Meeting

[Chloe Owen]

"He is," replied Chloe with a grin. She thought about for how long her and Karl have been together. "We've been together for a several weeks, give or take a few days," replied Chloe, playing with the salt shaker on the table. "What about you Dean, do you have a girlfriend or anything?"

[Dean Hallowell]

Only a few weeks... yes, maybe he could work with that... "Me? No... There was a girl I used to like back at school, but she was dating a git. They were pretty much engaged." He shrugged, as if it didn't really bother him that he'd always been practically invisible to girls. "I like being single, anyway. I'm not really the romantic type. I've always been a bit of a loner."

"That's what I thought I was too," replied Chloe. "I never cared to have a boyfriend during school, or anything, then becoming a werewolf, I just dropped the whole thing. I was more wrapped up with trying to understand what was happening and trying to blend in with everyone as much as possible. Then I ended up in this pack, and well, you know the rest."

[Dean Hallowell]

"Well, maybe I'll change now that I'm not at school," Dean said. "I really didn't like school.. everyone in my house was so full of themselves, and they acted like everyone else didn't matter." He didn't add that he had secretly thought he was better than most of them, anyway. "I just really couldn't wait to be out of there, you know?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Maybe, you never know," said Chloe. "I understand. I attended Beauxtons before attending Hogwarts. The girls there always thought they were higher than each other. Finally my parents gained some sense and transferred me to Hogwarts my last two years of school. It was horrible there at Beauxtons. Girls always competing for every single thing. I have to admit, there wasn't ever really a dull moment there. I liked Hogwarts better, however, because things were slightly more peaceful, plus too, Dumbledore was always kind to me." Chloe gave him a smile. "It does feel good to be out of school, even now. I wouldn't really want to go back, however, I do go back every now and again to check up on Remus."

[Dean Hallowell]

"Hmm, yeah, Dumbledore," Dean said. He had never really been fond of Dumbledore, like most other Slytherins, but he decided again not to tell her that. "Yeah, he seemed to be pretty understanding of all different types of people. What house were you in when you went to Hogwarts?"

[Chloe Owen]

"I was in Ravenclaw," said Chloe. "The hat couldn't decide on Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw, but finally it decided on Ravenclaw. I made a few friends there, but not that many. Then again, I didn't really spend time talking to people. My parents wanted me to just study study study and make perfect scores on everything. Needless to say, I did do extremely well in school, but I didn't get perfects on everything. My parents weren't really into me having that many friends or anything, but they'd fuss when I'd come home and they found out that I still didn't have a boyfriend or anything. That's another reason why they just set me up on my eighteenth. But anyway, what about you? What house were you in?"

[Dean Hallowell]

Well, at least she wasn't in Gryffindor, he thought. "I was in Slytherin," he said with a half-smile. "My parents were purebloods, and they were both from really old families. Our whole family, on both sides, were in Slytherin. All except my crazy aunt... she's a squib. The two of us are the only members of my family left. I have some distant relatives in the Malfoy family, but that's about it."

[Chloe Owen]

"It's good that you still have family, even if they are distant. While you're here, we're like your new family, I guess you could say. If you ever need anything, just ask for it, even if you have some kind of question and you think it's stupid, ask it anyway. No one is going to laugh at you. Most of the time, I'm some where around the house. If I'm not here, then I'm at the Hot Panini. It's right up the street, so if you want to visit, talk, anything, you can just come by there, or just find me around here," said Chloe.

[Dean Hallowell]

Dean smiled at her. "That's cool. So you have, like a job and everything, then, huh? Does your boss know what you are? I still have to figure out what I'm gonna do, or if I'm gonna do anything at all. Do the other werewolves have jobs?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Well, Zander works at the Hog's Head sometimes," said Chloe. "Other than that, no one else really works. No, my boss doesn't have any idea what I am, but the girl I work with does. She found out by accident, but she's cool with it, and we've become best friends I guess you can say. But she's the only human around here that knows what I am. If you want a job, you can get one, but you have to take off at least three days a month. I think your boss will probably find that reasonable, that is if you go to work. You don't have to work if you don't want to, and you can come and go as you please, but you need to be here on full moons of course."

Dean thought about that for a second. "I might look into that... maybe I could work in one of the shops or something. But how do you tell your boss that you need to miss those days, without him getting suspicious about why?"

[Chloe Owen]

Chloe thought about it for a second, then shrugged. "I just told Chef that there would be a few days in the month that I would take off, and he never asked why," said Chloe. "Maybe you could just try that, then let them know a few days in advance when you want some days off. Or, you could just tell them that you could come in later the next day than usual."

[Dean Hallowell]

"That makes sense," Dean replied. "I may just do that. I imagine the pack could probably use some extra money, and I want to help however I can." He looked at her for a minute. "You said you went to Hogwarts and everything... are the rest of the pack members wizards and witches, too?"

[Chloe Owen]

"Well, some of them were turned when they were little, and didn't really learn magic. The only ones that really use wands around here are me and Zander. That's just about it, well, now, other than you," said Chloe.
