A furious Diana dragging him around was normally a sign that things were about to get interesting, but as Christian forcefully pulled himself free of her grip and listened to her words he knew this was not leading anywhere remotely exciting. He focused hard on the events of the night previous, trying to remember exactly what they had done.
They had waited until the original wedding had dissipated and pulled the Captain aside. They exchanged vows under the stars, waves breaking against the hull of the ship. Christian couldn't remember what they had said but he had a vague image of him and Diana dropping to their knees and clasping each other's hands. A red flame coiling around them as they spoke.
Christian stopped suddenly and stared at Diana, horror struck. His eyes were wide. "We made an unbreakable vow."

She whipped back to face him, fury deep in her eyes, "We f*cking bonded our lives together! I die, you die, you die, I die!" she yelled.
"Apparently last night we thought that we couldn't live without each other." she sneered.
She began pacing angrily. She couldn't believe that she was so stupid as to attach her life to this man.

"Like hell we can't! What the f*ck are we supposed to do now?" he snarled. His eyes followed Diana's angry pacing as Christian let loose a string of obscenities. He couldn't be bonded to Diana! The thought of marrying her had already been more than he could stand.
"F*ck," he yelled at the heavens as he stormed off back to their cabin. He threw the door open and marched to the closet. On the floor was his duffle bag, through which he was groping the inside of the pocket. He pulled out his mirror and tapped it four times with his wand. A man about Christian's age appeared, wearing a dressing gown and yawning.
"How do I break an Unbreakable Bond? A Life Bond?" Christian barked.
The man in the mirror looked confused. "A- a Life Bond?"
"Yes, a Life Bond. How is it broken?"
"They aren't legal anymore, you can't do-"
Christian interrupted him with an angry yell. "TELL ME HOW TO F*CKING UNDO IT OR SO HELP ME I WILL CUT DOWN YOUR ENTIRE FAMILY!"
"I don't know!" The man answered terrified. "I'll have to research it!"
"Find me the answer, Bennett."
Christian tapped the mirror with his wand so furiously that the glass cracked. Christian threw the mirror into the closet and screamed. He rounded on Diana. "This is all your f*cking fault! I wouldn't be here if it weren't for you, and now I'm bonded to a psychotic b*tch with a death wish!"

Diana was too angry to be insulted by his fury at their situation. Apparently beneath the extremely rough exteriors they loved each other very much. So much that the idea of living without the other was too painful to think about.
Diana was angry now, but it would be a lie to say she hadn't thought about Christian dying or herself for that matter. She had thought about it, and it terrified her. It made her physically sick. But she wasn't thinking about any of that now. She wasn't thinking about how deeply she loved him without the edge and grit she had acquired over the years, she wasn't thinking about the fact that she only felt alive when he held her.
They flew at one another with accusations and insults and lashed at each other in ways that would make any other couple's blood run cold. But this was different.
She followed him to the room watching as he talked to Bennett, already knowing they were f*cked.
When he rounded on her she didn't back down, she pushed closer to him and to the fire that was growing.
"My fault?! I would really love to see things from your point of view but I can't stick my head that far up my ass. You've done nothing but turn everything upside down since I met you! If you had just left me alone to begin with neither of us would be in this position! And I may be a psychotic b*tch but at least I'm not a vain despotic jackass!"

Christian cursed himself silently for not simply accepting the contract on Diana's life and getting it done with immediately. He had so many opportunities. It would have been so easy and he wouldn't be stuck on a cruise ship bonded to the woman he was supposed to murder.
"If you had wiped my memory like you continually threatened, none of this would have happened! But you couldn't pass up the opportunity to have me help you. You needed me!"

Her eyes narrowed, "I can do it now." she threatened with a certain level of malicious glee gripping her wand.
"I may be bonded to you but that doesn't mean I have to put up with you." she hissed. She turned away from him heading for the door. She couldn't be near him anymore.
Her emotions took a dangerous turn as the words he yelled at her started to sink in. He wasn't wrong, she did need him. She hated him, but she had needed him. She was so tired of being on her own of fighting by herself. Christian had seemed too good to be true, and as he spat venom at her she felt the other shoe drop.
She was mumbling angrily all the way to the door, but her last words were very clear, "Not like she's your daughter too or anything!" before the door slammed.
