Kyle was sure he'd found her this time. The creepy little child vampire who had once seemed so innocent and helpless, had been on a rather vicious killing spree. He knew it was her because of eyewitness accounts who reported seeing a little girl near the scenes of several attacks.
It had taken him quite a while to track her down. Although he knew she was using Highgate Cemetary as a base, he never seemed to find her there. But tonight he'd finally had a stroke of luck. Unfortunately, her latest victim was not so lucky. But after finding the fresh kill, he was able to track her back to the cemetary. He had her trapped now.

Delila knew he was following her. She could smell his blood and hear the beating of his heart as he came closer. This time, she was excited about facing him. She had learned so much from Amanda, and she was sure she was strong enough to defeat him. It would be a sweet victory, after he had failed to help her that first day. If she hadn't been so confused at the time, she could have killed him right then and there. He was so stupid and trusting.
She was hiding behind one of the crypts, watching as he entered the cemetary. She couldn't help but let out a girlish giggle at the way he walked, as if the sound of his footsteps would be what would give him away. The fool. She could smell him coming a mile away.

Amanda had grown very fond of her newest toy, much to the dismay of her lover Brian, who thought Delila was a twit. Amanda, however, found her eager to learn and an even better way to f*ck with stupid humans who thought a small girl would be nothing but sweet. They worked as a team, most nights, luring in groups and feeding till they were full. It was a lovely pairing.
At the moment Delila was playing cat and mouse with her obsession, and consequentially he was doing the same thing. Amanda watched from a distance, skipping across headstones and making noises all around the Slayer in every direction. She laughed and leaped to another tombstone, then did a cartwheel onto a large crypt in the opposite of where Delila awaited her prey. Amanda loved having visitors.

He heard the giggle first and he turned in the direction of the sound.
"I know you're here," he said. "Just come out and it will be a lot easier on the both of us."
Of course, even he knew better than to expect her to fall for a line like that. It wasn't like he was giving her an incentive to come out. This would be a fight to the death, and, like it or not, one of them would not walk away from this.
He started to move toward the giggle, but was distracted by another sound. He looked up and saw a figure jumping over the tops of the tombstones, then duck behind a crypt. But it was on the other side from where the giggle had come from. He hesitated.

She laughed at the Slayer as he called out to Delila, trying to lure her out in the open. If her little protege fell for that line, then she deserved to be killed. Noticing his hesitance, Amanda popped up on the top of the crypt, and perched there for a bit, watching Kyle. "Lost?" she asked, in a sweetly sarcastic manner. He seemed to not know which way to go, her bouncing about had confused him.

Kyle saw the movement out of the corner of his eye and turned, shining the light from his wand in her direction. This was something he hadn't anticipated, but he should have. The girl had a mentor. He was now conflicted again, because although he'd just come here for the girl, he couldn't in good conscience leave the woman alive. She was just as dangerous, if not more, than the girl. Furthermore, knowing that there were two of them meant that he was outnumbered. Even if he got one of them, it was likely that the other would retaliate in anger.
This was the danger in working alone. He wished he had called one of the other slayers he knew worked in the area.
"Look, I just want the girl," he said.

Amanda laughed loudly and moved closer, opening her arms wide as if welcoming him. A large smile spread across her pale face. "You've come into my home to play a game with my toy. And you expect to leave me out?" She was lightning fast as she approached him and wrapped her arms around his body, pinning his arms to his sides just long enough to whisper "you're it," in his ear. Then she was gone, to the other end of the cemetery where she was cartwheeling across the headstones.

Kyle's breathing was shallow as the vampire released him and bounced away. He never liked to take on more than one vampire at the same time... too much could happen. It was never a good idea to allow oneself to be outnumbered by vampires, because they had such quick instincts. You could be busy fighting one of them and the other could be right up behind you before you even knew it.
On the other hand, he couldn't allow himself to walk out of the cemetary without fighting the girl. And really, he couldn't allow the woman to get away, either. He was torn, and he stood there, momentarily dazed.

Delila, meanwhile, was highly annoyed. She thought of Kyle as her personal plaything, and she didn't really want to share her toys with Amanda. She wanted to be the one to torment and tease him and make him all confused. It was so easy and fun!
Peeking her head out from behind the crypt, she saw him standing there, poised with a stake in his hand, yet looking decidedly confused. Humans were so stupid.
While he was apparently undergoing an internal struggle, Delila smiled to herself and crept out from behind the crypt, approaching him.

Amanda could sense Delila's movement and she paused mid-cartwheel to watch the Slayer. Did he know that Delila approached him? Could he tell his life would soon be over? Amanda grinned, then tumbled out of sight behind an ominously large marble angel.

Kyle was still weighing his options and trying to decide if he could send for another slayer. Gregory was usually in the area around this time of night, and Bridget lived in Hogsmeade as well. Perhaps one--or both--of them would be able to come to his aid.
But before he could do anything, he felt the hair stand up on the back of his neck. He didn't have to look to know that Delila was behind him. He could sense her.
Inhaling deeply, he spun around, holding his stake out in front of him. Sure enough, she was there, less than an arm's length away from him. He reached out to grab her outstretched wrist. Maybe he could finish this quickly and move on to the other one.

Delila dodged his grasp, laughing coldly. "Oh, no," she said. "You won't get me that easily. You could have killed me once, when we first met. Remember? I didn't know what I was yet. I didn't know how to use my powers. You could have killed me then. But it's too late now. Now it's my turn."
Using a move that Amanda had taught her, Delila swung out with her arm, knocking the stake from his grasp. It clattered to the ground and rolled a few feet away.
"Now, now," she teased. "Play nice. No sharp weapons."

Kyle had regretted not killing Delila ever since that night. Since then, she had killed close to a dozen people, if witness reports were to be believed. Those deaths, they were all on his head. They were all his fault. How had he ever allowed himself to believe that he could have helped her? That first night, she had seemed so fragile, so helpless, and he had been taken in by that. Had it been an act? She was a vampire; she was not helpless.
She was too close, and he was defenseless without his stake. Sure, he had his wand, but there was only so much he could do with that to fight her. The killing curse did not work on vampires, because they were already dead.
He began to edge backwards, moving towards his stake. "You have sharp teeth, it's only fair that I get a weapon, too," he replied.

Delila laughed again. "Who said anything about fair?" she replied. That was the trouble with humans; they always thought everything was supposed to be fair and good. Especially this one. He was too nice, too good. He cared too much, and it was going to be the death of him. Literally.
Lunging forward again, she grabbed his arm and twisted it around his back, spinning him around. He must have weighed 3 times more than she did, but being a vampire had its advantages. Anyone looking at that moment would have seen quite an odd sight.

Vampires were strong, no matter what their size. Delila may have looked like a tiny 13 year old girl, but she was just as strong as any other vampire. Luckily for Kyle, however, he was trained for such situations, and he was certainly no weakling himself. He kicked backwards with one leg, causing her to release her grasp on him. As he knocked her backwards, he was thrown forward and down to the ground. He rolled until he reached the stake, picking it up and getting to his feet.

Delila let out a furious shriek as he knocked her backward, causing her to hit the ground, hard. It hurt her tailbone, and even if she was a vampire, it didn't mean that she didn't feel pain.
"That was very rude!" she shouted petulantly.
She was still sitting on the cold hard ground when he got his stake back. Delila was furious, and she let out another cry. "I told you you couldn't have that!" she yelled, launching herself at him.

But he was also running toward her, with his stake pointing towards her. He was ready to end this, once and for all. She make have looked and sounded and acted like a 13 year old girl, but the girl she had once been was no more. Now she was a monster.
They collided halfway, both with a fair amount of power behind them. The stake went into her heart.

It was all over in seconds. Delila never felt any pain, but she knew the instant that the stake entered her heart that it was all over. She had gotten careless, and she let the stupid human have the advantage. She had failed Amanda.
A look of shock and horror appeared on her face, just before she vaporized into a pile of dust at Kyle's feet.

Amanda moved quickly as the Slayer overpowered Delila but she was too late. She arrived only an instant after the stake was plunged into the child vampire's chest and was able to witness her demise up close and personal. "Bastard!" she screamed at him as the back of her hand swept forward towards Kyle's face. The fact that Delila was dust did not particularly anger her, it was more the fact that she had been taken from her. Amanda didn't share her toys.

Kyle was momentarily stunned, staring at the pile of dust where the child vampire had been standing only moments before. He was breathing heavily, and for a moment, his senses were dulled so much that he didn’t notice that the other vampire had come up close enough to him to touch him. This could have been a fatal mistake, however, all she did was slap him.
Still, the blow was sharp and unexpected, and he reeled backwards, a small trickle of blood running from his mouth.
Was he ready to fight the adult vampire? She was older, stronger, more experienced. And Kyle had really gotten lucky in his fight with Delila. Amanda might prove to be too much for him.
But he couldn’t exactly let her go, either. She was dangerous.
He shook off the slap and held his stake at the ready.
