking in with the secretary, she was assured that Gideon was in, and she took a seat to wait for him.

Gideon had spent the entire day coordinating the Floo Network to accommodate double its normal occupancy. With more and more terrorist attacks, people are opting out on using the old fashioned means of travel, brooms. It was becoming too dangerous to be out by yourself in the later hours. So more witches and wizards chose the safety of the Floo Network. Of course, this whole situation was upsetting everyone who worked in the department's sub-departments. A few of the men from the Portkey Office had been temporarily reassigned to the Floo Network, while some of the employees from the Apparition Test Facilities were reassigned to the Broom Regulation Department to create safety measure for those still wishing to fly. The whole thing was a nightmare.
He had just sent out the last of the reassignment orders when his Secretary, Dottie, had informed him that his sister had arrived. He told Dottie to send Molly in. Gideon checked his date book, to see if he had forgotten an appointment but found nothing involving any of his family on today's agenda. He then wondered if something bad had happened. The door creaked open and Gideon shut his date book and slipped it into the top drawer of his desk.

Molly had been content to wait for him, but since she was sent in anyway, she figured, all the better.
Pushing the door open slightly, she knocked when she could see her brother's face, and she had a warm smile on her own. "Hi, Gideon," she said, stepping inside and closing the door. "Aren't you supposed to be off work by now?" she asked. She didn't see enough of Gideon or Fabian anymore, and even that worried her. She knew that they both had been swamped lately, and it made her happy that she had such a non descript job while she figured out what she wanted to do with her life. It also put her life in a rather harsh perspective, when both of her oler brothers were working on saving lives and things like that. It made being a waitress seem like something to keep quiet at family get togethers.

((Not sure if this is for Fabian as well, since it says that Molly missed him, but I'll post anyhow.))
Fabian had just been up in his office, attempting to fix the wobbly desk that was driving him insane. Sure, sure, there were other things that should have been occupying his time, since he was one of the best Aurors on the job, but that desk had just been bugging him for the longest time. He suspected that perhaps one of his co-workers had done it just so they could see him snap and hex the thing into a million little pieces. Normally, he was very happy and outgoing and nothing could get him down, but that desk had just been so wobbly for so long that it had finally made him go crazy.
After a few moments of trying to put the shattered desk back together, he shrugged, and then picked up the whole load of wood (Minus the papers and other objects that had been on the top; he had put those in the corner before putting the desk back together), and chucked it. He'd find a new desk tomorrow, Fabian was sure. He grinned, and then went into the lift, hoping to go downstairs and check on his brother. He never saw Gideon anymore, or so it seemed. The both of them were always having work and whenever they seemed to have a moment to talk, something came to interrupt them.
He squeezed between two rather large witches in the lift, said a hasty hello, and willed the lift to go faster. Eventually, the lift stopped on Gideon's floor, and Fabian practically fell out. He turned, waved to the witches, and set off for his brother's office. He nearly got hit in the eye with one of the flying memos that seemed to be all over the office, and almost fell again. It just wasn't his day, apparently. He couldn't care less though, and the bright smile that had been plastered on his face since he had destroyed the desk never slipped. He was that good at not showing emotions.
One of the reasons that Fabian had wanted to become an Auror was so that he could prove himself. His family, although they admitted that he was smart, had always seen him as the goofy oldest brother, it seemed. Yet he had made a complete turnaround after being accepted into the program. Now, instead of always joking around and not being serious, he was always joking around and not being serious and being known as one of the best Aurors to ever work in the office. Let's see if Gideon could top that, despite being head of one of the 'lesser' departments, in Fabian's mind.
Fabian took a sharp left, and stopped in front of Dottie's desk. Dottie was Gideon's secretary, and a rather pretty woman at that. Fabian had asked her out, once before and she had declined. Now, it was a never ending battle between the two of them. He would ask her out, she would say no. She would ask him out, he would say no. Rather amusing. He waved to her, then stepped around the desk, letting himself into Gideon's office. Imagine his surprise when he saw not only Gideon, but Molly as well. "Mollywobbles!" he cried out, in a jolly manner, and going over to hug his sister.

His younger sister, Molly, had entered his office. He was surprised to see her. It seemed like ages since they last got together. He stood from behind his desk and greeted her. "Molly, what a pleasant surprise." He moved around the desk toward where she stood, it was less formal than him sitting behind his large desk and having her sit in one of the little chairs. "Technically speaking, I was off an hour ago. But work is never done when you're the Head, you know."
Just then the door swung open again and yet another Prewett walked through. This time it was his twin brother, Fabian. Fabian greeted Molly first. Gideon was sure the boys had seen each other since Fabian had last seen Molly. And though they were very close brothers, Gideon had always been a little jealous of Fabian, and didn't mind him not making a fuss over Gideon. "What brings you two down here? This isn't some sort of intervention is it?" Gideon laughed at his sorry excuse for a joke. Fabian would have said something far funnier, Gideon was sure.

Molly was swept up by Fabian before she could even reply to her other brother, and she smiled widely, hugging him tightly. "I was just at your office looking for you!" She said. "I must have missed you."
She took a step back and looked over them both. "No, no intervention," she said. "You both look really great. Tell me again why I haven't seen either of you recently? Too busy saving the world?"

"Well," he said, responding to Molly but looking smugly at Fabian. "When you're the Head of the Department, there isn't time for much else. You know how it is..." He leaned on the edge of his desk, folding his arms across his chest and smiling at the both of them. "How's your job going, Molly? Any interesting characters bother you lately?"

"You stop it," Molly said to Gideon, rolled her eyes and looked at Fabian, pointing a finger at him. "Don't you start about how great Aurors are. Or I'll have to leave before I slip and hurt myself on testosterone." She was teasing them both to an extent, but their rivalry at being the best twin was too much sometimes.
She took a seat at his desk. "I ran into our dear cousins the other night," she offered up. "The Black girls and their respective fiances. Not such wonderful tippers."

Fabian shrugged, putting Molly back down on solid ground. "Did you check under the desk?" he joked. "You know I love a good nap; I find that when I'm under there, people tend not to bother me." He went to go and sprawl in Gideon's chair. He put his arms behind his head, then shook it. "Nah. I've been doing the usual. Napping, dueling, napping some more...did I mention napping?" he teased, again, before letting Gideon's comment roll off of his back. He'd been taking flack from his brother for so long that it just came naturally to him to ignore it now. He sat up, and began to rummage through Gideon's desk.
Fabian was opening up the bottom drawer when he heard Molly. He went to go straighten up, but ended up banging his head on the desk. "Cripes..." he muttered, rubbing his shaggy hair. "The Blacks? Well, I haven't seen them in ages. How're they doing?" Fabian wasn't much for silly rivalries amongst the family; while he might not see eye to eye with them on everything, he wasn't about to start hating them. They were family, after all. He went back to going through Gideon's desk, grinning and leaning back as he deposited the new copy of 'Playwitch' in his brother's top right hand drawer. Wait until his secretary found that.

"Do you mind?" Gideon said, snatching the magazine and flinging it back into the desk drawer in one swift movement. He slammed the drawer shut and glared at Fabian for a while before turning back to Molly. "The Black's, eh? Was Andromeda there? I thought uncle Cyngus had disowned her for joining up with your kind Fab." He glanced back at Fabian to make sure he wasn't going through his desk anymore. Brothers could be so bothersome.

"You're going to need to lock your drawers, Gideon."
Molly was smiling watching the two of them. Thank Merlin she didn't have a sister; she'd go out of her mind.
"Yes... Andi was there," she answered slowly, then looked at Gideon very seriously. "I think she might have been disowned. She's been dating a muggleborn, and her sisters found out. It wasn't pretty."

"Tell me about it," Gideon replied grimly, smacking his brother's hand away from the next drawer he was about to rummage through. "Perhaps I'll curse it just to mess with you, Fabian." The nerve of his brother, really! And yet, it made him laugh. Damn Fabian's unsurpassed ability to induce laughter! But as Molly continued his expression darkened. "Did you give them a good tongue lashing Molls? We can't let them berate poor Andromeda. We need her to be up to par if she's going to overshadow Fabian in Auror duties."

Molly shrugged. "I wish I could have. I was working, though, and I really don't want to risk losing my job. Malfoy gives the restaurant too much business."
She sighed and leaned back, her thoughts wandering and her frown matching. "You both work here..." she said, looking up suddenly. "What do the two of you think of Tonks? Aftr what she did for him... I just don't want to see her get hurt. And I don't know the bloke at all."
She found another reason to lament not working in the Ministry like her brothers. "Maybe I should take the test to be an Auror," she murmured.

"Don't you dare! I'll not have my sister thrown to wolves like that. Aurors are constantly in danger of loosing their life. Why do you think I allow Fabian to continue on with it? It's only time before I'm the funny brother." He laughed darkly. His words, at least the first few, were truthful ones. He did not want his sister put in any danger. It would wreck him.
"Now, about this Tonks. I've only met him a few times. Nice enough bloke. Seems like an upright citizen. What do you say Fab?" Gideon turned back to see that his brother had once again gotten hold of his magazine, and was clearly paying no attention to the conversation. "Bloody hell Fabian. Keep it in your pants until you get home!" But he did not take the magazine from him, he was too quiet this way. Much less of a bother to Gideon.
"Let's leave him be. I can see he's going to be a while with that one. Miss September, quite intriguing." Gideon wiggled his eyebrows jokingly at his sister. "Come. We can get something to eat. I'm famished."

Molly nodded quietly. She got really quiet when she was pensive.
Still, she afforded her brother a slight smile as he gested about the magazine, and got to her feet. "Yes, all right. I wanted to ask if you wanted to get something to eat anyway."
Her smile grew just a little as she added, "Anywhere but Repas."

"Not to worry. I don't intend to have you working throughout our meal. And I certainly don't intend to pay so much for food when I'm not trying to impress anyone. They don't pay me enough here for that luxury." He pulled open the door and allowed room for his sister to pass. "I'll allow you to pick where we eat."
"Oh, hold on a minute. I'd almost forgot." He went back behind his desk, squeezing past Fabian to get to the wood cabinet against the wall. From it he pulled out a bright red lava lamp and held it for Molly to see. "Thought he might want this. Intern in my department thought a muggle would think this trash. Wanted to use it as a portkey, could you imagine?"

Molly tilted her head at it. It made her think of Arthur, and that was a completely unbidden thought. She didn't want to think about Arthur, especially since she hadn't heard from him since they met.
She stepped closer to her brother and reached out her hand, her fingers brushing against the shaped glass. "I know someone who would absolutely love this. You're giving it to Fab?"

"Christ no. I thought Arthur Weasley might like it. He's in the Misuse of Muggle Artifacts. Now, it's not been tampered with in any way, but I think he'd like it well enough, knowing the bloke a bit." He watched his sister's eyes loose focus briefly, what could this device have made her think of? Had she seen one of these before?

Her eyes flicked to Gideon's as soon as that name left his lips, and her smile faded. "Oh." She said. That meant Gideon intended to stop by Arthur Weasely's office on the way out, and she didn't want to join him. For one, she hadn't told either of her brothers about him, and was sure that Gideon would notice something between them... was there anything between them?
"Should I meet you outside then?" She asked a moment later.

"No way. Come with me. I think you'd like Arthur, he's a real good bloke." Gideon wriggled out from behind the desk where Fabian still seemed to not even notice them. He tucked the lava lamp under his arm and headed back to the door that was still ajar. "I won't be long. I know it would be awkward, sitting there while we talked about Ministry things. I promise, a nice short visit." He stepped into the hall.
