Pavel groaned as the morning light hit his face through the dirt stained window of the warehouse office. He was lying on the floor of the office, the empty bottle of bourbin rolled across the room to the door.
For a while, Pavel couldn't remember where he was until he saw the ropes and knocked over chair in the corner of the room. Oh right Danica.
He sat up and immediatly felt a little dizzy. He was too hung over, which only meant that it would be easier to tick him off. An easy task for his daughter.
Pavel looked around the room. Where had he put her? He vaguely remembered untieing her. She had run off and he chased her down and then...
He couldn't remember where he put her after that.

Dani had fallen asleep with tears in her eyes. Where he'd thrown her, it was dark, and cold, and cramped. She could feel the walls on all sides of her, and she couldn't even remember where she lost her cloak, or if it had been taken off here.
So it wasn't the sunlight that woke her up, because there wasn't any. It was just time to wake up according to her body, and she took a deep breath, her eyes opening. She was met with darkness, of course, but the first thing she noticed was that it wasn't cold anymore. In fact, she felt quite warm.
It took a couple minutes for her to remember everything, and she sat up straighter, hitting her small fists on the door. "Hey!"

He heard a banging sound outside of the office and he remembered last night, how Danica tried to run away, how he'd thrown her in the cabinet and then forgot about her. Now, the constant banging was making his head throb. He groggily rolled over and got up, kicking the bottle as he left the office and reached the cabinet he put his daughter in. He moved the block of wood that was keeping it locked and opened the door.
He didn't say anything just loomed over her, glaring. She was beginning to show that she was a lot more trouble than what he wanted to deal with. Why did he and Auriela even bother HAVING children? They were just trouble.

As soon as the door opened, Dani's eyes squinted because of the light, but she stopped calling out, and she stopped trying to hit whatever would make noise. Her voice had given out the night before because of the screaming, which Pavel would probably appreciate. Dani, however, refused to believe that no one would come help her if she made enough noise.
He was blocking her exit, and she looked up at him, her eyes red. The look on her face, masking the fear she was definitely feeling, seemed to say, 'What now?'

"What are you looking at?" Pavel grumbled looking down at the pathetic little thing he called his daughter. He glared at her and reached down, grabbing her arm and lifting her up with ease. Then he dragged her up the stairs to the office and threw her in the general direction of the chair, becomming more preoccupied with finding the rope Trevor had used to tie her up yesterday. "Don't think of running again," Pavel said, his voice harsh as he grabbed the rope and pushed her in the chair. "Like I told you, there's no civilization for miles, you'd never make it." He grinned at this, enjoying the idea that she was trapped with him, whether she liked it or not. He tied her wrists behind her, around the back of the chair. Once he was sure she was secure, he stood up an dwalked over to the desk that was covered with pizza boxes, styrofoam cups, and messes of papers that were left behind. He knew there was no way Auriela would automatically think it was him that kidnapped Danica. He planned on writing a ransom note, letting her know there was really only one way to be sure Danica would stay safe.
And that was if Aurelia came back to him.

Though quiet, Dani hadn't given in. No, she was too much her mother's daughter, and sometimes, too much Pavel's daughter to give into anything easily.
As soon as he grabbed her, Dani fought. It was weaker, but not half hearted. She was just tired and nowhere near strong enough to fight him off.
By the time she was tied to the chair again, she actually felt even more exhausted, but decided not to show this, instead muttering, "This is stupid. I want to go home."
What was the point? He wasn't doing anything. Were they just supposed to sit here and stare at each other? But at the same time, it was better than him hurting her, which she was well aware he could do. And for all the bravado she put forward, she was terrified that she was never going to get to go home.

He didn't really know what to do. Pavel wasn't exactly the type of guy to plan things out all the way. His plan was to kidnap Danica, then have Aurielia come crawling back to him.
All the inbetween stuff he hadn't really come up with yet.
He didn't really want her staring at him the whole time. For a moment, he considered kicking her chair over, just for the hell of it. But he decided that he'd save his frusteration for later.
"Do you think I care what you want?" Pavel asked angrily. Then he smiled at her, his teeth bearing. "We'll all go home, the three of us, once I have your mother back with me where she belongs." He said.

His smile terrified her. He always smiled that smile at her just before he did something that usually made her cry.
She wasn't scared of dying. She didn't thing, even for a second, that Pavel would kill her. He couldn't. She would... she would just make sure he couldn't.
But that meant there was so many things he COULD do to her that she couldn't even imagine, and she didn't know what to think.
"Mum's not ever coming back to you," She finally said. "She and Henri will come save me, and we'll get away from you."

He was about to brush her off, ignore the little brat and her talking. He didn't really care what she had to say after all.
Until she said something that made him sit up straight. Henri. Hadn't he and his father gotten rid of that discrepency? She was with HIM!
Angrier than ever, Pavel walked across the room and picked Danica up by the shirt collar. He kept walking, Danica and chair together and slammed her into the wall. He heard the wood of the chair splintering and breaking as he held her at his eye level.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY!" he yelled, pusshing her harder against the wall. A picture, painting whatever would have been in a frame...dropped to the ground and the glass shattered. "WHO is going to Save you?"

Danny screamed, then kind of gasped when everything went dark all of a sudden.
It only last for a second, but that usually happened right before she would black out completely and have what her mum called a seizure. It was just the force of hitting the wall and the wood of the chair breaking behind her that her petite little body almost couldn't handle.
When she could breathe again, she shook her head, making herself dizzy. "No... no one," she stammered, absolutely terrified out of her wits. "No one's going to save me."

She had gone limp for a moment, and, rather than being concerned if she was okay, he was more upset that he wouldn't get his answer right away. But she quickly came to and was denying what she had originally said.
But Pavel wouldn't hear it. "No, you said Henri!" He shook her again. "Henri who? Tell me!"

"I don't know!" Dani answered quickly, wishing she had her hands free to grab onto him or something. "I don't know who. He works at school." She had no idea what Henri's last name was, so she wasn't lying with this answer. And of course, she didn't know the whole story, and the select details Aurelia had finally told her did not include Pavel.
"I can't breathe," she told Pavel, hoping he'd put her down. Clearly, mentioned her mum with anyone else was a mistake she would not make again.

Frusterated, Pavel let go, dropping his hands, Danica, and the broken, splintering chair to the ground. He walked away and began to pace. Of course it was THAT Henri, the one he was SURE had been taken care of. How could this have happened? They were back together? They must have been, or else Danica wouldn't have said Mom AND Henri.
This changed everything. If Henri's memory came back, he'd know it was Pavel and his father that kept him away from Aurielia. He'd want revenge, and he was a wizard. Something that Pavel had to admit to himself, that he was defenceless against.
He needed Trevor to get here. They had to discuss how to take care of Henri for good this time.

As if on cue, there was a loud popping sound, and Trevor appeared, carrying a box of donuts, two coffees, and a cup of juice for the girl. Unlike Pavel, Trevor didn't believe that being cruel to the girl was the way to go in this situation. Trevor, after all, was a conman, and so he had learned how to get people to do what he wanted by being nice to them--whether or not he actually gave a hippogriff's rump about them.
"Well, I see things are going well," he said in a sarcastic tone. "You know, you're not going to get your wife back if you torture your kid. Here. I brought you some breakfast and coffee. And juice for the kid."

((I forgot I was Pavel for a moment, lol))
It was then that Pavel realized that he may have over-reacted just a little. Danica didn't know who Henri was in relation to her parents. She didn't understand how threatened Pavel was by this man.
Whatever.
"Thanks," Pavel grumbled, taking the coffee from Trevor. His head was throbbing, both from his anger and his hangover. He sipped the coffee hoping it would help.
He walked over to where Danica lied on the floor and untied her. "Hey," he nudged her, his voice still gruff but not as angry as before. "Cummon get up," he said. His Czec (sp?) accent wasn't as thick as it had been either. "Trevor brought you breakfast, get up."
He turned back to Trevor. "We had a dissagreement," He jerked his head, feeling like he should explain why his daughter was lying on the floor in a splintering mess that used to be a chair.

Danica had stayed where she was, terrified of provoking Pavel again. She didn't know what she said to make him so angry with her, but she was shaking slightly and just wanted to disappear so that he couldn't get mad at her again.
And she felt hot, too. All in all, it was clearly not shaping up to be a good morning. She thought Aurelia would have found her by now, and she didn't quite now how to deal with the fact that Aurelia had not found her. Was she on her own for this one? Because she was scared and hurt and she didn't know what to do.
She flinched when he came back to pick her up, but didn't move as he untied her hands. Even when he motioned her over, she still didn't move, but stayed perfectly still on her feet, her eyes watching the two men closely.

Trevor rolled his eyes. Great, now the kid knew his name. So much for anonymity. He knew he should have used an alias for this stupid job.
"Look, whatever happened isn't my problem," he said, waving his hand dismissively. "You need to get working on that ransom note if you expect to get your wife back. You don't have time to be fighting with the kid. But there's no reason why we can't all be comfortable."
He took out his wand and pointed it at the shattered chair. "Reparo." He also added an extra charm, using a silent incantation, that would keep whoever sat on the chair from getting up unless the counter spell was used. "Now, sit, kid. Have a donut."

"I'm not hungry," Danica muttered, staying where she was. No, she wasn't going to sit down in their company and just have juice and donoughts. What was going on?
She must have been having a nightmare, right? None of this seemed real. She did know, looking between the two of them, that she liked Trevor a lot more than she liked Pavel, not that she was going to cozy up to either one of them. But Trevor seemed like the one that would let her be more often than not.
She glanced down the long, empty room, eyeing the door again, but she didn't even try. Not with two of them there, one who was clearly a wizard at that, the way he fixed the chair.

Trevor shrugged. "Suit yourself, kid."
That was pretty much all the interaction he intended to have with the girl. She was just a means to an end. For Pavel, she was a way to get his wife back, and for Trevor, she was the first step to getting a fat paycheck from Pavel's father. Once Pavel had his family back, the old man would pay Trevor. He didn't really need to get involved more than that.
He sat down and took a donut from the box. "So listen," he said, turning to Pavel while he took a bite of his donut. "I did a routine news sweep of the wizarding wireless and the muggle news. So far, they seem pretty convinced whoever took the kid was a wizard, because they haven't posted anything to the muggle news. I don't think that will last.... the MLE officer involved is pretty thorough."

Pavel sat for a moment, considering everything Trevor was telling him. "It won't last," he agreed quietly.
"Aurielia will know it was me, in a heart beat, and she won't be afraid to tell whoever needs to know to start looking for me." He looked at Trevor's wand warrily. "Those things don't track people, do they?" He wondered aloud.
And if Danica was talking about the same Henri he was thinking about, she was bound to figure out that he and his father plotted to get rid of Henri and his family. "We should have just killed him," Pavel mumbled to himself.
She would want to bring Henri when she rescued Danica. She'd want to bring the whole damn army, or whatever Wizards had...broomsticks? He sat at the desk and, with pen and paper, he began with the note.
I have our daughter come back home, and she won't be in any harm bring anybody with you, Aurielia and I'll kill her don't doubt what I can do
