Cornered in the Hallway (Anonimus)

[Leo Agathon]

Although Rori had explained that she and Anonimus were "just friends," Leo was not so sure Anonimus would agree with that sentiment. He tried to be nice, to be understanding, and to be the good boyfriend... but it was hard. Rori was the best thing that had ever happened to him and he couldn't help but feel a little possessive. There was more to the story; Leo just knew it.

So finally, Leo tracked down Anonimus to his Transfiguration class and waited outside the classroom until the lesson was dismissed. His plan was to corner Anonimus and find out just what kind of relationship he and Rori had once had.

He leaned against the wall, right next to a suit of armor, and waited.

Anonimus had just sat through a slightly boring Transfiguration class and was happy to be out. He grabbed his backpack and threw his book into it. He put the leather strap around his shoulder and got up to leave. He got out of the door way and saw Leo standing across the hall. 'That is a little odd' he thought to himself but just shook it off and turned to go get a start on his homework. He was usually somewhat lazy but some days he did feel like getting it over with.

As the class let out, Leo immediately scanned the horde of exiting students until he laid eyes on Anonimus. He frowned slightly, as Anonimus seemed to notice him, yet kept walking.

Leo moved through the crowd, pushing past the other students until he fell into step alongside Anonimus. Putting his hand out to stop the older boy, he said, "Hey... can we talk?"

Anonimus noticed Leo beside him and looked over. Leo reached out to stop him and asked if they could talk.

"Yeah, sure" he said in a slight questioning tone. Anonimus was slightly confused because he really had the impression that Leo didn't like him in the slightest but he was fine with talking to him.

"OK, cool," Leo said. Grabbing Anonimus by the sleeve, he pulled the boy into an empty classroom and closed the door.

Once inside, Leo began to pace for a minute, trying to decide what he was going to say. He really did want to keep this as civil as possible, in case Rori happened to find out about it. He didn't want to mess things up between them, but he really needed to know the truth.

"So... how long ago was it that you knew Rori?" he began slowly, stopping to look at Anonimus.

Anonimus was pulled into an empty classroom and Leo shut the door. 'Okay if he turns to jump you, your older you know how to handle it' he thought and he put his hand slowly on his wand. After a minute Leo started pacing and Anonimus raised an eyebrow. 'What the heck is going on' he thought to him self. He took his hand off his wand but didn't completely relax just yet. When Leo finally brought Rori up it made since, Anonimus had figured that was where this was going but Leo had a steady voice and the question wasn't an attack. Anonimus relaxed and looked at Leo, he nodded.

"Right, we were really good friends about a year ago...before I went missing," he said running a hand through his hair.

Leo listened to what Anonimus had to say, but he wasn't entirely satisfied with the answer. He stopped pacing and took a breath. He turned to look at Anonimus, silently appraising him. "A year ago," he said. "And you say you were just good friends? Is that it? Or was there more to it?"

"Oh right, I mean we were best friends. I guess we were a little more right before I had to leave but it was never official. I was dumb enough not to officially ask," he said with a sigh. "Look Leo I wont lie to you I liked her, a lot. We were probably going to date if I hadn't had to go, but I did and here we are," he said running a hand through his hair. "I have talked to her and she seems happy with you, I wont step in the way of that. I didn't come back to make things hard on her," he said with a sort of glum expression on his face. "If you two break up I will probably try my shot with her again, but until then she is all yours," he said with a nod. "Is that what you wanted to know," he asked taking a seat on top of the nearest desk.

This was not what Leo had wanted to hear. It was what he'd expected, but not what he'd wanted to hear. He sank down onto a nearby desk and sighed heavily. Of course... of course a girl as beautiful as Rori had to have a few guys out there who had feelings for her. And she was a giving, generous soul with an open heart... she probably had liked other guys as well. She may not have dated them... but he was a fool to think that he'd been the only one she'd ever liked. He'd never liked anyone the way he liked her.

"Yeah," he said at last, looking up at Anonimus. "That was what I was looking for. Do me a favor... stay away from her, OK? Or if you do hang out with her, do it when I'm around and can keep an eye on you. I don't trust you."

Anonimus waited while Leo sorted it all out in his head. He knew Leo shouldn't be happy with this news but at least he was being honest. He felt bad for him because he knew he wouldn't like it if the same situation had happened to him. When Leo asked him to stay away from her he got a little on the defense and when he said he didn't trust him he felt his whole facial expression tense up.

"Look Leo I didn't have to be honest with you. I could have lied and said Rori and I were best friends, just to try to get closer to her," he said feeling his anger start to seep in. "But I didn't so you saying you don't trust me when you have talked to me a total of maybe five minutes in your life is way out of line," he said with a slight snap in his last words. "And no offense but I'm not going to stop being her friend unless she asks me to. I told you I won't interfere with you and her, I want her to be happy," he said honestly. "But If you feel the need to keep an eye on me then you know what, that's not my problem, that's yours because that means you don't trust Rori. So stop pointing the finger at me," he said as he stood up towering over Leo who was still sitting down. "If that's all you needed I'm going to go start my homework. I suggest you take this up with Rori and leave me alone I have been honest and you know where I stand," he said feeling a little better now that he had gotten it all out.

Anonimus wasn't a very angry person. He rarely ever got angry but Leo was being slightly unreasonable. He had tried to be honest and handle this the proper way but he also thought trust to be very important and valued it greatly. So for Leo to not trust him for being honest just made him frustrated.

Leo sighed. This wasn't going the way he had hoped it would. He was trying to be calm and reasonable, and somehow he'd still managed to make Anonimus angry. "Wait... Look. How would you feel if you were in my position. I trust Rori, of course I do. But... you know, we're both guys. And we know what guys think about. Her I trust... You... well, I don't know you well enough to know if I can really trust you, now do I? You have to earn that kind of trust."

Anonimus sighed and sat back down. "Leo I understand where you are coming from, but you need to see where I am coming from also. I have been through a lot in the past year and Rori was well is one of my best friends," he said with a serious expression. "I need to be around my friends. I understand that you don't see why you should trust me but I have not given you any reason not to. If anything I have given you reason to trust me," he said with a nod. "You need to realize that I am not going to do anything. I will give you two weeks, for the next two weeks if I am with Rori I will make sure you are there just so you can see that we are chill. After that though I am going to feel free to see my friend whenever I want," he said in a finalized kind of tone.

Leo thought on this for a minute. He wasn't particularly crazy about the idea of allowing this kid to spend any time he wanted with Rori. But he was being pretty fair about it, if he thought about it. And he really did need to prove that he trusted Rori, even if he didn't trust Anonimus.

Finally he sighed. "OK, fine. It's a deal."

Anonimus nodded. "I'm not here to make any trouble," he said with a nod. "But you don't need to over react ether. Keep both of those in mind and we might get along," he said with a sigh. "I'll see you around I guess," he said running a hand through his hair, his brows furrowing. 'That was a little uncalled for' he thought to himself as he stood up to leave the room. 'Hopefully he will calm down now,' he thought shaking his head slightly as he reached the door.
