She was always beautiful when she was with him, anyway.
"You're quite the looker yourself, you know," she murmured, closing her eyes and letting out a very content sigh. When his hands began to wander, her body seemed to relax into his touch. She pressed into him, wanting him just as much as he wanted her.
"Roland," she whispered his name. "I want you so badly," she told him, not at all embarrassed to say it.

"Thank you," he said. Or at least that's what he thought he said. It came out as a throaty whisper that was difficult to understand. His hands were moving as if they had a mind of their own, and his lips had made their way down to her collarbone.
He forced himself to pull away, though his hands kept moving. "Do you want to move back to the bedroom, or should we stay here?" he asked. It took a lot of effort to concentrate enough to ask her, and he knew it wouldn't be long before he wouldn't be able to move.

Riley was already to the point where coherency had left her, and she let out a frustrated moan when he pulled away. It wasn't fair that he could make her so wanton for him, though she didn't realize she did the same to him.
"We can stay here," she replied, and sobered up for a minute. "Right?" Sometimes, her naivety shone through in moments like this, but she was more willing to show this to Roland. She was safe with him, and she knew it.
She paused, then pressed forward, the water sloshing softly around them. Her hands came to his neck, her fingers threading in the hair at the base of his neck as she kissed him, pushing all of her thoughts away.

"Yeah, we can stay," he murmured, barely able to speak. He was just as desperate for her as she was for him, and he didn't really want to get up, but his only concern was for her comfort. He needed to make sure that she was OK with what they were doing.
Her kiss unhinged him, and soon he wasn't able to think about anything at all. He pulled her closer against him, running his hands along the wet skin along her back.
It was over pretty quickly, and he was holding her close to him. The water seemed colder now, and he wanted to wrap the two of them up in a towel, but for now, he just wanted to hold her.
"This totally defeated the purpose of the bath," he said teasingly, kissing her temple.

Riley just remained quiet, relishing the moments after- those moments that seemed to suspend themselves in time. She was whole, complete, and so utterly in love in these moments. Though, granted, she was in love all the time anymore.
At his teasing, she smiled. "Is it any wonder we got pregnant?" she asked, teasing him in return. She kissed him languidly, letting her body settle back into the water. Unlike Roland, she thought it was wonderfully warm.
Would they always be like this? She hoped their fire never lost its intensity or ferocity. Every time she looked at him, she felt something down to her core in the way that she loved him, and she couldn't imagine ever losing it. "I love you," she told him again, unable to keep from kissing him one more time. "Thank you for this."

He chuckled lightly. "Yeah... it really was bound to happen sooner or later. Even if we'd been careful all along, we would have slipped up eventually. It's really almost impossible for me to keep my hands off of you. I love you so much. I love seeing the look in your eyes when you tell me you love me, too.... It feels like an earthquake inside of me. And sometimes... there just aren't enough words to tell you how I feel."
He also hoped they'd never lose the urgency and passion that was between them. Yes, eventually things would settle down somewhat, and they'd have a baby to take care of, but he couldn't imagine that there wouldn't be a time when he would ache for her touch.

"I know," Riley said, a teasing look in her eye. "It's hard for most people to keep their hands off of me. I'm hot stuff." She smiled and kissed him again, letting him know she was just joking.
"Sometimes, the way you look at me just takes my breath away, and it's all I can do just to stay on my feet."

Roland's lips twisted into an exaggerated frown. He knew she was joking, but there was still that jealous flare inside of him. It eased up as she kissed him, but he still had to comment. "Well, they're just going to have to keep their distance, because I'm afraid I'm really not willing to share you."
Then his expression changed, softening into a mixture of warmth, affection and desire, with a dark intensity in his eyes. "You know I'll be there to catch you if you lose your balance," he said, leaning in to kiss her.

Riley's smile faded as Roland whispered this. He almost hit her fears dead on with that assurance. They called it falling for a reason, and maybe she was just always scared that no one would be there to catch her. And without ever wording this fear, Roland promised her that he would catch her.
"I don't deserve you," she told him, her voice soft and residing in her throat. He was doing it again, taking her breath away, and it was so beautifully overwhelming that she didn't know how to react.

Roland shook his head and placed his hands on either side of her face. "Don't say that," he said. "I think you deserve everything. I'd give you the moon if I could. I'm the one who's not worthy. I swear one of these days, you're going to wake up and look at me and realize that I'm just an arrogant prat and wondering what the hell you're doing with me."
If her greatest fear was that he would abandon her when she needed him most, his greatest fear was that she would remember all the things she'd hated about him in the beginning and decide that he just wasn't worth the trouble. He'd hardly started out as Prince Charming, and even though he no longer found himself acting like a complete arse around her, he would hardly have blamed her if she had been unable to get past his behavior. He was just incredibly happy that she had.

"Roland, I thought you would have figured out by now that I'm in this for the long haul. I,ve tried to push you away and find any reason to try and protect myself... And no matter what, I alwayss find more reasons to stay, more reasons why I love you, and more reasons why I want to wake up next to you everyday. You... You've made me believe that maybe love us possible, even for me. I'm not going anywhere."
She remembered all of the warnings she gave him about the fact she would push him away. For a while, she had, but now, she couldn't imagine anything but desperately trying to get closer to him.

"What? I'm not allowed to be insecure about something?" he teased, kissing her nose.
He knew she loved him, and yet every time she told him so, it still amazed him. It was odd how he could be so confident in everything else, but he was still stunned by the fact that she loved him.
"I know you're not going anywhere," he continued. "I just want you to know that I still think I'm incredibly lucky, that's all."
He reached around and grabbed his champagne glass, taking a sip. Wanting to change the subject, he commented, "It's going to be weird when we get back to work. I'm looking forward to it, but we're really going to have to be on our best behavior. If everyone was analyzing our behavior before, now they'll be even worse. Not that I care what they think or anything..."

"I think it will be even more strange when there's a baby running around." She was looking forward to going back to work, though she was aware that she and Roland wouldn't have as much time to be so into each other all the time. But work was familiar. It was the child that was the unknown.
"But you should probably expect me to steal you away in a broom closet at least twice on our first day back."

"Well, hopefully, the baby won't be running around right away," he teased. "Mostly she'll just be lying there. But she will probably be making a lot of noise... That's going to take some getting used to."
As much as he loved spending so much time with Riley, he was looking forward to going back to work as well. Sitting in the safe house all that time while there was work to be done had been really difficult. There had been times, especially when Riley was unable to come, when he had been on the verge of going crazy from being cooped up. If not for Phoenix and the small patch of land outside where he could walk the dog, he probably would have done something stupid.
Her comment about the broom closet made him laugh, and he leaned in for another kiss. "Mmmm, I'll be looking forward to that...." he said.

Riley rolled her eyes. "You know what I mean. Another person in the apartment is going to make it feel so small. And the late night feedings and diaper changes, the baby toys everywhere..." And if they were suspended for too much longer, Riley wondered if she would even be able to go back to work, or if it would lead straight into her maternity leave. And even then, she'd be doing office work only, and what if they sent Roland on a dangerous mission and she wasn't there to fight with him?
She let out an audible sigh, but did not share her thoughts. It was all things that they would take care of when the time came. She just kept reminding herself that this time was just for them.
She smiled and kissed him again. "How late into pregnancy do you have to stop having sex?" she teased.

He let out a low chuckle and curled his arms around her a little more tightly. "As far as I understand, we can keep doing it up to the end... we just have to be more creative about.... positioning..."
He wiggled his eyebrows at her playfully, then pressed a kiss against her neck. It still amazed him how far they had come, from that first time when she was practically terrified to touch him. Now they knew each others' bodies so well, that he could actually notice the subtle changes that her body was already starting to undergo.
After a minute, his expression grew serious. "I've been thinking about that," he said. "The apartment, I mean. What would you think about looking for houses? I was going to wait until things settled down a little more, but... well, maybe they won't."

"Well, we've already figured out that we're both quite good at problem solving." She was teasing, alluding to the fact that they could be quite creative when they needed to be.
She wasn't ready for the serious change in conversation that came next, and she pulled away from him slightly to look at him. For a second, it was almost as if she were trying to gauge if he was serious or not, despite the look on his face.
"Do we have money for a house?" she asked, thinking of the savings she had. Maybe they could do it. "Where would we live? The area around Hogsmeade isn't really safe."

Roland nodded. "I have a lot of money saved. I never really cared to buy a lot of things... as you can tell by my apartment. I would rather save it for when I needed it. Now... of course we're going to need to buy a lot of supplies for when the baby comes, but I think a house might be possible if we put our money together."
He gave a soft sigh. Safety was definitely a concern. But he couldn't really say London was any safer than Hogsmeade. Godric's Hollow might be better, but he wasn't sure about that, either. There was only one place he could think of that would be totally safe.
"I wish we could just live in the Safe House," he said, almost wistfully.

"Yeah, well, that belongs to the Ministry, and even if they would sell it... It's a really nice house. I don't think our money combined could afford it. But... But it does feel like home, doesn't it?"
Riley sighed a little wistfully as well. She had a million memories in that house... Falling in love with Roland, building a relationship, the dog.
"Could you really stand to be so far away from everyone, anyway?"

"Yeah, it really did feel like home when we were there," he said, smiling. "You're right... they probably wouldn't sell it to us, but so many good things happened there..."
If he was honest with himself, he missed it. Maybe he didn't miss being completely isolated from the world, but he did miss the feeling that they were totally alone in the world, and that their love was all that mattered. Of course, this little getaway did help to recapture some of that feeling. And the memories they'd built in the safe house, they would always be in his heart.
He kissed her tenderly. "Distance is relative, when you can apparate," he said. "But you're right, I do want to be close to Jamie, especially now."
