The Grassy Hill

[Bellatrix Black]

Bellatrix was feeling better after her confrontation with Logan and decided to enjoy the warm summer weather. She laid back onto the vivid green grass on a hill that overlooked Hogsmeade. There were a few shade trees growing sporadically over the hill but Bella was not near any of them, preferring the warm of the sun to the cool shade. Folding her arms behind her head, she stared up at the clouds, watching as they slowly changed forms. A large white cloud seemed to swallow the sun and the entire hillside was covered in shadow.

Ed stumbled from the woods that were near the hill. He was all banged up and his arm and face had claw marks on them. His leg had a few bite marks but he had a smile on his face. He fell as the bear jumped on him. "Oh get off, Dimwit!" The bear that had jumped on him was one he fought with every chance he got. Growling the bear got off him then ran back into the woods.

A commotion could be heard at the edge of the woods, more than five metres away. Bella sat up on her arms and stared as man stumbled out, followed shortly by a large bear. The man fought with the beast until it ran off, back into the safety of the trees. This was the most absurd scene she had ever witnessed. Bella just sat there, stunned by the whole thing.

[Kris Lupin]

"Blasted bear, he knows once I leave the woods I'm done with him!" Ed said to himself as he stood up barely wincing from the pain. He limped to the hill then fell onto the soft grass not far from the other person there. This really was the first time that bear had been so brutal with him.

[Bellatrix Black]

As the man collapsed just a little ways from her, Bellatrix stood up. "What the bloody hell was that?" Bellatrix felt no concern for the man's injuries, but was very curious as to what the bear was doing with that man - or was it the other way around?

[Kris Lupin]

Ed looked at her and smirked. "A bit of training for me." He mumbled into the grass. He forced himself to sit up. He would heal himself but he had left his wand at home. "I fight bears and wolves because I am getting myself ready for when I come across a werewolf."

[Bellatrix Black]

"Well, you don't look as though you'll last very long with a werewolf." She walked closer to him, standing right next to him and looking down at his face which was covered with deep scratches. She placed her hands on her hips and shifted her weight to one leg, cocking her head. The clouds above continued to move and the sun shone brightly on the grass once more.

[Kris Lupin]

"Eh..that fight lasted all night, first time that bear had been that brutal with me." Ed shook his head. He yawned then laid back on the grass, he looked up at her and smirked. "You know from this angle you look kinda cute."

[Bellatrix Black]

She was about to say something nasty about how he wouldn't last two seconds with a werewolf by the look of him, but he had called her cute, and she responded as usual. Smiling, she sat down by him. "Do I?" She asked in a vain manner, playing with her hair and grinning at him.

[Kris Lupin]

"Yeah, you do." He looked up at the clouds, of course he thought most girls to be cute, but she didn't need to know that. He wondered if he would ever find that one true girl for him.

[Bellatrix Black]

His attention turned from her looks to the clouds, and her demeanor changed just as quickly. "So, you're not even going to worry that you are bleeding?" She pointed to one of many gashes on his face that was slowly dripping blood. He might of thought himself brave, but it was just plain stupid to not at least attempt to heal ones injuries.

[Kris Lupin]

"My wand is at my house and my house is far away and I need to rest." Ed said simply. He yawned, "Ya know, I bet you're already taken, seeing how beautiful you are." He smiled at her.

[Bellatrix Black]

"Not too bright, are you? What would you do if someone more fierce than that bear were to attack you?" She considered drawing her wand and clearing the streaks of blood from his face. But she liked watching the crimson liquid as it dripped slowly across his skin, so she kept her wand tucked securely in her pocket. "Taken?" She scoffed at him. 'Taken' implied that she was betrothed without her consent, and anyone who knew Bella knew that she did nothing unless she desired to. "Hardly."

[Kris Lupin]

Ed shrugged at her question. When she had said 'hardly' about his saying she was taken he rose up on his elbows. "Oh, so you aren't with anyone?"

[Bellatrix Black]

She leaned back on her palms, grinning mischievously. "Why? Are you interested?" He might be alright to chat with, but she had standards when it came to choosing a mate. And even if Rodolphus were not in the picture, she wouldn't go for him. But she enjoyed stinging men along and so she skillfully avoided his questions.

[Kris Lupin]

"And if I am?" Ed asked slyly.

[Bellatrix Black]

Bella giggled and turned away as her cheeks reddened slightly. Although she had no interest in him, she did so very much love the attention. "Are you taken?" She asked, brushing a strand of curls behind her ears and letting her fingers run through her hair slowly, then dragging seductively down her long neck.

[Kris Lupin]

Ed shook his head. "No, never could find someone that liked what I did or could make me stop."

[Bellatrix Black]

"Really? I'd imagine there would be plenty of women intrigued by a man daring enough to do such dangerous work...Though, you've already admitted to never having actually come face to face with one of the filthy halfbreeds, so I suppose the ladies wouldn't be all that thrilled by you." She laughed.

[Kris Lupin]

"If only your personality was as good as your looks." Ed mumbled looked back at the clouds. So what if he hadn't ran into one yet, he will, one day and he would be ready.
