Voldemort apperated at the top of the craggy cliff face he remembered as a child. He turned turned toward Claudia, "Lovely view isn't it?" waving his hand before him showing it all before them, a dark cold sea thrashing against the rocks.

Claudia looked down at the ocean swirling and pounding below her and shivered slightly. One wrong step and she'd wind up smashed against the rocks or trapped in the churning waves. "It's... dramatic," she replied crisply.

"You've seen nothing yet." he said grabbing her suddenly and apperated down to a narrow strip of land that was being sprayed with ocean spray. He smiled at her and said "Well have to go in to reach the inferni, of course they are dead, so spliching isn't a worry." he grinned.

Claudia shivered again. It would be so easy for him to just give her a push, and she'd be dead. "Where you lead, I will follow, my lord," she said loyally, but not without a slight tremor. She wondered why her lord would want to have the Inferi to guard what was already such a remote and treacherous location.

"Good." he said taking her hand he stepped into the water, it must be cold to a woman with powers unlike his own. Not that it hurried his pace in the water, taking her with him into his cave. he climbed the rough honed steps. "This place is merely a vessel, it's empty now. he said pulling his follower out of the cold water.

Claudia managed to keep from shivering as she walked through the frigid water behind him. The cave was dank and dark and filled with the harsh scents of salt water and wet rock. "My lord, if I may ask, what is it a vessel for?" she asked.

Voldemort turned toward Claudia and took her hand to a rough honed wall. "it's for a part of me most precious, to keep me alive and well for eternity." he said placing her hand on the wall, and with his wand, cutting it so the blood poured over the stone. He healed her wound as quickly as it was made, then drying her for good measure, "The loyal get comforted." he said as a doorway appeared.

Claudia barely had a chance to react to the pain before her wound was healed again. Once again, she felt a fierce admiration and loyalty to her master. "Thank you, my lord," she said gratefully. She looked into the door that had opened with wonder. The Dark Lord had said that this was for a piece of him, which would allow him to live forever. Now she knew what he was referring to. The Dark Lord had made a Horcrux. She had only briefly read about horcruxes. She knew that they were a very advanced, very dark magic. Very few wizards had attempted them. But of course, her lord was no ordinary wizard. Of course he would have a horcrux. She smiled. "I am in awe of your power and greatness, my Lord," she said.

He smiled, such a bright girl he had. he led her into the cavern. it was dark, so he lit his wand brightly into the air, showing the mass of bodies, just under the waters' surface. sightless eyes and tongues unmoving, expect for the gentle sway of the water moving them to and fro, a mockery of the life they once possessed. Motioning toward the center of the cavern, was the pedestal, empty for now, no glow of magic or potion or even a lumos, in what was a pitch cavern. "You see now the need for such protection? Why I sent very other able bodied death eater to search? Your role was indispensable." He knew she had to make her feel validated, Now with that out of the way "Now I need you, bright and cunning, to find it for me, you know what I speak of, You know the gravity of what would happen...should it fall into the wrong hands..." he said it in such a way, one might of be taken aback, a mockery of tenderness, it was gleefully that he watched her ardent adoration.

Claudia nodded. "Of course, my lord," she said quickly, feeling a bit flustered. "So this is the reason you seek the locket so desperately? I will search for it until it is found, so that no one unworthy shall dare touch it. Who would have dared to steal something so precious from you, my Lord?"

Voldemort brought his hands together, the tips of his fingers in contact he said in a measured tone "She has been dispatched by Greta, and her bumbling accomplice of Erasmus." just as he said his name, without so much as a ripple, his body glided toward the surface of the water.

"I would expect nothing less, my lord," Claudia replied. She smirked as Erasmus's corpse fluttered just beneath the surface. "Anyone who dares to oppose you must surely be punished." She looked out at the vast underground lake, so filled with the bodies of his Inferi.

"Do you see now, you've helped make this place the perfect holding place for my treasured family heirloom." he took her face in his hands "Don't ever doubt your place by my side, for it's only at my side that you can accomplish so much and more." he said to her in what would be tenderly. He took her back out the door from where they came. He intended on taking her back home with him now.

Claudia was extremely pleased. "Thank you, My Lord. You honor me greatly." she said, bowing slightly. She followed him closely as they left the cave. She couldn't say that she was sorry to be leaving it.

Voldemort led her back out of the cave, and the apperated from the rocks and churning sea, back to the mansion.
