Character Name: Alana Kalb
Age: 30
Description or Celebrity Claim: Milla Jovovich
Profession: Auror
Strengths:
Optimistic
Friendly
Cooperative
Able to deliver bad news gently
Good reasoning skills
Weaknesses:
Sometimes jokes too much
Her partner
Judgmental (which may or may not come in handy with her job)
Easily discouraged
Stubborn
Personality:
Alana is the type of person no one took seriously in school. She was always making jokes of everything, even when the attacks were beginning. She knows how to brighten up anyone’s day and make light of almost every situation, which comes in handy. She is able to see the light at the end of the tunnel and will only give up hope if no new leads are found on a case she is working on. She knows that’ll happen from time to time, so she bounces right back when a new lead is discovered. She is also very stubborn and will not give up on a case unless she is forced to back down, had it not finished yet.
She does have a serious side, although it doesn’t come out too much. She knows when to act her age when she’s telling families about their loved one’s murder, and she knows how to put it as gently as possible. When she gets mad, she’ll slip in German words or phrases, and that’s when you know you need to get away from her…or give her some firewhisky. Either way, it’ll calm her down.
Even though she was a Ravenclaw while in school and therefore studious, she knows how to get out of the books and have fun, which she does whenever she gets the chance, often going to clubs whenever she has the time, even though now her life is being consumed by her work.
History:
Alana was born in London, England, to two magical German immigrants. Her parents left Germany to avoid the concentration camps and the rumors that Hitler was rounding up wizards to try to use them to his power. She grew up speaking both English and German and had a huge sense of pride in being German. Her father was an Auror, which gave Alana something to aspire to, while her mother worked at St. Mungo’s. Alana is an only child. Growing up, she spent a lot of time with her father, leaving her with his ability to make jokes of nearly anything. Her mother made sure that Alana knew what was happening to magical people in Germany, which gave Alana the need to help and save people, no matter if they were magical or not.
She had many friends growing up, but as they all went to different schools as they got older, Alana fell out of touch with many of them. Since they were all muggles, it made it very hard for Alana to keep in touch and tell them what was going on in her new school, so Alana stopped talking to them altogether. Alana received her Hogwarts letter, and her parents couldn’t have been more proud of her. She was sorted into Ravenclaw, despite being such a jokester. It was her dedication to work which put her there, and she didn’t disappoint. She became an excellent student, allowing her stubbornness to take over while she was studying. She only had a few friends in school, but she cherished them. Aside from studying almost all day, she made time to play mock Quidditch games to try to help her friends get better and maybe make the team, even though Alana never did.
After school was over, Alana applied for jobs within the Ministry of both England and Germany, and the option to be an Auror in Germany came up. Alana moved to Germany and began taking the correct steps to become an Auror. She passed the tests quickly. She grew fast as an Auror and was assigned to be a partner with a man who was different than her in almost every way, and though he gets on her nerves sometimes, she cares about him and doesn’t want to see anything happen to him. They are spending more time together, and she is getting closer to him than she would like to admit to herself.
