Jon headed for the three broomsticks since it was the weekend, and he was thinking about heading over to St. Mungo's to see if he could get a job as an intern there. Whenever he ordered his butterbeer, he took a seat at an empty table. At first, he started to stare off into space, because his mind went back to the picture he had of his sister. The one that his parents disowned and never really got to know. He never really knew why his parents insisted that he stay away from her, but that was their issues, not his. Now, Jon had the incentative to go and find his sister. He reached into his pocket and took out a picture of his sister. Gretchen was her name, and the picture was taken about 12 years ago.

Gretchen strolled casually into the Three Broomsticks. She was hoping to "accidentally" bump into Rochelle here, or maybe Korbel. But if not, she still needed a drink. She cast a quick look around, but didn't see either of her pack members, so she kept going to the bar. "Hi, I'll just have a glass of brandy," she said to the bartender.

Jon took a glance around himself. Just before he looked back down at his picture, he caught a glance of a woman that seemed so familiar to him. He looked back down at the picture, and whenever he looked up, he noticed that she was already at the bar. Jon just shook his head. He wasn't sure that his sister would just show up whenever he was thinking about going to find her, but it still troubled him that she looked familiar. Jon finished his butterbeer quickly and then walked up to the bar and ordered another. He walked up beside the woman, after sticking the picture in his pocket again. Jon sat down his empty glass and asked for another. He turned slightly to the woman and gave her a little smile.

Gretchen was standing at the bar, sipping her drink, when a young man came to stand next to her. He gave her a little smile, and she was struck by a strange feeling. There was something strangely familiar about him... She turned to him and smiled back. "Do... I know you?" she asked.

Jon thought about it for a moment, comtemplating if he should ask her if her name was Gretchen. "Um. Maybe you do. Is your name Gretchen by any chance? Gretchen Thomas? I don't mean to scare you, but it's just, I'm looking for my sister and you seem so familar," said Jon.

"Yeah, I'm Gretchen Thomas," she said, looking at him more carefully. It had been ages since she'd seen her little brother; not since she'd been turned. He'd been so young then... But this boy... he was the right age, and had the same coloring. And the same eyes... "Jonathan?" she gasped. "Is that you?"

Jon continued to study her for a moment. "Yeah, it's me," said Jon. "I was going to start looking for you more now that school is almost over. Mum and Dad wouldn't let me while I was still staying with them, but now, that I'm moving out, I was going to start."

Gretchen was stunned. She hadn't really thought about her family in ages. Buck and the pack had been the only family she had known for such a long time that she had forgotten about what she had left behind. "Wow..." she said numbly. "How... how have you been?" she said. "I... I'm sorry I didn't try to contact you or anything... I just sort of assumed our parents would have poisoned you against me."

"Look, don't worry that you didn't contact me or anything," said Jon. "Mum and Dad tried to tell me that you were a disgrace to our family, but I never listened to them," he said. "Well, currently I'm in the process of moving in with my girlfriend, because we've decided to share a house, since we're fixing to graduate. Then I'm also in the process of getting an internship at St. Mungo's. What about you? What have you been up too?"

"That's great," Gretchen said. "It sounds like you've done really well for yourself." She smiled, feeling a glimmer of pride. "Me? Well, I've been... living in France..." She sighed. "So they told you I was a disgrace to the family, but they didn't tell you why? They didn't tell you what I am?"

"Yeah, they did," said Jon. "But I told them that I didn't care because you were my sister, and that I was going to find you one day," he said. "I hated that they talked about you like that. After awhile, they stopped talking about it. To be honest with you, I don't care what you are. You're still a person, and my sister. I still have a picture from about 12 years ago, that is if you want to see it."

Gretchen nodded. "Yeah... yeah, I'd like to see it," she said softly. "So... they told you... that I'm a werewolf? And it's not like this was an accident. I chose this. I fell in love with a werewolf, and I told him I wanted to become one of them, so I could be with him completely." She sighed. "He's dead now, killed by a werewolf hunter."

Jon took out the picture in his pocket and handed it to her. "I've held onto that picture for the longest," he said. "I'm sorry about your boyfriend," said Jon sincerely.

"He was my husband," she said in a low voice. She stared down at the pciture. It was like being taken back to another time, like another life. It was hard to believe that had ever been her, smiling and carefree, with her younger brother. "Our parents were right, you know." she said. "I'm not this person anymore. I am a disgrace to the family. I've done things that you can't even imagine. I... I can't go back to this." She handed him the picture.

Jon made a small 'oh' sound. "You're not a disgrace, at least in my book. You know our parents always think someone is a disgrace whenever someone doesn't see things their way. I know that you've done alot of stuff, but I don't really care, and I'm not asking you to go back to this. You're my sister, and right now, my parents don't really like me much anymore, since I want to be a doctor. I just wanted to make sure that you were still alive," said Jon.

Gretchen looked at him seriously. "Well, I am still alive. And I'm doing fine. I'm glad you're doing well, too. But why wouldn't our parents want you to be a doctor? What more could they want from you? I would think they'd be happy."

Jon gave a little shrug. "I think what they want me to do is become part of the Order, or something like that. You know, fight evil, all that jazz, but that's not really my thing. I want to help people more than I want to fight them, and I don't think our parents really understand that."

"Well, I think you're doing the right thing," Gretchen said. "You can't be something that you're not. If you try, you'll only end up miserable." She gave him a little smile. "For what it's worth, I'm proud of you."

"Thanks," said Jon. "At least someone in the family is proud. Mom and Dad are just going to have to get used to it. I'm moving out in a couple of days, so that I'm glad for."
