Personality: Tamsyn is the kind of girl who gets into trouble, hoping someone will care enough to help her out of it. On the surface, she may appear happy enough to those who don't really know her. She puts on a good face, makes jokes, loves flirting with boys and dancing and generally having a good time. But these are just her attempts to distract herself from the darkness inside. Observant people can see the truth in the way she acts--she makes self-deprecating jokes, playing it off as humor when it is really low-self esteem. She wears too much makeup and not enough clothes, covering up her face and showing off her body in the hopes that it will make people notice her. She gets into a lot of unhealthy relationships, because she's desperate not to be alone, and when a relationship ends, she has trouble letting go. Yet when someone tries to help her, she often sees it as an attack and lashes out.
She's a worrier, and gets upset if she thinks someone doesn't like her. She can also be clumsy--not so much dropping dishes as crashing into things, tripping, and falling. Once she accidentally set her apartment on fire, she's broken both legs and one arm, and twists her ankle on an alarmingly regular basis. Sometimes she thinks she is cursed, and has been known to make jokes about this to others. She's also disorganized and messy, and seems to have no direction in her life.
In spite of all of these things, Tamsyn is a good person, and can be very likeable. She's very smart and insightful and is good at giving advice to others. If only she were as good at following her own advice....

History: Tamsyn was born on the British island of Cornwall to Alfred and Donna Daly. Alfred Daly was a pureblood wizard, Donna was a muggle. The two had loved each other from the time they were children, but Alfred never told Tamsyn that the "prestigious boarding school" he attended was actually a school for witchcraft and wizardry. They were married shortly after his graduation, and he went to work at the Ministry, telling her vaguely that he was working for "the government." But when Tamsyn was only 5 years old, Alfred went on an assignment out of town and never returned. To this day, Donna does not know what happened to her husband, but a representative from the Ministry told her that there had been "an incident" and that he was believed dead.
Growing up, people thought Tamsyn was a bit odd. The other kids picked on her and her mother, still heartbroken over the loss of her husband, was not supportive, so she developed very low self-esteem. Even Tamsyn believed that there was something wrong with her, because she could do things that just weren't possible. The worst was when she accidentally turned the class bully into a snail--the Ministry had to step in and fix that one.
When Tamsyn received her Hogwarts letter, things went from bad to worse. She wanted to go, more than anything, but her mother was shocked and horrified. She thought Tamsyn was possessed and locked her up in her room for weeks. It didn't seem like she would allow her daughter to attend, but finally Albus Dumbledore stepped in and convinced her somehow. But from that day, Donna had very little to do with her daughter.
Hogwarts was a paradise for Tamsyn, and she never wanted to leave. Sorted into Ravenclaw, she was a good student, always eager to please. She had only a few friends, but they were good and loyal. Finally she felt like she fit in.
After graduation, Tamsyn moved out of her mother's house and has not been back since. She took a job working at Galligan's and moved in with a friend. She's been there ever since.
Anything else? I felt the itch.
