Peter held onto Adelaide's hand the entire time Madam Pomfrey scanned her head. He was relieved that nothing extremely serious was wrong. Peter was going to tell Adelaide that she could just rest here, but there were so many people and he knew that she wanted to get out.
As she was getting up, Peter quickly stood up and put his arm around her to help her keep her balance. He wasn't sure what she was feeling at the moment, but he felt better knowing that he could help keep her steady. "Where do you want me to take you Adelaide?"

"Not to my mum and dad's room," she said right off. That was the one thing she was certain of. She wanted to leave her parents out of this. But she didn't want to go to the Ravenclaw dormitories either. Peter couldn't go with her if she went there, right? "Umm...wherever is quieter than this." Hopefully he would have a good suggestion if he wanted to stay with her.

He knew that she didn't want her parents to know about it, but he was sure that they would find out anyway. "Alright, um, I could," Peter stopped speaking as he was leading her carefully out of the Hospital Wing, while he was trying to think. "We could always go to my common room if you wanted. I don't think anyone would really be there. You could rest there for a little while. I wouldn't mind it," he said blushing slightly.
"We have nice comfortable couches in there. I could read to you, or something like that. Just something to help keep you awake for awhile while you rested."

"We can do that?" she asked, a little shocked. Then, knowing he must know more than she did, she rephrased it. "Yeah, we can do that." She liked the idea of him taking care of her for a bit, and he had a nice voice. Reading was definitely an option. And she hadn't ever been in any of the other common rooms before. She was interested in seeing how differently they were set up.

Peter gave a shrug. "I suppose we can. After all, it'll be alright because I'm keeping you awake." He smiled shyly. He started to lead her away from the Hospital Wing. Peter liked the idea of having the ability to take care of someone, especially Adelaide. Just the thought of that brought pink to his cheeks.
"What kind of books do you like?"

Christine was fumbling around she distantly heard Hayden asking what had happened but she couldn't make herself respond. Usually in situations like these where she had been kidnapped or lost in the jungle, tossed over a ship, she'd laugh and tell the crew all about it. She'd even embellish her daring or cunning in order to thwart her assailant, but this wasn't like anything she had felt before. This was...this happened to the people she cared about, and she was fine...it just wasn't fair, it wasn't something she had ever anticipated feeling.
Now Christine felt more than helpless watching her cousins in pain. Sam hadn't even woken up yet but Nicolas seemed to be taking care of her, he didn't seem to stop moving or hovering or getting potions and cajoling her to wake up.
Christine's breaths became heavy and she was spinning trying to see all of her family in their helpless disarray and that unfamiliar feeling of fear crept up upon her.
Fear wasn't an easy thing, it came in waves. The first hit would recede as you mentally made plans on how to fix what was wrong, but a second wave would knock those plans away. When life was on the line those waves just kept coming because no one had control over life and death.

Edward's presence in the shrinking room was a gripping tangible thing. The harsh planes of his face molded into an undefinable expression but whatever it was he was feeling his manner indicated foreboding. As if his aura simply cleared a path to his daughter he made his way to her with little hindrance.
He had been with James going over the accounts when the letter came to him. He read it since the owl seemed insistent and almost bit Edward's finger off in it's determination. Reading the letter set a thunderous expression over his face before he paled completely, he didn't even explain to James what had happened before he took off, he couldn't think about anything but getting to his daughter.
Now that he was there a cold feeling gripped his gut that he didn't know what to do. He felt like a little boy again wishing to the high heavens he could curse and scream and throw the hugest tantrum ever to get his daughter some help, but if anything propriety and the ultimate sense of responsibility that weighed his shoulders down kept him calm, he talked to Nicolas by the end of which he learned that she was as well taken care of as Nicolas could manage and there was nothing left to do but wait.
Edward didn't take well to that and glancing around at the injured in the hospital wing he felt something grip his chest. The wing could expand using magic if necessary, but they should have had more medics, the poor Nurse couldn't handle all these children, some needed immediate attention and others needed scrapes looked at, and there was no telling what kind of mental trauma half of these kids were going to need.
If there was one thing Edward could do it was pull resources.
He didn't anticipate anyone having a problem with more medics at all. The private medics he had at his home were already on their way.
It was then he noticed Christine and he knew he should have left word or pulled James along with him. She looked petrified. In fact looking around he saw a few others he recognized, the Ferrera's were related to his brother's wife, and if he wasn't mistaken that was Cyrus on the bed, and Jaime in another.
He even saw Seth, the young man he had been introduced to during the tournament. He realized all these injured students were friends and acquaintances of his daughter and his niece...and they were all so innocent, how could this have happened?

Erica was helping students as she could but really the room was getting far too crowded. She had no clue of the chaos at the common room. Edward's thinking was right, she paused, she wasn't the best one to perform such a spell as expanding the room, her magic really wasn't up to par, but her humanity and insight was what got her, her job, in the first place.
She took to Madame Pomphrey's side, " We have to do something about this room, more students are piling up injured and they need beds..."

With a combined effort, the group finally managed to get Nolan up to the hospital wing. Ethan discovered very quickly that the higher levels of the castle were better. There were less people, except that the hospital wing was pure choas. It left a sick feeling in his stomach, and he desperately wanted to see his sister.
By the time he had Nolan in the wing, he realized there were no more beds, and he didn't know what to do, so he turned around and ordered a few people off the chairs and struggled to line them up, finally working with Julia to lay Nolan across them.
When he wasn't supporting the Gryffindor anymore, Ethan's hand went to his side, and he leaned against the wall, trying to convince himself that his heart was only racing because of the adrenaline and not the pain in his side.

Nikita was in pain, that was the easiest way to put it but even then it felt as if she had had worse in the past, her only regret in this instance was the girl who had died if only Nikita could go back.
They laid her out on one of the beds but ever since she regained consciousness she had been trying to get up and out of it, she complained that there were students who needed the beds more than she did and it angered her that she was being catered to when she had always taken care of herself, not to mention that there were actually other students who needed help.
She was done arguing she simply got up. Her back ached like nothing had b efore, there had been a burning beam laying on top of her for more than two minutes of course her back hurt but thanks to magic there'd be no scars and she would heal. Right now she needed to do something that might actually help.
She looked around the room that was rapidly getting much too crowded and when Erica came up to her with the problem she agreed that expanding the hospital wing was the only option, together she and Erica began to create more beds using the Gemini spell and Nikita more expertly expanded the wing length wise.

Lyra and Lilac had made it up to the hospital wing before Ethan and the others. But it was so crowded that Lyra opted to wait in the hallway, she didn't even see that Sam was on the far side of the room with Julian. If she had, there would have been no keeping her out of there. Lyra was getting annoyed waiting for Ethan to carry Nolan upstairs but she was relieved upon seeing him once more as he made his way into the crowded room. She followed in behind them, watching as they pieced together a place for Nolan to lie down. When he was finally free of the boy, she waited still. Lilac had been going bonkers looking for Ethan, and in a rare moment of common courtesy, Lyra let her go to him first.

She was at the end of her tether as well waiting for Ethan to be finished but she was able to see him now and he was at least looking alright, he didn't seem to have anything broken or bleeding and when he set Nolan down nothing could have stopped Lyla from running into his arms. She squeezed him as tight as her strength would allow and cried releasing all the pent up worry and doubt.

Ethan grimaced as Lyla squeezed him tight, but he put his arms around her anyway, briefly, taking his hand away from his side. His own injury had been hidden beneath a mask of strength and the school robes, but he already could see how this situation was going to end.
Honestly, he was fine, and he would be fine, but it didn't mean he had made it through the attack as unscathed as he thought. In fact, he didn't even know he had actually been injured until Nolan collapsed and he felt the pull in his side.
"Lyla, I need you to stay calm," he told her, putting his hands on his shoulders and pushing her back slightly. As he had worried, there was blood on her right arm where she hugged him.

Lilac nearly didn't release him as he pushed her away but at his insistence she pulled back. She followed his eyes to her arm and thought how strange it was that there was blood on her arm when she wasn't hurt. Her first reaction was to assure Ethan it wasn't hers when her eyes widened and she realized that it was his.
Just short of going into a panic his words registered in her mind and she nodded taking a deep swallow, " Let's sit you down." she said glancing around, "Come on...they're are new beds further down." she acknowledged and her brother needed to sit, needed to be tended to, unfortunately it didn't look like there were nearly enough people around to help.

Ethan shook his head. "No, we need to get Nolan to a bed first," he said, and even then, he might sit down but he wouldn't take up one of the beds.
He looked over Lyla's shoulder to Lyra and smiled at her. It actually meant a lot that she was there and worried about him, along with everyone else she was worried about.
"I'm fine, I promise, Lyla."

Lilac's eyes hardened, she was tired, she was already sick, and all the worry deep inside of her had filled to a breaking point, " Nolan has people taking care of him. What help do you think you're going to be when you're injured yourself?" she snapped, " You need to sit down and have someone examine why you're bleeding." arms akimbo she looked very fierce, perhaps the fiercest she had ever looked, perhaps it was the first time she ever said anything defiant to him.
She looked around and narrowed her eyes, "Get one of these people who aren't injured to help Nolan get to a bed." she was two seconds from yelling at everyone to do just that.

"Lyla, look at me," Ethan said, his voice gentle, but still strong and commanding. "It's okay. I'm okay."
He knew that she was as fiercely protective of him as he was of her, and his main concern was actually just keeping her calm right now. He would need one simple spell, maybe a potion, and everything would be fine. He was not as bad off as some of the people in here.
He once again looked at Lyra. "Lyra? Are you all right?"

Lyra had been giving them their space and instead had taken to looking at all the different people, some not even students, and all the different injuries in the room. It set an odd feeling in her stomach as her eyes ran over the faces of the people standing around the beds. So many people were crying and looking terrified even in the safety of Hogwarts. She saw Julian leaning over a bed on the other side of the room. She couldn't see who was in the bed, but her gut told her it was Sam. Her heart lurched into her throat.
And just then Ethan called to her. She turned to look at him, dazed and a little confused, then spotted the blood on his side. "Merlin Ethan! What's wrong with you?" She momentarily forgot about Julian as she quickly closed the gap between her and the Drakes.

Lilac looked at him, but wasn't satisfied with his words and in fact stomped her foot. Her brother wasn't being fair, Godric knew that if her side was bleeding he'd be picking her up and forcing her to get in a bed then hollering the entire hospital down until someone would look at her, it wasn't fair that because she was the little sister he wouldn't listen to her.
She frowned at him, " Ethan!" she huffed he was asking if Lyra was okay and since Lyla knew that she was she was frustrated that Ethan would be going over everyone else's injuries before acknowledging his own, nevermind that it would be the exact same thing she would do.
There was someone walking up to them and she didn't care who it was rudely she got his attention, "Can you help us?" she asked still sweet in her determination, " He needs to get to a bed and my brother's injured." she said giving Ethan a hard look and then one of pleading toward the man who looked indeed capable of lifting Nolan on his own.

Julian was with Sam and Nicolas taking care of Christine. Edward was now hovering and waiting on their medical staff to come, he had Christine in hand but let her go to Edward who opened his arms to her.
He wondered where Caleb was but was certain that the man could handle himself, it was then that he took a look around, he knew that Lyra was safe because he had left her at the castle, so it was something of a surprise that he saw her in the hospital wing. At the sight of her he made a direct bee line to get to her but a little girl who he didn't know stepped in his way and asked for help.
He looked between Lyra, Ethan, Nolan, and the little girl then nodded, "Certainly."
