Bridget entered the Leaky Cauldron with Ed, a large smile on her face. When they had met once before she could sense some sparks, at least on her end, but she had gotten swept away by the Minister before they could really get to know each other. But now they had another chance, and Bridget was a giddy as a school witch. The place was crowded, like always, and Bridget looked to Ed to find them a suitable place to sit.

Ed looked around then nodded to a booth in the back corner. He waited for her to go first, the saying is ladies first.

Ed had directed her to a booth and she crossed the room and slid in. The cushion was brown leather, with a few rips in it. The table had rings on it, from previous drinks which hadn't been properly cleared away. But all these things Bridget didn't even notice. She sat happily, waiting to give her drink order to the waitress. From time to time she looked over at Ed, who still seemed unable to talk properly in front of her. It was adorable. She decided to strike up a conversation.
"So where did you grow up Ed?"

"London. What about you?" Ed had a few new scars on his face since he last saw her, they were from the bear that he fights with a lot. He looked up when the waitress came over she recognized Ed, "Hello, Mr. Elric, your usual?" Ed shook his head, "Nah, today I'll just have a butterbeer." She nodded and wrote his order down then looked at Bridget, "And for you, Miss?"

"I'll just have a glass of red wine," Bridget said to the waitress. After the woman left Bridget returned to her conversation with Ed. "I was raised in Ottery Saint Catchpole. In the orphanage there."
The fact that she was an orphan hadn't bothered Bridget since her fourteenth birthday. There was no point in it anymore. Her parents weren't going to come bac just because she was uncomfortable being alone while everyone else had parents.

Ed ran his hand through his hair nervously. "Life's hard, huh?" He made a mental note note to mention how his life was. "Why did you become a Vampire Slayer?" He didn't have a real reason for being a hunter, he just loved the rush of fighting against animals.

Bridget's cheeks flushed at she looked at her hands. "You'll think it's silly."
She hadn't even told the reason to her employer, well, not the whole reason. It was foolish, her outlook on life and yet her reasons for her career seemed to contradict said outlook. She was a walking contradiction and wouldn't want Edward to think so as well.

"I'll tell you my reason if you tell me yours." Edward said grinning, he winked at the waitress as she sat the drinks down. He then regretted it when he looked back at Bridget, if he was going to have any chance with her he needed to keep his attention on her.

She was still looking at her hands when the waitress returned with their drinks. She hadn't noticed Ed's flirting, and wouldn't have cared if she had. She knew how fleeting men's attention could be.
She decided she would take him up on his offer, since he seemed somewhat sympathic to her feelings. "Well honestly I had no idea what I was going to do after I finished Hogwarts. But I had seen a seer just after graduating and she told me..."
Bridget stopped, her cheeks flushing again. It was silly to have chosen a career based on what a seer had told her. But Ed looked at her with such sweet eyes she decided to continue.
"She told me I would find family while hunting for a vampyre. And once I started I realized I loved it. And I'm actually good at it, too." She sounded somewhat surprised by herself, and smiled.

"That sounds like a better reason then mine, I only hunt for the rush, I ain't fought a werewolf yet but I do fight bears, there's this one bear that has sorta became a friend." Ed felt a little embarrassed at admitting he was friends with a bear, he knew that bears aren't the same as werewolves but he didn't care.

Bridget was stunned. She had never heard of anyone fighting with a bear, and still being able to walk around. "A bear? How did you start fighting with bears?" She drank her wine as she looked at Ed, hoping he would explain what he meant.

"It's a strange story, the bear attacked me and when I fought back I realized that it would be good training for when I came across werewolves. The bear had knocked me out and when I woke up I was surprised to find it laying right beside me, it's head on my legs. I barely moved and it woke up but didn't attack or anything, I thought it was really strange when it just let me walk away." Edward said before taking a drink of his butterbeer, he grinned at her, he couldn't help but admire her, she was so beautiful.

The tale was interesting, to say the least. She had never heard accounts of wild animals behaving in such a manner. Though she had no reason not to believe him. After all, there were far stranger things happening everyday all around her. "Fascinating."
She leaned closer to Ed, reaching her hand across the table to lightly touch his. "You must have been very brave to return to fight that bear."

Edward smiled, "I almost tried to play dead but I didn't know how long it would be before it left so I thought fighting back would get it too frustrated to bother with me." he shrugged like it was no big deal. Though most guys would agree with the girl just because they wanted to get with them.

Bridget laughed. "I'm having a really great time Ed. I'd love to do this again sometime." She really had to be getting on with her day. She was given a special assignment that morning and had to prepare for dusk. Plus, she still needed to get a birthday present for her friend.

Edward smiled, "I'm having a good time too." He hoped she wouldn't say she had to leave already, he felt like they just started talking.

She could tell he didn't want her to leave yet, and she didn't either. But her job was very important to her. Racking her brain, she came up with a possible solution. Cocking her head to the right, she smiled at him. "What are you doing tonight?"

Ed was caught a little off guard at her question. "Nothing really, just go home." He wondered what she had on her mind.

"Well I do have to get going. I have to finish a few things before nightfall. But...well I was wondering..."
Bridget now felt that her idea was quite stupid and that Ed would never go for it. Why would he want to waste his time hunting with her? But of course, there was no harm in asking. Besides, she was almost positive Ed didn't want her to leave. So wouldn't he want to spend more time with her if he could? They seemed to be getting on well enough. She argued with herself silently for a few moments before she decided to just throw caution to the wind.
"Since you're a werewolf hunter you obviously have no qualms about going on a hunt. And it can et awful lonesome at times, in my line of work. I'm sure you feel the same way. So...oh buggar I'm just going to ask. Do you want to come out with me tonight?"

Ed relax a little, he was glad it wasn't what he thought it was. "Sure, I'd love to." He tossed a few galleons on the table to pay for both their drinks. He finished off his butterbeer then looked at her with a slight glazed look.
