Rochelle looked at him with curiosity as he knelt down. "Rochelle, will you marry me?" Marry? What was that? She grew quiet and looked back at him at his eyes. Obviously marry wouldn't be something bad, in fact, she heard her brother speak of it to Victoria before, and she could tell it didn't mean anything bad of just the look in his eyes. It was supposed to be the human way for joining together, if she remembered correctly. Plus, Sully wouldn't ever do anything to hurt her. A smile spread across her lips and nodded slowly. "Yes, I will," she said at last.

Sully smiled and stood up, putting his arms around her. "I know that marriage is just kind of a silly human ritual... it just means I want to spend my life with you. But I never got to marry Jessie, and I don't want to miss out this time. We can just do a small ceremony, just the two of us and a magical minister to perform the ceremony. We don't need the fancy dress or the flowers or any of that. Although, if you want it, maybe we can do it later, after we deal with the Gretchen situation."

"I don't really want anything fancy," said Rochelle. "I don't know anyone that really would come either. Just the small ceremony sounds nice, unless you want to do that other stuff. I'm happy with whatever you choose, because I don't know how to go about any of that, honestly." Rochelle gave him a smile. "Oh, and I forgot to tell you awhile back, you can call me Chell, or Shelly, if you like. Tis what my brother used to call me sometimes."

"No, I think the big fancy weddings are usually for the women. Jessie had a big wedding planned, with all the trimmings. I don't even think I'd want to do that now, after everything. The wedding isn't really the important part, it's what comes after... the spending our lives together part." He kissed her softly. "I'd love to call you Chell. I'd tell you to call me Matt, but, well... No one's ever called me Matt. I've been Sully for as long as I can remember."

Rochelle smiled. "Well, things can change," she said with a wink. "Come on. I think the waiter wants this table," she said with a whisper and taking his hand. She led them out the door and onto the streets. Rochelle glanced up at the stars, then looked over and smiled. "You know, I don't think I ever remember stars shining like this."

Sully slipped his arm around her waist and pulled her close to him. It did seem like there was magic in the air that night as he looked up at the stars. Everything seemed to shimmer, like in a dream. "I love you, Chell," he whispered, leaning his head on her shoulder.

Rochelle leaned her cheek on his head as he rested it on her shoulder. "I love you too Matt," she whispered. She wrapped her own arm around him as they walked. Rochelle couldn't account for any other time that she felt so happy.

Sully smiled. "I kinda like the sound of that," he whispered. He felt intoxicated, as if he'd had too much wine. But he hadn't had a glass. Instead he was caught up in her spell, and he loved the way it felt. He just couldn't decide whether he wanted to walk the streets with her, enjoying the cool night air, or if he wanted to go back to the hotel, where he could be alone with her. "I wish this night would never end," he sighed.

Rochelle sighed. "Neither do I. However, we can look at it this way, we will have many more nights like this, so no worries," she said with a smile. Now Rochelle understood why human girls would get excited over the little things with the guys that they were with. She didn't feel like she was different either, she just felt normal, or what in her opinion was normal.

Sully didn't add the words that were probably on both of their minds... I hope so. He felt like he couldn't bear to bring the night down with any negative thoughts. As they walked, they came to a small park centered around a large fountain. He led her over to the fountain and sat down along the edge. "You know, humans have some pretty silly traditions," he said. "One is that you can wish upon a star, the first star you see that night, and the wish will come true. Another one is that you can throw a coin into a fountain and make a wish. It's silly, but I feel like, if these things are ever going to work, it would be tonight."

She sat beside him on the edge of the fountain. "I used to wish upon the stars, but then I soon stopped since nothing ever happened," said Rochelle. "I never heard about throwing a coin into the fountain before. However, let's see if it works." She gave him a wink and pulled out a coin. She closed her eyes and then threw the coin over her shoulder into the fountain after she made her wish. Rochelle smiled. "You're turn."

"All right," Sully said with a grin. He pulled out a coin and silently wished that he would survive the situation with Gretchen so he could stay with Rochelle for a long time to come. Then he tossed the coin into the water and watched it sink to the bottom. Smiling at her, he said. "Well, it must have worked. You're still here."

"Of course," said Rochelle with a hint of laughter. "I'm not going anywhere for awhile." She smiled again. She thought about her wish. She wished that something would happen so that Gretchen wouldn't do anything to really hurt Sully badly. This was the first time that she felt happy, and not meaning to sound selfish, she didn't want anything to take him away from her.

Sully smiled and put his arm around her. "This nice, isn't it? Just a pretty little place in the middle of the city? Let's just sit here for a while and enjoy the night air."

Rochelle rested her head on his shoulder as she watched all kinds of people walk by. A few of them were hurrying along their way, others just taking their time. "Why is it sometimes, humans are always in a hurry to do things? They never seem to just take their time. It seems like its more worth it if you do take your time."

"People have lots of reasons for hurrying," Sully said. "Most humans go through life battling the clock. They think that they have to rush to get things done, and that they just don't have enough time. The thing is, time... it's really a human invention. Time passes, yes, but it's not as urgent as people think it is. The things they think they have to do... most of the time, these things aren't important. People need to set priorities and not worry so much about things that don't matter."

"If they take their time, and go at a pace that they can manage, then things would be better for them," said Rochelle. "Most humans just don't understand that they need to enjoy things." Rochelle sighed. "I guess that they're going to continue doing what they do, and there's nothing that can change their minds. I'm just glad that you don't rush everywhere."

"Yeah, there's really nothing you can do to make them slow down. It's their lives, they'll live it the way they want." Sully kissed her cheek. "I don't rush, because I've never had a reason to rush. Since I met you, alll I've wanted to do is just be with you and enjoy that feeling. Before that, though, my life was empty. I had no reason to rush, because I had nothing that mattered enough to rush for."

"Well, my people, I guess you would say, never have sensed a reason to rush," said Rochelle. "We've always just have taken things slow, except of course, we've had a few times where we've had to run and hide, but other than that, we've always took our time, and tried to enjoy want we could. You can never replace time you waste, so I've always looked at it as I don't want to miss anything, so I just take time to take everything in. There isn't any sense to rush."

Sully laughed. "I like your way better than mine," he said. "That kind of positive way of looking at things... it's the way I'd rather live, instead of the way I was. I think you've helped me to see that things can be different... life can be good." He leaned in and kissed her passionately.
