Severus smirked in james direction. "Nah nah! I'm not self centered! " he quipped then looked reasonable abashed for acting so out of norm for himself, but he smiled anyway when Rori shot him a seeming shocked glance.

"Hey, Sirius, over here!" called James. "You're getting like me." He laughed and began to mix up his potion. "We're on page 85." He added some powdered moonstones and hellebore root, then began chopping up some lavender leaves. After a few minutes, he added the lavender, along with some lemongrass, and let the mixture boil slowly.

Sabrina looked over at Remus. "OK, this one is a bit tough, because powdered moonstone is tricky to work with. Sometimes it's more concentrated than other times. My advice is to use a little less than you're supposed to. If you need more, you'll know by the color at the end. It should be a really soothing blue color. If you add too much or it's too strong, it will turn black and sticky." She mixed up her potion, adding the moonstone first and then stirring it slowly. "Also, wait a little bit before adding each ingredient. If you go too fast... well, you'll pull an Anna!"

"Ok, thanks," Remus said, smiling at her. She always looked so pretty in potions, with her hair tied back, and the serious, thoughtful look on her face. He added the powdered moonstones and stirred slowly, waiting a few minutes before adding the next ingredient. He kept doing this until he added the last ingredient and he let it boil on low heat while his potion turned an inky black. He sighed. "I'm hopeless!" he moaned.

Rori looked over at Remus. "Hey, you're not hopeless, cause you haven't pulled an Anna yet, so don't worry." she said grinning. Rori turned to page 85. "Alright Naicelle, let's get to work. Add in the moonstone very slowly, and added the other ingredients in slowly, if not, well it goes boom, and we don't need that." said Rori smiling.

Seeing that Anna was once again not in class Severus set up and began to prep his ingrdients. He bruised his lemon grass before chopping it for his potion, instead of chopping his lavendar he tore it into bits and set his potion to work, it became a fairy light blue.

"Okay, so now we stir." said Rori stirring the potion slowly. "I pray this potion comes out right." she said smiling. The potion turned into a light bluish color. "I think that's right. Professor, we're finished."

Slughorn walked around the room, checking everyone's potions. First he checked on James, whose potion he deemed "Not bad." Then he checked on Sabrina's, and said it was "very good." Remus's potion was, unfortunately, "all wrong," but Rori and Naicelle were both "pretty good." When he got to Severus, however, he clapped the boy on the back. "Excellent, Severus! ten points for Slytherin!" He looked around the room and said, "Anyone else?"

Peter had entered class and was genrally ignored by everyone. He had made a mediocor potion as it looked greyblue.

Slughorn wasabout to dismiss the class when he spotted the boy sitting in the corner. "Oh, right... Pettigrew, right? Let's have a look..." He waddled over to the back of the room and checked Peter's potion. "Well, it's not great," Slughorn said. "It's barely passable, actually. But a good effort."
He moved back to the front of the class and said, "All right, class, for your homework, I'd like you to read and summarize the chapter on moonstone powder, and be prepared for a written test on potion ingredients! Class dismissed."
