Zander smiled at the mention of Lucie's name. "Yeah, they were in love. It's just a shame that they had such a short time together. He was a good guy, and he wasn't just my brother, he was my best friend. Listen... if you're not finished school, do you want to try and go back? You can still hang here with us when you have free time, and I'll come and get you on the day of the full moon, so you can tranform safely. Some of the others like to go hunting..." He trailed off, not wanting to mention that he had yet to hunt himself. If he did, she'd know he couldn't have been the one to bite her.

He grinned. "Yeah, OK. Just let me know when you're ready, then, and I'll take you back to school. Then, when the next full moon comes around, I'll meet you at the school and bring you back here. And I'll show you how to get here, so you can come and go whenever you want." He frowned. "I don't really like hunting much... I feel... guilty..." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Do you remember anything about last night?"

"Yeah, you were bitten last night. I... I bit you." The lie felt wrong, he hated doing it, but he didn't like the alternative of telling her the truth and leaving her to Greyback. "We... uh... We did kill the foal together. It... it was my first kill, and you were the first I'd ever bitten. But I hated it, I don't like killing. I feel too guilty, and I hate what I've done to you."

Zander sighed. Now he understood why Greyback was "giving" this girl to him. She was already a better and more willing werewolf than he was, and while he was supposed to be "teaching" her, she would really be teaching him. "Greyback bit me. He didn't even want me, I just got in his way and stopped him from biting the twelve-year old boy that was his real target. And no, I'm not happy about being one. I never asked for this."

Zander scowled. "Yeah, I almost wish he would," he mumbled. "I hate this, all of it. I don't know if I'll ever get used to it. I didn't even want to join, but I had no place else to go." He looked at her seriously. "I'm glad you're OK with this. I guess it just takes some people longer than others. Who knows? Maybe I'll come around." But the truth was, he didn't want to come around. He didn't want to be a monster, he wanted to be a man.

Greyback looked down at his older pup and said " You were a tender lad, I wonder why Zander isn't more like you. He may not have been that golden haired boy of 12 i wanted, but he's still tender." Said Fenrir almost looking convincingly sad as he popped the candy out of his mouth and with his other free hand running his fingers through his older pup's hair.
"Why didn't you bond with him?" he as gripping his hair firmly but not enough to really hurt him.
"He smells so melancholy! I begin to want to cry every time I'm near him, he's like a cut onion!" he said pouting and letting out a small whine. Fenrir just popped the candy pop into his mouth and released him.
"I should of been harder on him, but I can't help to think he's too tender for it." he said seriously around the considerably smaller candy.

Zander stiffened. "I do not have a thing for Lucie," he said, hardening his voice. "She was my brother's girlfriend, and we're just friends." He stood up. "Look, I hear enough of this talk of why I should like killing from Greyback. I don't really need to hear it from you. I know full well what the others all say about me behind my back, but it's my problem to deal with." He sighed. "Do you want me to take you back to the school now, or do you want to get something to eat?" He was feeling tired and he really just wanted to rest.

He loosened up a little. "Yeah, I do like you," he said. "Although, you're already a better werewolf than I'll probably ever be." He sighed and ran a hand through his hair. "Come on, I'll take you somewhere to get some food. I need to get out of here."

"I don't know, I guess just the Three Broomsticks, if that's OK," he said. "Wait here a second. I need to go talk to Greyback. I'll be right back." He walked out of the room and went to find Greyback. He found him lounging on top of the coffin and talking to one of the others.

Fenrir saw Zander approach him and he spat out the lollipop stick and sat up, upsetting the pup on his chest.
"Ah, so tell me how it went." he said shooing away the older pup, he pouted but quickly left the area to poke around in another room. Fenri slid off the coffin and patted it. "So where are you going? you smell rather antzy" he said grinning.
