Dorcas was often made fun of growing up, so she’s built up a tough attitude over the years. She’s been sticking up for herself since she was younger, so she’s learned not to really let anything anyone says about her bother her. Despite this, she grew up loving most people and seems to always talk to someone, whether it be the student she was paired with to work with in class, or a professor while on their weekend trips to Hogsmeade. She loves getting to know people, and has enough sense to know when to walk away from someone.
Dorcas is very serious about school work. She envies some of her friends that don’t think it’s all that important, but when she was going to a muggle school her father told her how important studying and doing her best was, and since she admired her father so much, she took that advice to heart. That’s not to say she doesn’t have a playful side; she enjoys spending time with her friends and exploring the castle just like any other young girl with an adventurous side.

History:
Dorcas was born in Cork, Ireland to two half blood parents, their only child. She grew up loving the outdoors and spent most of her time outside of the house with other children from her neighborhood. It made her tanner than most, but she didn’t let it bother her. When she was four she moved to London after her father took a job at St. Mungo’s, so he didn’t have such a long commute to work, as he hated apparating. She began going by the nickname Dory when she was seven after an older boy who lived down the street teased her about her name. She went crying to her father, who calmed her down and told her she was named after her grandmother, and her grandmother wouldn’t want her getting so upset. Even though Dorcas never knew her, her father had been the one to say it so she knew it had to be true. She admired her father for what he did for a living (he was a Healer) and wanted to be just like him. Her mother stayed at home to raise Dorcas; she thought that having kids would be fulfilling later in life, but never understood why her mother chose to stay at home, inside most of the time. To young Dorcas, it just seemed boring. She would rather be out having adventures with her friends and getting dirty, not keeping a house clean.
It was a bittersweet moment the day Dorcas got her letter to Hogwarts. She knew she would have to leave her parents and her muggle friends behind, but she knew she would always make more friends while at Hogwarts. She told her friends she was leaving to go to a boarding school in Scotland, and didn’t see them for a year. By that time, they all had different friends they would rather hang out with, so Dorcas spent most of her time in the park by herself. She felt at home at Hogwarts, and missed it while with her parents. It also bothered her that she couldn’t practice magic outside of Hogwarts because she was underage. She spent a lot of time with her mom learning household spells, even though she couldn’t practice them.
She was sorted into Gryffindor but didn’t let her house stop her from making friends. Some friends were older than her, and she ended up befriending students that came after her. Nothing, Dorcas felt, would stop her from being friends with anyone unless they made fun of her name. Even though she pretended not to let those insults get to her, they still bothered her. There are some older students she wants to befriend, but she's worried about rejection, so she is hoping to join the Quidditch team in hopes that will make her more popular.
Anything else? You know, it was harder than I thought to write a bio for a canon character that very little is known about… Yeah, the history is bad, but when are mine ever good? Lol
