During his time at Durmstrang he met a man by the name of Leland Troy he whispered to him in dark corners of the school about the Dark Lord and his cause, after graduating he spent time roving around Russia and the former soviet states selling off his skills to whoever could pay. In those few years he managed to acquire a good amount of personal wealth and then he decided it was time to finally come out to England and attempt to find his way into the Dark Lord's service.
