He smiled, she was in for a surprise if she had never been to the Room of Requirement before, then again it was something that the older students liked to keep a secret he supposed.
"Close your eyes." he said turning her to face the door.

Allaire was unsure of what the room of requirement was. She hadn't even heard of it, but then again she was usually off in some other world as she was reading her books that she didn't really pay attention to that kind of thing.
As he was turning her to face the door, she closed her eyes, being trusting once again.

His hands went up to her shoulders and he guided her forward, the doors opened and he led her inside. He smiled seeing the room as it had been perfect to him and he knew she would love it.
The room was light and airy with floor length windows allowing the sun's light to filter through the transparent draperies. Books of all kinds lined the walls, there was a small cafe to the side with self serve hot chocolate, hot tea, and cider along with other snacks of all kinds.
In the center of the room was a long wide sofa and a blanket in front of the fireplace. "Alright...open..."

Her feet moved forward slowly, making sure that she didn't fall as her eyes remained closed. Allaire would be lying if she said that she wasn't excited to find out what he was going to show her.
Once she opened her eyes, Allaire blinked a few times and looked around the room as a smile started to grow on her face. She took a glance to him, "How did-" but she let it trail off as she headed toward the book case. Her left index finger ran over the spine of a few books as she scanned the titles. Of course, there were many that she hadn't read but maybe she should come here more often. "This is amazing."

It was his lab most of the time, and so far he hadn't been caught at it, then again the potions he made were not illegal but some of the items he used were without a permit. Right now however , a private library was positively harmless.
"I'm glad you're pleased." he said his hands moving to his pockets as he watched her reactions.

It never took much to please Allaire. Just a simple book would have pleased her. Her smile was still on her face as she continued to look around the room. Eyes landing on the cider, Allaire walked over to it and made herself a cup. Sure, butterbeer was an all time favorite in the wizarding world, however it was not Allaire's favorite drink. Occasionally she would have butterbeer but it was usually cider that she would drink, or even pumpkin juice if cider was not available.
"Do you want a cup?"

He was glad she liked the cider, he had remembered from their previous outing, and briefly wondered if she had remembered as well.
"Pick one." he said in reference to the books. The smile was still on his face as he gazed about the large bright and airy room.

After she grabbed another cup and poured cider in it, she took it to him before looking toward the books. There was so many to choose from!
Allaire walked over to the book case with her cider in hand. She closed her eyes and ran her index finger over the spines and stopped on one. The title on the side said Beowulf. She had never read the story and she picked it off the shelf. "What about Beowulf? Is it any good," she asked turning around.

Ashton didn't realize he didn't answer her question about the drink but he was glad that she got him one anyway. "Beowulf?" he asked then smiled, "Not exactly what I pegged you for," but he nodded, "But yes, it is a classic."
He came up behind her and his arm reached next to her side brushing her lightly enfolding her into the space between him and the bookshelf as he reached for the book.

"And why wouldn't you have pegged me for Beowulf? I do like adventure. I don't always go for the romantic stories," she said looking at the cover.
Allaire wasn't expecting him to come up behind her, but she didn't jump. When he reached for the book, Allaire was still glancing over the back, reading a short excerpt from the book. She tensed slightly when she realized how close he was, but after a moment she relaxed as she handed him the book.

He smiled at what sounded like a soft rebuke, true he shouldn't have judged her by his own notions of what females read. Beowulf was a classic, and beautifully if not a bit complicatedly written, assuming you were reading the original. He nodded toward her, "You're right, forgive me..." he said leaning in and whispering. His mouth was centimeters from hers and his breath was warm and fresh touching her lips, it was a teasing sort of foreplay he was excellent at, especially when he pulled away and walked back to the sofa motioning for her to follow.

"I suppose I could this time," she said teasingly. As he leaned in, Allaire felt her heart start to speed up and she could feel his breath on her lips. Blood was pounding in her ears, and she was holding her breath without even realizing it.
Once he started to walk away, Allaire looked at his back confusedly. She waited for a moment before she started to follow. Thoughts were bouncing around in her head and she shook them away as she rounded the couch and took a seat.

"I don't bite." he said noting that she sat farther away from him than he liked, he was still teasing her though and dismissed the thought as he opened the book and cleared his throat. While he thought that quoting something from Byron or Yeats might get to her he certaintly hadn't planned on reading Beowulf, this could have backfired and yet he thought of it as a challenge.
He read to his younger sister when he was at home so it would have been surprising how well he threw in intonation and inflection making the story come to life even if it was a difficult read he did it practically flawlessly.

"Maybe I do," she said in her own teasing way. As he started reading, Allaire moved closer to him so that she could see if she could follow along in the text as he read. Once she was close enough that their legs would brush, she moved her legs on the couch so that she could sit more comfortably as she was read to.
During the story, she ended up leaning against him. When Beowulf was finished, Allaire smiled. "I think I might have to add that book to my collection the next time I go out. And I think that you read it beautifully." Realizing that she didn't want to go just yet, she glanced up at him. "Do you mind reading another? You don't have to finish it all today or anything, I just want to see how the story goes whenever you read it."

He smiled at her surprised how the time had passed, that they could simply lie like this and read, he never had that sort of peaceful feeling with anyone before, it was almost a little frightening, but enjoyable all the same.
"Sure.." he said agreeing instantly, though he didn't want to move, not when she was curled up against her, " How about this..." he said summoning a book to him, it was a collection of poems some dark some romantic, something he thought she'd appreciate and strangely something he wanted to share with her.

Allaire gave Ashton a broad smile as he agreed with her quickly. If she could, she would spend all day in the position she was in while he read outloud. There was something peaceful about it.
She was glad that he didn't move in order to get another book. She didn't want to have to move. Allaire looked at the book before he opened it. "This looks like it will be good," she said. "What kind of poems are in it?"

"That's the beauty of it..." he told her smiling at the inquisitive look that accompanied the question, " You never know what it'll be...here you pick." he told her handing her the book which seemed with magical propensity to choose the right poem for any moment in time. It was one of his favorite books for when he couldn't sort out his own thoughts it was something he could flip through to help him define what he was feeling.
He wondered what her poem would be.

A book that would pick the poem for her? Allaire wondered what poem would be chosen for her, but then again she was slightly afraid of the poem that would have been chosen for her. What if it mentioned something about liking him? Sure, Ophelia told her to just tell him, but she couldn't do that.
Sighing, Allaire took the book and opened it as she closed her eyes. The pages began to turn and finally stopped on, "The Angel" by William Blake. Allaire opened her eyes to see the poem and her eyes widened slightly.
She had read the poem before. Allaire supposed that she was thinking that something like this could happen if she didn't do anything. Maybe, just maybe she would say something before they departed from each other for the night.

Ashton smiled though he hid it. He was adjusting to the warm feeling that spread inside of him. Perhaps the poem was unfair, with most other girls the signals Allaire had already given to him would have been enough to get him to act, yet with her he didn't want any chances. He wanted to know how she felt before he moved forward, and now he did...or at least he had an idea.
"Interesting choice." he told her but the smile and approval was in his voice.

She just gave an innocent look and a shrug. Allaire hadn't really intended for something like that to be chose. The approval wasn't unnoticed in his voice. She fought the blush that wanted to appear on her cheeks. Part of her wondered if he had really planned to see what the book of poems would really choose for her. Ophelia would tell her to go ahead and tell him. Allaire hoped that she could gain her sister's courage and do it.
Allaire handed him the book before the book decided to turn its pages and reveal something else. It wasn't that she wasn't really scared, she just didn't know what would happen.
"Its actually one of my favorites," she admitted.
