Personality: (at least 4 sentences) George is, to put it plainly in muggle terms, a nerd. But he's a likable, adorable nerd who can actually be quite a lot of fun to hang around. He loves books and plants and potions and is always coming up with new ideas for potions or taking care of plants. He's utterly useless at most types of magic, however. Cleaning spells, cooking spells, and pretty much every useful type of spell that can be done with a wand is lost on him. If he were ever to find himself in danger, he'd curl up in a ball like a possum playing dead.
He can be bluntly honest when talking to people, so it might be necessary to have a thick skin. But he honestly means no insult to anyone and in fact is not usually aware of having insulted anyone. He calls things as he sees them, and in all fairness, he is equally blunt about his own faults and foibles.
He loves to experience new things, and finds the muggle world "charming and adorable." He is particularly fascinated with muggle motion pictures, although he has seen only one of them. The only movie he has seen is Casablanca, but he has seen it 12 times. (He thinks it's the only movie there is, and if someone were to ask if he wants to go see a movie, he would expect to see Casablanca.)
Making friends isn't easy for him, however. He spends much of his time in his lab making potions, in the garden tending plants, or working in the apothecary shop, so he doesn't have a lot of leisure time. As a result, he can be a bit socially awkward and sometimes blurts out things which are not really acceptable in polite conversation. With girls, he is utterly tongue-tied, unless he has a reason to talk to them (if, for example, a woman is making a purchase in the shop). He can talk business, but making friendly conversation with a girl is not really possible for him. he gets too nervous and his hands start to sweat.

History:George was born into a family of scientists and alchemists. His mother was a muggleborn whose parents were botanists, so she went into Herbology after Hogwarts. His father was a pureblood, dating back only a few generations, and his field of study was alchemy. He was always doing experiments and testing new potions and formulas. Unfortunately, it was this tendency which resulted in an explosion that killed both him and his wife. Young George, then just 3 years old, was playing at a neighbor's house and therefore unharmed.
He was then sent to live with his only living relative, his eccentric uncle Herbert, who was a potions master and apothecary. Naturally, he taught his young nephew all about potions, so that by the time he started Hogwarts, he was already an expert potions maker. He also excelled in Herbology, thanks to the innate talents inherited from his mother. But he showed little talent for anything else. His Charms were barely adequate, and he was absolutely miserable at Transfiguration and Defense. To him it was all a bunch of foolish wand-waving. He didn't have a lot of friends at Hogwarts; most students found him odd, but he did have a few loyal friends (most of whom were almost as nerdy as he was).
After graduation, George began working at his uncle's apothecary shop in Hogsmeade, where he also maintains a sizable garden and a small greenhouse to grow both magical and mundane plants for use in potions.
