Personality:
Like most of the sleeper children, Dustin almost has a split personality. Usually, he is boisterous, charming, flirty, and funny. He can be very lighthearted, and people find it easy to relax and open up around him. Sometimes, he uses this to his advantage. He can't even count the number of times someone has said to him "I probably shouldn't tell you this, but...." He's good at getting information that he needs for this reason.
But when he's been triggered, or he's in a funk, or he can just sense that something bad is about to happen (and he's good at that, too), he closes off almost completely. His mood can be dark and brooding, and he won't really talk to anyone. Not that he has many close friends, due to his mostly nomadic lifestyle. At least, until recently.

History:
The story of Robert and Rose was typical, really. Robert was a foreign poet, looking for inspiration in the green hills of a country he'd never been too. He found it, of course, in Rose. He was a dreamer, a romantic, and she brought the passion to the relationship. It didn't last more than a summer, but Robert left his black haired beauty something to remember him by- a child.
She never contacted Robert to tell him that she was pregnant, and when her very Catholic father threatened to disown her, Rose did the only thing a young girl could do. She put Dustin up for adoption.
He was adopted almost instantly by a sweet, older couple who were unable to have children, but they weren't quite ready for a child in their lives, no matter how badly they wanted one, and he was put back in the system, where he bounced in and out of foster homes. He was a good kid who got the short end of a bad stick.
Somehow, he found himself at the training facility with several other children, and he thrived and flourished. He took to the training like he really belonged there, and when the rebellion came, he stayed far away from it. Because of it aptitude, he was kept after most of the children were released.
Later, his memory wiped, he was released into a world he didn't quite fit into anymore. He never made it to magical school, but started picking up whatever work he could find at a young 15. His life, otherwise, was normal.
Until recently, when an experiment took place with him and the others who had been kept behind. He didn't recognize them until after he was triggered. Only one got away, Nikola. The rest were killed if they were lucky, or like him, they were captured and thrown in Azkaban. Now, he clings to whatever he can of his sanity, and he feels that slowly slipping through his fingers as well, even though he's only been there a couple of weeks... so far.
