Personality (At least 4 sentences, but longer is preferred): Celeste is the type of person who puts on an act for the person she is with. With men, she generally puts on a dim-witted "Marilyn Monroe" act, and in fact has been known to quote Ms. Monroe on occasion. Her motto is from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes (although she is still somewhat outraged that redheads were left out of the mix): "I can be smart when it's important, but most men don't like it."
But the truth is, she actually is a lot smarter than she gives herself credit for, and this comes out when she is with people that she's not trying to impress, namely, women. Then she reveals herself to be cunning and manipulative.
History (At least 4 sentences): Celeste was born Nancy Malone in a small town near Dublin. Her family was one of the oldest pureblood families and had once been very rich, but had fallen on hard times. Decades of gambling and wasteful spending (a family trait, unfortunately) had drained the remaining Malones out of most of their fortune and all of their prestige. Celeste's father was the last of his line, both of his brothers having died in foolish duels without having children. Nancy was, of course, supposed to be a boy that would carry on what was left of the family's reputation. But she was a girl, and, despite years of trying, she would also be their only child.
She was raised with the idea that her one great contribution in life was to make a good marriage and unite the dying Malone family with another great family. But she rebelled against this and ruined her prospects of a good marriage at age 16 by getting caught in a compromising situation with a local muggle boy. Her parents cast her out in shame after that, and she went to America for a couple of years (where she developed her Marilyn Monroe obsession). Upon hearing of her parents' deaths, Celeste (as she now called herself) returned to England to reclaim her family's decaying estate. She was preparing to sell it when she met Blake Malfoy, and he offered to pay to have it fixed up for her and he would allow her to live there as his mistress and would pay her a generous sum each month.
