Korbel laughed. "I guess that's true, but I'm glad to see that you have another side other than your tough girl always wanting to party side," he said with a small ruffle of her hair. "I know that, and you mean a lot to me too. I wouldn't have ever made it without you being there."

Quinn smiled. "Yeah, I guess a girl can't party all the time, huh?" she said. "I really missed you when I was stuck inside that stupid jail. I hated not being able to talk to you."

"I missed you then too," said Korbel. "I had to find things to keep myself occupied to make sure that I was entertained instead of just sitting around since you weren't there. You've always been entertainment," he said with a grin. "While you were in jail, I talked to Dawn some, but I felt like I couldn't really talk to her, like the way we talk about things."

Quinn gave him a playful punch on his arm. "Yeah, well, I would have written to you, if I'd thought you'd write back! You never were very good at keeping up with letters and stuff." She sighed. "The girl... does she pretty much just stay in that cave? It won't be easy to keep her a secret from Gretchen if she goes out. And I gotta tell you, I'm not comfortable with keeping secrets from Gretchen. Remember what she did to Viggo when he got involved with that girl from that other pack in France and didn't tell Gretchen about it? I hear he's still in the hospital."

Korbel grinned. "Yeah, I've never really been good at keeping up with things, and I can't really write that well either," said Korbel. "Yeah, she does pretty much stay in that cave. She only goes out every once in awhile. Gretchen has already met her. I introduced them. She knows that we're friends."

Quinn nodded, but she felt slightly hurt again, realizing that she had been the last to know. "Well, I guess that's good, then. Gretchen won't get so suspicious if you're not keeping everything from her. Just... be careful, OK?" She sighed. "I'm not gonna pressure you into making a choice between us... but you're gonna have to sooner or later. Preferably sooner."

Korbel flashed her a grin. "I'm glad," said Korbel. "You don't know how many times I've wanted to beat up guys for just looking at you. I know, I know, I shouldn't have been that way, but I was. But in some cases, why do you think I was in so many bar fights?"
