"Very good, Miss Heart! Five points to Ravenclaw! You could also use Incendio, but you'd be in danger of destroying the plant. Lumos is less effective, but also less dangerous." He walked over and brought out a plant. "This is the Devil's Snare. We're going to be pruning it, and snipping off some of the leaves to use for potions. Make sure you keep your wands ready, in case the plant starts to grab you. Please come up and take a plant, two people per plant, please."

Severus got a plant as sat it near Remus, he put on his dragon hid gloves and snipped a few leaves off. "here, try and get a few thorns, they havd different properties than the leaves" he said handing Remus the shears.

"OK," Remus said. He took the shears and tried to snip off a few thorns. He managed to get 4 of the thorns before the plant suddenly snapped and wound itself around his wrist. "Ow! Help!"

Since their plant was fairly small, Severus did a small firey spark and the plnat released Remus. "are you ok? did it go through the glove?" he asked trying to see the other boy's wrist.
