He shook his head in light amazement although he didn't know why he was surprised Allaire wasn't the type that required compliments and yet he noticed how she blushed, and he knew that she liked that he had a good opinion of her. Sweet heart if you only knew. He smiled at her again and let it fall silent between them, he was comfortable with the silence whereas most people found words or something to fill the void he was often okay with simply gazing. Still he had to admit, "You're unlike many of the girls I know."

Silence didn't bother Allaire, unless it was an awkward or tense silence. She was quite content with comfortable silence since it provided a good time to have thoughts wonder. "Why be the same white sheep, like everyone else, when you could possibly be a different color?" Allaire gave a smile. She was comfortable with being slightly different. There was no point in being the same and following everyone else when you could just go with your own opinions. Her heroines, as well as her mother, had taught her that. You should be your own person. Of course, Allaire had a strong will which she inherited but it did grow stronger as she found role models in the books she read.

He smiled at her words, although he knew that being a sheep of a different color made her more open to attacks for not following the blend still he thought that she was more valuable because of her unique desire to be unique, at least in a way that didn't seem contrived or unnatural, Allaire was as she was, and she didn't hide things he respected that.
"And what color sheep do you perceive yourself to be?

"I don't think I'm just one color," Allaire said after a long moment's thought. "I am the multi-colored sheep." She thought that would probably be the best way to describe herself. Allaire couldn't think of just a single color that she would have been, so why not be them all? There was always time to be yourself and that was what she was all the time. She never followed in either of her sister's footsteps. Allaire made her own set of tracks in whatever direction she decided to go.
"What about you Mr. Lane? You don't really seem exactly like a white sheep."

"No" he smiled, " I'm the big bad wolf." he teased with a grin that was indeed wolfish. Though the metaphor was dead on, despite her being in Slytherin, she had an aura of prevailed innocence, multilayered as it were, whereas he took on the full extent of deception that his house asked of him. How like a wolf he was preparing to overcome the little multicolored sheep.

Allaire laughed. She didn't really know how true what he said was. She hadn't seen that side of him, or maybe she just didn't pay attention to that. Allaire didn't imagine Ashton being deceptive, but then again maybe it was just her nature not to see that. Of course, she attempted to see what good there was in people, and maybe that was going to be her down fall one day.
"I was going to speak to you the other day, but I was running a little later than usual because I misplaced my text book. I didn't really want to be late for class."

Ashton wondered in that moment if she was making excuses for why she hadn't seen him. Not that he had been particularly worried about it a moment ago. He wondered for the reason for her comment, she had wanted to speak to him the other day but was too busy? Was the emphasis on being too busy, or on wanting to speak to him?
Typical of Ashton to over analyze the situation, but over analyzing certainly benefited him more times than under analyzing that was for certain.
"Well...I'm glad we're able to talk now." he settled.

The only emphasis was that she was sorry that she didn't speak to him when she saw him. She was giving him an excuse as to why she didn't say anything. To her, it just felt like the reason needed to be verbalized so that he wouldn't think that she was trying to just avoid him.
Allaire smiled. "Me too," she responded. "Are you going to be busy later, or tomorrow? I, I was thinking about asking if you would proofread my paper, considering Kassia has started to be busy and she doesn't really have the extra time between working on her dress and doing her own school work I thought I would save her by asking someone else." There was a slight shyness to her voice. Of course, she thought by the time she finish, what she said was lame, but it gave her another excuse to be around him, didn't it.

He was almost certain her invitation had been born of flirtation more than a sincere desire to have him read over her paper. She in all likelihood didn't need his help in anything schoolwise. Still he appeared to think it over. "What class is it for?" he asked, he was mediocre in all of his classes, well except for potions, there he excelled with flair, then again he was two years ahead of her and whatever paper she had to write he certainly had been there and done that.

He was really going to look over her paper? Allaire fought the smile that wanted to appear on her face. Her invitation was born of flirtation more than her just wanting him to read over her paper. Allaire wasn't even quite sure how to flirt, but she was going to try.
Ashton was right again. She didn't really need him to look over the paper because she already checked it herself because Kassia was busy, however he didn't need to know that. "Er, charms," she replied. Charms was one of her better classes. However if he said anything about it, she could just simply give the excuse of she wanted to just make sure that her paper flowed well and made sense rather than a bunch of words crammed together.

"Charms?" he asked with a lazy smile, "One would think you didn't need any advice in that area at all." he said flirting back and referring to her female charms rather than the school work. He was nearly positive now that she was open to his advances and he didn't pause to think how well things were working out.

She didn't quite catch as to what he was referring. "Ah, maybe so, but who's to say that I would need an opinion to make sure that I'm doing it right?" Allaire's smile turned out to be a little more flirtatous that she realized it being. Maybe she was going to be alright with the whole flirting thing. She made a mental note to ask Fee for advice. After all, it seemed to be working alright for her.

Ashton was ever amused by her attempts at flirtation, it made her seem sweeter the fact that she wasn't a practiced flirt, instead her movements were comprised a sensuality that belonged solely to her and he was slightly honored that she would bestow those charms on him.
"No...no problem with charm at all." he said to himself noting her smile. Shaking his head he nodded, " I would be honored to assist you madame."

There was that familar heat in her cheeks again. Allaire didn't really realize what charms she had, although she was more than positive if she were to ask her sisters they would tell her.
"Great," she said still smiling. "Just let me know whenever you want to. I haven't anything else to do today." Allaire liked the fact that he didn't mind helping her. Times like this were what she enjoyed most, even more so than reading a book. Being around him made her feel like a normal person and not some rich girl.

"Come on." he said extending his hand to her as he stood up. This might end badly he thought, he might make her cry, it might hurt like hell...and yet he still wanted her to take his hand. Even if it was just for the ride of what promised to be an intriguing romance.

As he stood up and extended his hand, Allaire looked at him questionably. She wasn't going to ask where he was going to take her, if anywhere. That would be part of the adventure if she took his hand.
Allaire put her book down on the table in front of her and reached out and took his hand. She smiled and stood up, leaving her book on the table. She would just come back later for it.

Oh yeah...it was definitely going to hurt. He could already see the trust in her action, and the light in her eyes. He was an absolute cad for tempting her, and yet he couldn't help himself. Smiling he led her from the common room and kept his eyes on her as he led her down hallways and staircases seemingly not paying attention to where he was going though he had a definite destination in mind.

Maybe she was to trusting, but right now she wanted to see where everything was going. That was a part of the ride of life, right? She wasn't sure what she was getting herself into, but curiousity was getting the best of her.
Allaire held onto his hand as they left the common room. Occasional she would glance over to him, but her face would go warm when she realized that he was keeping his eyes on her.

He led her in front of what appeared to be an ordinary wall, " I don't suppose you know where we are...?" he asked as he nodded in the direction of the room of requirement. He had both of her hands now and was facing her. No holding back is what he told himself and once he made a decision he stuck to it.

Allaire stopped as he did and looked toward the wall. She looked at him curiously and shook her head no considering she didn't really pay attention as to where they were going. She felt very aware when he had both of her hands and she fought the redness that was surely to go to her cheeks.
